Ok, I am a very shy person but I think this can be very interesting about Before and After. You can see, I loose some 13 kilos in 4 months. I feel good  but I hope I will stop to loose because if not I will look like a carrot!  :P

When I first went gluten and dairy free a couple of.years ago I probably lost about 30lbs. Since going low carb and grain free I haven't lost any significant amount of weight.  I lost about 8 lbs. when I first started the cold baths but gained back most of it when I started lifting weights.  I have noticed a bit of change in body comp though.

You more than likely know this, I figured I'd throw it out there anyway, but muscle mass weighs more than fat mass so you would weigh more even if you lost inches.  It's better to do as NormaRegula does and use a tape measure and how your clothes fit.

I lost somewhere between 15 and 20 kilos in a year. (No hunger at all) Less in the first 6 months, and most the last 6 months. It's been around 10 to 15 years ago that I was last this slim, and before changing to this diet, I had come to the conclusion that being slim meant being hungry all the time, so I had given up as it seemed like unhealthy vanity to starve myself. -I changed diet due to concerns for my health as I was feeling very tired all the time, and energy and mood improved a lot, then later came the weight loss as a bonus (I won't deny that my vain ego is pleased with that)

It does seem to me that my muscles are more defined than last time I was slim, (still no exercise    )

I eat mostly pork, (lamb when I can afford it -yum yum), and a few apples a day. (less than 3 is ok, more gives inflated stomach) When I try veggies it usually results in inflated stomach, or bags under my eyes, (or starting to have a weird feeling of not being able to tell if I'm full or hungry)

Since I started this diet, around April this year, I have lost 12 kilos, around two sizes or maybe 3 sizes for my clothing. My pants and jeans are two big now for me. I weight 63 kilos, I am 1,74 of high, is that normal? I really don't know.

Around my 30th birthday, I started gaining weight like mad. Before that, I could eat whatever I wanted and never gained more than 2 or 3 kg. When I started going gluten-free in mid 2010, I was ca. 78 kg. I stalled at ca. 70 kg until I went dairy-free, then I lost another 8 kg. That translates to about three clothes sizes in total. Basically I went back to the weight I had before I turned 30. Now I'm ca. same hight, same weight as you, loreta. Not sure if it's normal, but you're not alone :)

You may want to reconsider eating up to 3 apples a day. I don't think it's a good idea -- one a day occasionally in season is probably fine, depending on the person. You can search for the negative effects of too much fruit on the forum and SOTT (which would include too much fructose and insoluble fiber, etc.).

Thanks ST, Yes I know, usually I eat only one or two in a day. I'm still to do a testing time, and some more studying to find what I can eat or not, and so far the apples have worked (when not too many) so they have been allowed on my list (and taste good with pork)

Hi Miss K, apples are high in sugar, which means they should be avoided.  If you need to eat fruit, you should stick to low sugar berries if at all possible.  If you have upped your fat intake, it is a very dangerous combination to also eat sugar at the same time (even fruit sugar).  There is a lot of information on this in the 'life without bread' thread so I'd suggest that you get up to speed on the science of all this before doing damage to your body with a high fat/sugar combination.

Yep, I know.  My pants are looser in the waist but a bit snug in the thighs at the moment.  I guess it's all the kettlebell squats. :D

Thanks Anart, yes I know that apples are high on sugar, -they just didn't seem to give problems unless too many, berries neither  (and yes I know that it is dangerous for me, and at own risk to not read more than I do. I am working on it)

-reading all of the thread is on my to do list

Another 'skinny putting on a few'.

My weight hasn't really changed in over 20 years(68k) but just recently, as summer began, I upped my carbs(veggies mostly) to about 70g/day and immediately added a few pounds. No doubt related.

Not so sure that was a good move as my energy levels aren't quite as high and there isn't a need to add more weight.

The discussion around eating(drinking) fatty broth/semi fasting(in 'Life After Bread') sure piqued my interest as a possible solution. Having a hard time with eating much at all right now, especially high-fat meals.

Loreta, you look great! My mother started joining me in this paleo lifestyle - results does matter.

2months on, I'm at my high school weight of 45-46kgs. Been drinking coconut oil and plenty of grass fed butter. Now I've cut down aerobics to twice per week and upped HIIT and resistance training to get a stronger body.

I lost 29lbs today! I.e. last year I was 239lbs, this year: 210lbs.
And the poop is very small and longer times between "dumps"
But the KD started at least a couple months ago if not earlier.

I have been on the low carb diet for the last 4 months, still preparing for full KD but starting out at 180lbs. I am already down to 158lbs. and holding steady. I have gained some muscle as well, without doing much resistance training, and walking plenty daily. I'm definitely in the best shape of my life, with the lowest body fat and highest energy I have ever had!

I am still loosing weight, maybe one day I will disappear? :/ That is what the old people here in the village are telling me, when they see me.  The important thing is to feel well. For now I fell good, thanks to the diet. I have started to do some weight exercise to improve muscles. We will see. My husband, who is doing the same diet than me, also has lost many fat on his belly. So I think this diet is the best thing we are doing right now. The best decision that we have take in our lives. And I thank my IBS problem for that! (And Laura and this forum). (Specially Laura.) :)

I've lost a lot of weight since being on the KD diet. Don't know how much but I never felt better :). My mind is also clearer (although I still got my good days and bad days) but overall my concentration has definitely improved. Eating fatty meats and just getting the right amount of protein maintains my muscle tone and the bone broth has definitely improved my energy levels. Don't have much time to go to the gym so I do pushups just for basic exercise. My psychological moods have improved since being on the diet since I've found that a large part of my psychological negativity (such as, depression, anger, irritability) was due to my identification with my negative physical states.
