BrightLight11:
Wow! I have read through all of the ideas and trials about spreading the word about Sott! I'm quite impressed at the skills that many of you have! As I occasionally copy and post a link or poster to my fbook page, I still feel that my efforts are inadequate. I don't own a printer and the pc I do utilize is ancient and won't allow me to perform certain programs. Would any of you who have made stickers, posters, etc. be willing to mail them to me? I would compensate for time, materials, and any due postage. I hope this inquiry is appropriate. I would like to contribute to the efforts in informing and awakening others who might be seeking...   :cool2:

Hi BrightLight11,
I hope your computer setup does allow for inserting USB sticks and downloading stuff onto them.

If that's the case, you could fill an USB stick with the materials you plan to distribute and take it with you to a printing shop. Most of those have equipments that allow for printing in diverse formats directly from an USB stick or from other data carriers, like memorycards and such.
This procedure would not only be much cheaper and faster, but it allows you to have your distributive materials ready made in the quantities you really need at any particular moment.
You could consult yellow pages or some sort of comparable guide or just google for printing shops in your vicinity, give them a ring first and ask for the data formats they need while doing your printing job(s). They certainly will be glad to help you out.

Just some thoughts, fwiw.

Hope this helps a bit.

I have done just that Palinurus! My SO purchased the USB stick and has aided my progress for composing and distributing SOTT material. Thank you for your suggestions!  :cool2:

Who knows? He might be the type to endorse the subversive use of his own material. Or not.  :halo:

This is the letter I just wrote:

RE "more than art"

Dear Mr. Fish

My name is ... I am an illustrator from Germany. I'm sure you are getting many mails from admires or even critics, since your artworks are expressive not only in terms of artistry but in terms of truthfulness as well. “Truth” is a currency that seems to have lost value in modern times, but it hasn't lost power. It's something that scares the overlords and frees the peasants, if only for an instant. It frees them, when they laugh about the absurdity of global leadership, the insanity of the greedy, the ill-minded and self-aggrandizing bulls running the china shop. It makes them feel a little more sane in an insane world. Your cartoons support their growing impression that their leaders don't live up to their expectations, or even that they don't at all have their best interests at heart. It's a common feeling they all share. It unites the many, while the few are starting to sweat beneath their masks, which are slipping out of position little by little.

Since I am an illustrator myself I really appreciate your work. I'm also seeking ways to communicate truthful aspects of life in my own way. I don't want to just masturbate in terms of style and virtuosity. Like you I want to get to the bottom of things.

There is a very promising none-profit-news-site on the web, dedicated to free and unbiased journalism: "The Signs Of The Times" http://www.sott.net/ It's another attempt to promote the truth. You know that things are heating up on our big blue marble. Everything is messed up to such an extend that I don't know where to begin. Since the few aren't willing to do something about it, the many must take matters into their own hands. Let's join forces! There is no telling how much time we have left. I attached a few flier to the mail, showing how this could take shape. With your permission, I'd like to promote SOTT while featuring your cartoons at the same time. What do you think?

With kind regards,

...

forget-me-not:
I'm going to write it a second time but handwritten. I also want to make it more personal and more attractive by adding some funny cartoon myself. It increases the chance of being noticed.
