We'd like to know if we have an aspiring authors who would be willing to dedicate some time to writing Sott Focus pieces for Sott.net. We would really like to have as much original quality content on Sott as possible. The benefit of original content is that it is a great way to promote sott and bring in more and more readers who may then stumble upon other areas of the site, like this forum, the EE prog, PC etc. So in a way it is a means to an end, but also an end in itself because.....

the general angle is that you would write something that speaks to what is going on in the world today, which is mostly lies, and truthify it, but you could also highlight any positive life affirming and hope-giving events or ideas. This in itself is a great service to people who are starving for the truth and being fed nothing but lies.

Length can be short (five or six paragraphs) to a maximum (ideally) of about 5000 words (although exceptions can be made).

So, any takers?

As strange as it may seem coming from me, this sounds like a fun, interesting way to engage myself.

I've been looking for something to fill some un-used time and this sounds like just the thing.

(and no ranting, i promise.  No cussing, name calling, etc. will be included in my writing just in case that was a concern. ;D)

Excellent abstract, if you need any more pointers or have any questions just ask here. If and when you get something together, send it to sott@sott.net

Hi Perceval,

I would like to try. The only problem being that I would need some proofreading witch would involve some other members from the translation group or maybe some of us here can come together and arrange who does what.
Maybe creating a group similar to the trans. group dedicated specially for this.

Hi Andi, just to be clear, I'm talking about English articles. If you have a decent enough level of English then it shouldn't be a problem for a sott editor to proof read.

Hi Perceval

I would like to have a go at helping with this too,

Did you have in mind for us to come up with the stories as it were, or to research given topics perhaps  or perhaps
a mixture of both ?

As I have just seen this thread, If I may think about some more constructive questions to ask you for some direction/pointers

I don't know if I'd be any good at all, but if I don't produce  something for it I'll never know!

Hey Al, yes, the idea is that if you generally keep up with the political, social, cultural, academic, scientific etc. affairs on our planet, and if something has occurred or occurs to you that you think people should know about, or if there is some topic that you feel passionate about, or if you have "connected the dots" on some aspect of political or social skulduggery, or if you want to share a message or hope or courage, then just write about it. But basically, its up to you. The only thing we would ask if that you try to keep it "on message" in terms of the message that Sott and the forum put forward.

Ever Since Laura, introduced the idea of creating our own world, i got stuck. Ther is a block around the 'freewill' 'maneuvers'.

back over 6 months ago in september, it is almost impossible to conceive a perfect 'freewill'  fellowship.

just about *&^%$#Impossible##- so im, i sit here, i see one's  Abandon, of her gameof WoW and all her 'friend's' in ther- we already know ther is exceptional gain from free will consciousness.  I play WoW also- and i do not share the feelings, of despair or entrapment. ther are temporary gains- which can improve the character that you are creating.

What has really captured and stirred my soul's soup is this idea of freewill fellowship.- Apart from many Ideas that have been presented, ther trully is a dividing line that, cuy'y

Hi Stevie

I have difficulties understanding your points, I'm guessing english is not your first language but I think your post also displays a 'chaotic' mindset, which i can relate to. Have you tried Eíriú-Eolas it has certainly helped me, when I started posting I had so many untangled threads in my mind which resulted in poor communication, but I have been practicing the breathing technique and am working on applying external consideration so people may understand me better, amongst other benefits.

Am I understanding you rigth that you are advocating benefits with playing WOW?, have you seen  this thread

Hmm...I actually think that Stevie is an English speaker from US, and there might be other reasons for his 'chaotic' post, like possible chemical substances, for example. Stevie, care to clarify this?

I would like to help with proofreading, if that would give the editors more time for other tasks. I do a lot of that kind of thing at work, so it comes naturally.  Just let me know if that would be useful!

Hello, Perceval. I just discovered this thread. If you're still looking, I am a holistic health and nutrition writer by trade and would love to contribute to SOTT. I have over two years worth of articles that could be rewritten to make for original material. Not all of it is appropriate to SOTT, mind you, but most if not all of it fits within the dietary recommendations given in the forum. I could also do all new material.

I'm also a pretty good proofreader/editor, if that sort of work is needed.

Fantastic Dugdeep! Feel free to submit when you are ready. Aleana, thanks for the offer. I'll certainly take up your offer for proof-reading. Thanks

Just said to mocachapeau on another thread where I was suggesting he might want to try out this writing project

"well, bottom line is that if you are a decent writer in general, i.e. you can put your thoughts or ideas down in a half-interesting/engaging and relatively concise way, then all you need is a decent thought or idea."
