FIR blanket product questions

Hi guys, after the recent podcast I was interested in checking up the FIR sauna blanket that they talked about. Then, as it happened, a local store had a FIR sauna blanket, and for a really cheap price too. So, before I check with Mark about his products, which are undoubtedly good but probably more expensive and more inconvenient to get (I'm in Malaysia), I would like to rule out this local offering first.

Does anyone know what to look for in FIR sauna blanket specs? Wavelengths, temperatures, etc.? Any questions I should ask the supplier to know whether it's "good enough" or not?

The specific product I'm looking at is from Vee-Man Beauty Sdn Bhd (_http://www.veemanbeauty.com/), and is called M-2016 ("one section heater").

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!!

Temperature : Dr. rogers suggests up to 140 F or 60 C.
Wavelengths : FIR itself is the range. I have not seen the numerical wavelengths in this product.
It should cover entire body, just one part. Otherwise you have to spend lot of time in the blanket.
Quality - I dont know how to measure. you may want to checkup about the return policy to be on the safe side, if some thing doesn't work

Apparently the various FIR blankets currently on the market don't display any radiation specs and that's really an issue because the main purpose of an FIR is to radiate in a specific range at a specific intensity.

Finding someone who has an IR/FIR spectrometer would enable to compare the radiations of various blankets.

True, although that's not really an option for me, here, right now.

I'll simply ask the manufacturer for more specs, and see what they reply.

Just remember, cheaper is not always better.

And even at a cheaper price, it is still a chunk of money, I would expect. So be careful in your decision.

That's why I wanted to know how to evaluate the product. If it's "too cheap to be true", then that's fine, and I'll be calling Mark instead. If it is ok, or ok-ish, then the local convenience and (seemingly) good price is worth a lot.

Well, I don't really know what to compare with, but the one I'm looking at is on sale here now for about €100. How this compares to Mark's prices I have no idea, since there's no price info on his website. But to me it sounds cheap anyway.

I've noticed that as well.

I found the following from here

Contact Get Fitt Limited directly to find out the latest hire charges and purchase prices as these prices are subject to change and it is impossible to ensure that my website will always quote accurate prices. A direct link to the Get-Fitt Ltd website can be found below

Current (April 2007)purchase prices are as follows:-
· Far Infrared Portable Sauna suitable for MCS sufferers (Includes extra large FIR Heating panels); Price £250.00 Includes VAT (not including shipping).

· Far Infrared Blanket £385.00 Includes VAT (not including shipping). This is particularly recommended for MS sufferers and patients in wheelchairs who cannot sit in the "sit-in" unit. Also, this provides full 360 degree Far Infrared coverage.
And 385 pounds (if that still is the price) is about 424 euros.

well, I got the sauna blanket from amazon for 340 US dollar , which is sold by company called Global Quest. their customer service is horrible,( after 45 days, I am still fighting with them ) the product has 3 zones and has some serious problem with all zones working together. Ridiculous as it could be , it takes 1.5 hrs for first drop of sweat to come out at 60 degree centigrade or 140 F. I asked for the replacement , which they promise to send , though they don't even care to reply back about details of shipment.

To test whether this blanket is creating the necessary temperature , I used room thermometer, which is not showing the temperature I set.

Latest is , the boss of the company promised me to checkup with his people, he will get back to me on monday. I am not optimistic from the past , but still waiting to have a working unit.

Now I see sauna blanket for 350.00 , though I am not sure whether this unit sold by the same company or not.

Seek10, sorry to hear about your experience. I think you should write some review on the product at Amazon so that others will know.

seek10,

I am sorry to hear about the problems you are having with your FAR blanket. I hope you get some help from the company and soon. If you are able to get a refund, I would suggest trying the following site, as this is where I purchased mine. I am having zero problems and very happy with it at this time. _http://www.promolife.com. I paid $340 US and it included shipping.

Hope this can be of help to you.

I got my sauna blanket from this site: (for US and Canadian electrical systems)

_http://www.vitalityshoppe.com/id21.htm

I actually spoke to the seller over the phone and she was really forthcoming in answering the questions I had about the blanket.  The phone number is on the web site.

I've had no problems at all with the product.  With shippping, the unit cost me $439.00.

thank you bobo08 and others for comment and thank you gwb1995 for the link , I ordered at promolife today (now it is $369 - one can use promo10 as promotion code to get $10 less).

After waiting for so long and hoping for resolution from previous purchase issue, I filed a complaint with amazon for refund from under their "A-to-z Guarantee program". Let us see how it comes out .

I got the money back today, so fast. I should have complained to amazon long back probably. thank you

That is great!!!!! I am glad you finally got some results and action taken on this. At least someone has kept from being ripped off and not allowed the system to win.

Cool!! :D

Someone had recommended the far Infrared blanket to me a couple of months back and I listened to the podcast some months ago when it came out. They linked me to the promolife link, already posted above. I'm just curious if anyone has used this particular product themselves as I just ordered one for my wife and I? If yes, would you give any feedback, taste of your experience?

I don't think that I'm really in need of the product, so far as detoxing is concerned, though I'm not sure.

Clicking around on the promolife website drew blanks as to the manufacturer (though it could be promolife). I'm just curious as to anyone's experience with them/their products.
