I noticed that when I move from page to page in the thread "Ice Age Cometh!" the data seems to come from earthscience.nasa.org. Why would this be?

Which data? Some images might indeed be linked and thus loaded from other servers when you open some forum pages.
Just google “site:cassiopaea.org earthobservatory.nasa.org” and you will see some threads containing that address. If this should be an issue (slows down loading times), have a look at: http://cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php/topic,26724.0.html
