Here goes;

Child of Eight
-----------------

you are a child of splendor and simple heart
you stared into the stars
fearful only of entities without human heartbeats
with faces akin to dolls of porcelain

your eyes gazed upon two stars
the registering of a shiver was there
and your shiver is my heart
greeting and protecting you
my child
of eight

sometimes
stars will fall down from this sky of ours
and great waves will transform
to consume old things for her
and in this sight
the majesty of you doth retain shadow and light
illuminated together

you were a broken child of pieces without names
you stared into my mind
my child
myselves
no guns or men or dangers
no thoughts or dragons
no fear
no sufferings for you
even if softly undulating enticings encase them
or else whispers bear the might of rain

when the new comes forth
blinding truth sets free the old
in self-trusting is the heat of sustenance
in heat is the sun of our hearts
and the sounds of mystery dance forever
in the grand motion
complete

I think this is really nice, transientP.  I especially relate to the first and last stanzas.  The ending is beautiful. :)

Just beautiful and thank you for sharing it :)
When you are under attack, expect the unexpected, if it is going to cause problems… But, if you expect it, you learn how to “head it off,” thus neutralizing it. This is called vigilance, which is rooted in knowledge. And, what does knowledge do? Protects!
