Radioactive contamination has been widely but inhomogeneously found in eastern Japan, even in areas hundreds of kilometers away from the plant1, 2, 3, 4. Airborne surveys revealed that the contamination spread widely, but areas northwest of the plant, from the immediate vicinity of the plant to approximately 60 km away, were found to be notably heavily contaminated (e.g. ≥ 134, 137Cs 1000 kBq m−2)1, 2. The two major radioactive elements found to be widely deposited are iodine (131I) and cesium (primarily 134Cs and 137Cs). Because the half-lives of 131I, 134Cs, and 137Cs are 8 days, 2 years, and 30 years, respectively, the decontamination of cesium (especially 137Cs) is now the crucial issue.

Tepco is hiding almost everything what could damage their position.

Weekly Asahi reported they obtained the email leaked from Tepco. It was sent from a staff of engineering devision to his coworker and a nuclear expert.
It warned the possibility of recriticality of reactor2.

“From looking at the water level (60cm), it is obvious that the PCV and suppression chamber are severely damaged.
It is very likely that a new heating mass is generated from recriticality. We can not tell exactly what is happening inside of PCV. We can never deny the possibility of recriticality. ”

Tepco officially has never given out a warning like this below.

The official reason is that the firm may not be able to handle the massive compensation payments it owes to victims of the meltdown without going bankrupt. Unofficially, the firm has such long-standing ties to anti-social forces, including the yakuza—that some members of the Diet, Japan’s national legislature, feel the firm is beyond salvation and needs to be taken over and cleaned up. A Japanese Senator with the Liberal Democratic Party stated on background, "TEPCO's involvement with anti-social forces and their inability to filter them out of the work-place is a national security issue. It is one reason that increasingly in the Diet we are talking de facto nationalization of the company. Nuclear energy shouldn't be in the hands of the yakuza. They're gamblers and an intelligent person doesn't want them to have atomic dice to play with."

California is already getting it:

One of the largest and speediest fish, Pacific bluefin tuna can grow to 10 feet and weigh more than 1,000 pounds. They spawn off the Japan coast and swim east at breakneck speed to school in waters off California and the tip of Baja California, Mexico.

Five months after the Fukushima disaster, Fisher of Stony Brook University in New York and a team decided to test Pacific bluefin that were caught off the coast of San Diego. To their surprise, tissue samples from all 15 tuna captured contained levels of two radioactive substances -- ceisum-134 and cesium-137 -- that were higher than in previous catches.

To rule out the possibility that the radiation was carried by ocean currents or deposited in the sea through the atmosphere, the team also analyzed yellowfin tuna, found in the eastern Pacific, and bluefin that migrated to Southern California before the nuclear crisis. They found no trace of cesium-134 and only background levels of cesium-137 left over from nuclear weapons testing in the 1960s.

The results "are unequivocal. Fukushima was the source," said Ken Buesseler of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, who had no role in the research.

The real test of how radioactivity affects tuna populations comes this summer when researchers planned to repeat the study with a larger number of samples. Bluefin tuna that journeyed last year were exposed to radiation for about a month. The upcoming travelers have been swimming in radioactive waters for a longer period. How this will affect concentrations of contamination remains to be seen.

NASA is up to its usual disinformation, this time with the meteorological equivalent of comparing apples and oranges. Elephants and fleas might be a closer analogy.

First, NASA finally admits that electromagnetic disturbances in the ionosphere often accompany major seismic events. A clear example, which NASA did not allude to, was the six months of “curious” atmospheric charges that preceded the 1995 Kobe Earthquake.

Many witnesses have noted “luminous pink clouds” prior to and simultaneous with the Kobe quake and the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake.

NASA falls down, however, in citing the March 11 quake and tsunami as the sole causes of ionosphere disturbances over Fukushima. No previous atmospheric event can match the intensity of the Fukushima-centered effects of March 11, 2011, which destroyed much of the protective ozone over the Arctic Circle and charged massive luminous clouds over the Japan Trench for months afterwards.

The Fukushima effects on the atmosphere were off the scale because of the vast releases of radioactive particles that began two hours after the tsunami impact. Our last HEPA filter measurements January 22 produced some astonishing results. Doing a spot test on the Honeywell barrel-style filter and a Kenmore Plasmawave, we found radiation ~351% of normal background. The machines had been running for 42 days. The combined aggregate dust came in even hotter at 538% of normal background radiation at Radiation Station Santa Monica.

Now 43 days later, we tested the same HEPA filters in the same environment and setup. This time, as you can see in the video, the dust was a lot hotter. A spot test was ~377% of the previous background. Then we vacuumed out the filters with a HEPA filter Eureka vacuum cleaner and tested the aggregate.

The March 6 test of the combined dust came in at a sizzling 668% of background or 6.68 times normal. Since the last testing period, the radiation detected has risen another 130% indicating a continued upward trend.

That radiation is rising in Los Angeles comes as no surprise considering the enormous amount of radioactive 'buckeyball' filled with 60 uranium uranyls apiece that has been being produced at the stricken complex for almost a year. A just-released U.C. Davis report describing the phenomena is also examined in Beta Watch.

We now posits that this radiation ahead of the main swell through repeated aeration resultant of choppy Pacific water in storms, is picked up and moved on the winds as sea spray and mist moving ahead of the current. No other explanation is so compelling than this mechanism of increased mobility of this radiation most likely in the form of buckyballs that may, as the U.C. Davis report suggests, the same nanoparticle model that could cage in mobile spheres plutonium-239, strontium-90, cesium-137 and the deadly host of other radionuclides from Fukushima that have poisoned the Pacific for nearly a year.

AGATE BEACH, Oregon —

The Japanese consulate confirmed Wednesday night debris that washed up on an Oregon beach is from the 2011 Japan tsunami.

The debris – a floating dock – came ashore on Agate Beach in central Oregon sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning. It’s 66 feet long, 7 feet tall and 19 feet wide.
