Hi

Is it ok for me just to 'lurk' about for a while without contributing until I figure out where I best fit?

Cheers

Hi Eúnan,

Welcome to the forum. :) Have you read this topic called Boardlurker? Read This!! You will gain useful insights. We also recommend all new members to post an introduction in the Newbies section telling us a bit about themselves, and how they found their way here. Have a read through that section to get an idea of how others have done it. Thanks.

Question for Laura

Hi Laura

I'm a friend of {names removed for privacy by mod}. I guess I'm trying to ingratiate myself!

Seriously though, given your recent medical history I think you're ideally suited to comment on my issue. I'm due to have my 5th Major spinal surgery next Wednesday. Its only 8 months since the last one and I'm not sure I'm fully over it yet. Next week is the Frankenstien job - neck held together by bits of metal afterwards. Is there a chance that Éiriú Eolas might relax me, or help in some other way (even though I'm a bit of a sceptic?)?.

Did it help you post-op?

Cheers for listening.

Eúnan

Re: Question for Laura

Hi Eúnan,

I am sorry to hear about what you will have to go through but why do you need to ask Laura about the E/E Program? Why don't you try it out and see for yourself? You could read the entire E/E Program topic, the E/E FAQ or you could read about it at the E/E forum on what others have reported but essentially, until you do it, whatever anyone says about it would just be hearsay to you. What have you got to lose by trying it out yourself?

Re: Question for Laura

See Vulcan, that just shows how 'green' I am - I didn't know I could just try it, I thought I had to buy it, and I like to ask questions before I buy. But if I can try before I buy, all the better. Cheers.

Hi Eúnan,
the whole program is for free: to test and try, exactly for the reason that you don't have to buy a pig in a poke, so to speak.
I hope EE helps you to relax and if you like you can report back your experience here or on the mentioned EE-forum.

And by the way, welcome to the forum.

Re: Question for Laura

Eúnan, I'm really, REALLY sorry that you have to go through these awful procedures. I hope you have thoroughly investigated alternatives. The first spinal surgery was suggested to me when I was 25. The second when I was 43. I refused both times and opted for alternative therapies. I struggled along for years, dealing with constant, often intractable pain until I discovered that diet had a lot to do with what was going wrong with my bones and joints, not to mention the rest of me. Even then, it took a good 7 years or so to finally really understand what was going on and what to do. A lot of the information I needed wasn't even in the scientific domain back then, but it certainly is now. But, in the meantime, I DID have three bone/joint related surgeries that I now wish I had known then what I know now... but considering what was available to me, those surgeries were the only options at the time.

Having said all that, I feel pretty certain that EE will be of benefit and, as is mentioned, you can definitely try it for free. In fact, if you send me your shipping details in a PM, I'll see that you get a high rez copy of the DVD set. I am very interested in people with chronic illness to try it and report back on their results.

The worst thing about surgery, IMO and experience, is the toxicity of the chemicals that get pumped into your system during the procedure. All that has to be detoxed before you can fully recover. Additionally, if your issues are autoimmune related, a huge autoimmune reaction will be triggered that can take months to get settled. That is what happened to me because the root of my issues is autoimmune disease. So careful diet and supplementation can really help this process.

Finally, FAR infrared therapy was a life-saver to me after my surgery. I have the IR blanket which makes using it very comfortable for a disabled person (which I was). It can not only help with pain relief, speeding healing, it can help to detox.

I will be thinking about you next Wednesday.

Re: Question for Laura

Hi Eúnan,

I just would like to add that I had a very small, in comparison to what you will be going through, medical situation where doing one of the techniques on the EE program helped me immensely, both during the procedure and after. It is called the pipe breathing. It really helped me by doing this type of breathing before the procedure and I would think that doing it afterwards once you are at home would also help. The EE program is very powerful.

That being said, what Laura said about diet and the FAR infrared blanket are so very important for you to consider. Diet has a huge amount to do with what ails us. Reading the threads in the Diet and Health section can really help you to lead a better and less painful life.

Good luck to you. :flowers:

Re: Question for Laura

Hi Eúnan, I'm really sorry to hear you have to go through another surgery, I can really second what Laura mentions about the toxins and the Far Infrared Sauna blanket, it can really help a lot with many physical ailments. As for the EE program, I would say that there is a good chance that it can help, definitely in terms of relaxation pre-op. As mentioned, you can download for free here

http://eiriu-eolas.org/about/

which will get you started, but we can send you a hard copy too.

Re: Question for Laura

Hi Eúnan,

Sounds like you've really been through a tough time healthwise. I agree with other's comments, the EE program is very helpful for dealing with stress and anxiety, and could make a real difference in coping with the surgery. Those of us who have practising it have found it really does bring you to a calm and centered place and seems to stop the body tensing up no matter what is going on around us.

Take care and best of luck!
