A moderate earthquake occurred at 04:14:17 (UTC) on Friday, February 10, 2006. The magnitude 5.2 event has been located in the GULF OF MEXICO. (This event has been reviewed by a seismologist.)

It could be that I'm not thinking clearly today, but I cannot remember the last time an earthquake was registered in the Gulf of Mexico........so weird.  It's off the LA coast as well - not more south near Mexico.
