Gah! I'm running low on my Organic Tobacco supply!

Yes, there are a lot of topics regarding smoking in the Diet/Health
category and maybe elsewhere, but scattered all over, so I have
started this topic specifically in the hopes that our smoking members
can help in locating organic tobacco suppliers for our needs? Another
question is, it is possible to buy group wholesale for our members in
that we can save money in bulk purchases?

Recent Internet search has shown that `Kentucky Select Organic
Tobacco' has been sold out.

Can you help?

Thanks!

If you're in the US, finding American Spirit Organic on line should be pretty easy. Same with Europe.

Hmm, is that the only vendor?  Are there any other vendors
including those outside of the US?  The google search choices
seems limited, esp. that of the organic variety and in the US?

I'll keep trying then...

My understanding that it is no longer legal to ship "rolling tobacco" in the US including AS. Kentucky Select Organic gets a pass because it is "dual use tobacco" and therefore "pipe tobacco".

I have been getting KSO from rollyourown. com. Checking the website they do, indeed, show all size bags sold out. I sent them an email asking when it will be available.

Golden Harvest no-addative pipe tobacco is pretty decent, from the same site.

AS can be bought here in tobacco shops.

Hmm.. thanks mac.

What bugs me, is KSO is from a single small grower...
so when they run out, we're OOL (out of luck).
Too bad there is no cooperative tobacco farmers in my area.

While I was searching, I found a forum:
_http://snuffhouse.org/discussion/4651/whole-leaf-tobacco-for-sale

and from the first thread, first link vendor says it can
sell leaf tobacco because it is not a tobacco product
and it and says it requires 'processing', whatever that
means...  The other question is, it it worth $15.99/lb
plus shipping, plus whatever 'processing' costs includes?
_http://www.wholeleaftobacco.com/Home.html

and the second link:
_http://www.leafonly.com/

Maybe all I need to buy for processing is a paper shredder,
straight cut and/or confetti cut

Another term that is used is "smooth pipe tobacco". It's cut for rolling and additive-free. The stuff I like is Kendal Gold - it is Virginia tobacco that is processed in the UK, then shipped back to the US. It's a bit pricey but lasts a very long time.
The only thing that seems to offer a way out is simply to observe the phenomena and compare the perceptions with a lot of other folks and try to narrow down the "constant" that is present in all of them.  In this way, we can have a closer idea of what the Third Man REALLY is, and what he is REALLY doing, and what then, should be our best response.  And, of course, "observing phenomena" means, in its most literal sense, to gain and gather knowledge of every form and sort so that one has a sufficient database from which to draw conclusions about observations of one's environment.

Here in Canada I get Yuma Organic (fair trade) filtered cigarettes through my local smokeshop. They are manufactured in Germany for Kretek International. Toll free number is 866-286-8585.

If you do the math, the KSO (_http://organic-smoke.com/) is actually quite a good value but I guess there is some fun to be had processing and blending leaves to create a unique smoke.

If you look at their combo offers (_http://www.leafonly.com/cigarette_tobacco_leaf_combos.php) the cost per pack can't be beat if you compare to buying e.g. American Spirit (including getting their shredder and an injector machine).
The cheapest Organic AS in my area is $5.93/pack so we're looking at $53/carton. 8 cartons would be over $400.

I was also looking at some other sites that sell whole leaf tobacco:
- bulk ordering straight from the farmer: _http://www.fdtnc.com/2011FDTNCPRICELIST.HTML
- grower: _http://www.localharvest.org/organic-tobacco-grower-M41619

For the sake of documenting, here is a link to a tobacco seed seller: _http://www.seedman.com/Tobacco.htm#1

PS it seems that Kentucky Select is back in stock _http://www.rollyourown.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=148_213

While we all might like to think we can transform our world by praying and/or thinking positively, we must remember that there is a great deal of evidence that real transformations of the planet have repeatedly been cataclysmic. A philosophy which ignores this fact is courting disaster.

Anyone smoking Kentucky Select Organic tobacco or other tobacco with sugars added--are there any significant negative health effects to smoking sugar?  The KSO is definitely way cheaper than the American Spirit organic (about 1/5th the cost), but the AS doesn't have any additives.  The KSO also doesn't seem to give much of an idea of how much sweeteners they add--any thoughts on this from people who've actually smoked and tasted it?  Even better--anyone who's smoked both AS organic and KSO willing to give a comparison?

Thanks for the help!

Don't know if there are any issues smoking sugar in tobacco. I do believe that there is natural sugar in any tobacco that results from the part of the curing process where starches convert to sugars before fermentation. And the sugars added to KS come from organic agave extract at least

I've smoked Kentucky Select for a year and haven't noticed any bad effects FWIW. Also smoked some American Spirit.

Gads, i believe that going over the border into Spain, might prove to have some benefit's.  Spain has a big following for people that live in France whom make the trek for Tobacco products constantly.  You'll see french citizen's buying bulk packs (lacking the knowledge of clean tobacco) cartons of cigs, 3 to 5 at a time due to the reduction of cost, and taxes.

They had American Spirit Organic, roll your own as well.

The next time i go, i give a look see, if vendor's are still stocking up on that brand, (unless you have different choice) and will advise you all on it's availability. :cool2:

Q:..Why do YOU think we are drawn together?  (LC)  I don't know.  I just feel something powerful.

A:  Every one here thinks on more than one level.  This already puts everyone into a different category than the status quo.  You all have quite well developed senses, a more difficult task is learning to trust the messages.  Remember, you all have received negative programming at the third density level, which is designed to derail your higher psychic awareness.   You by now know that this is false programming, but we realize that the subconscious centers are more difficult for you to overcome.

Thanks for clearing that up, Mr. Premise!  I think I'll be picking up some KSO on the internet and saving 80% the cost of the AS pouches  :cool2:

I've smoked American Spirit Organic for 10ish years and must say that they are incredible. I cannot smoke any other non-organic cigarettes. Since I began smoking ASO - all others takes and smell nauseating to me. Another interesting thing that happened after my switch from Camel or Marboro was the belief by some friend's that I had quit! Seems they just don't have that lingering smoking smell associated with ashtrays commonly associated with cigarettes. Also I have since even gotten engaged to my boyfriend who is a non smoker and he didn't know I smoked at all til after a few dates when we first met. We now live together and even allows me to smoke in the house provided I keep the window 'at least cracked'. And he cannot stand the smell of cigarettes.

I am not sure why this is and am not making any scientific claim. This is just the my personal experiences but if anyone perhaps has had similar experience it would be interesting to find out perhaps, why?

Peace-

Hi davidcarswell, thanks for sharing your experiences with tobacco and welcome to the forum :)

All new members are asked to introduce themselves in the Newbies section and write a little introduction (nothing too personal is necessary) on how they found this forum and, ideally, any of the materials they've read that are associated with this forum.

I too have found that the American Spirit tobacco doesn't seem to leave the same lingering smell that conventional cigarettes leave--I imagine it's probably the additives that leave that smell.
