opiate withdrawal
Al Today:
Hello Jonjan,
I sure do understand how never ending pain can drive one to the brink of hell. I also understand how opiates and other assorted meds work in the short term. Problem I experienced is/was that over time the meds only create a new stage of hell to live with. Gonzo had a few excellent comments about diet. Very important. Although I am not, nor ever will be pain free, life is beginning to get tolerable. Why? Because I've been on this forum with people who care. And many many here can relate to what you live with. So if you choose to, listen and try out some of the good comments I've seen here. Also, search the forum to read of the many threads that perhaps you can relate to. What it boils down to, is you. All is your choice. There is no quick sure fire cure. Takes time and Work. Life is a roller coaster, full of ups, downs and quick jerks. If you want to, remember to keep networking here. As long as you try and work at it, many here will support you.
To start with, why not search the Diet & Health section for " PAIN "? And ask questions on what you find...
AL today and will see what tomorrow brings...

Thank you very much for such great suggestions.
I ordered Éiriú Eolas several years ago and continue doing it but not every day.
I've read Detoxify or Die and Life Without Bread. I can't seem to find the book Laura mentioned that dealt with Calcium. I think someone wanted to read it several years ago since it's not in my library.
What bothers me the most is that I was told I could have a heart attack if I stopped doing them cold turkey. I'm saving for a Blender that will grind meat up. My blender won't do meats that have been cooked. Every time I try eating soft foods I end up getting sick or feel full. Yet, my plate looks like it hasn't touch. But I know I need to start slow again and work myself up which is what I'm doing.
I'm also wanting to purchase that Juicer Mixer that Joe Cross introduced that mixes fruit and vegetables. Problem with that one is that its not available since its sold out. I'm still checking every other day so when its sold again I'll get it if I have enough saved up.
I don't have insurance for a pain specialist. All that was taken away from me when Worker's Comp. dropped my case.
May I ask Muxel what was meant by Cold? I have had chills during withdraws when I tried stopping. The neurologist said I had extensive nerve damage and there wasn't anything that could be done except pharmacology. I'm sure we all know what that means "Poison".
Having support from folks like you's that have had this problem will help me overcome this bad situation I'm in. Just being able to communicate with others is a big blessing.
Depression is one thing I try to stay away from. I'm always looking inside myself to stop anything like that to surface since I have a son that needs me. I get confused at times since the C's said when were thinking about others were not STO's. I may be saying that incorrectly or misunderstood it.
Anyway I thank you all for such great help with your recommendations. I know I have a strong will which helps but its my understanding that bothers me.
I recall what Ark said once: "That he's able to now contribute something to the Forum since he's experienced the waking up process". Those weren't his exact words but it was something like that. I feel the same way since I've read a lot and understood a lot of what the C's had to say even though it takes me a long time to just read a book.
I'm ready to introduce myself to the website/forum. I'm also ready to join the Fellowship of the Cosmic Mind and need a application since my copier doesn't work. How do I get one sent or can I just copy on paper from the website and submit it?
It's such a relief knowing there's such folks as myself that do care for others. I think my biggest problem is having to much Compassion for others. Is that wrong? I know what true love is now thanks to Laura's great books. And now I can share that with other like-minded folks on this forum.
Now on too my introduction since I know where to start.

Have you had a look into Buprenorphin (Subutex® in DK don't know if it has the same name in the US)? At the ward where I work, we had a patient 5 years ago who was getting off Methadone and it seemed to really work. It took him about 3 months from when he started taking Subutex instead of Methadone to be completely clean.
Good luck!

Ibogaine is illegal in the US and Canada, ie not approved, but is legal in England and elsewhere in Europe. When I researched addiction four or five years ago there was very little out there on Ibogaine, but it was temporarily effective for many people, providing they changed their lifestyles and dropped their old friends or they would tend to fall back. Seemed promising at the time and there is a lot more information now than there was back then. There are some other important things in the natural substance categories for pain and addiction that may ameliorate symptoms. I will have to check my old files (some are missing) and see if I can dig something up...

Please don't, since it is illegal in the US and Canada. Thanks.

My old files had info on "nutrients" like say Reservatrol and some Frequency Machines that were helpful. And at one time, MELATONIN became ILLEGAL in Canada and was pulled from shelves, only to reappear due to public outcry. So you want to bar discussion of that? What about LSD for studied benefits. Sott.net has 15 articles on its purported therapeutic benefits, alcoholism being one of them. Do a search. Should we ban a discussion of "whole milk", as in unpasteurized, because some states have outlawed its sale? Just because the government deems something illegal, doesn't mean it shouldn't be discussed if there are proven theraputic results.
