The Chimera Vector

Thank you everyone for the congrats :)

Finally, the print book is available from Amazon US! And I suspect Amazon UK very soon. It will circulate through other online bookstores in the coming weeks, some automatically and some upon choice. And it's priced at $20.

I had a book launch on the weekend and we brought along 40 copies -- and sold them all! So I can't say print books are out of style.

On Google Play, The Chimera Vector hit #3, planting itself ahead of the 50 Shades of Grey (Twilight fan fic erotica, in case you haven't vomited in your mouth yet) trilogy for a solid couple of weeks. I'll admit that was quite satisfying.

G quote? Whatever do you mean? ;)

Well done you Nathan. :) Fantastic to see you get this off the ground. Wish you every success with this.

Congrats Nathan, you must be very pleased..I'll be sure to get a copy as well, I love a good sci-fi story.

I'd love anyone who has read the book or intends to, to consider posting a review on Amazon:

_http://www.amazon.com/The-Chimera-Vector-ebook/dp/B008DMABW4/

My publisher has given me permission to give away a free ebook of The Chimera Vector to anyone who is interested in writing a review on Amazon. Kindle ebooks can be read on any device, including phones, tablets, ereaders and PCs and Macs. So if you're interested, post here and let me know!

I have a cool idea. As an extra token of thanks, I'd also like to buy you a Red Pill Press ebook of your choosing on Amazon. That's any title written by Laura or any other author published under Red Pill Press, including Political Ponerology. There will be a limit to how many Red Pill Press ebooks I can buy people, and that limit depends on my wallet, lol.

All I ask in return is that you leave a review for both mine and your chosen Red Pill Press title :)

Mr. Scott announced a few days ago that Political Ponerology is now available on Kindle (see link below). It's in sore need of a review or two, so I encourage any Kindle readers out there to put in their two cents. I'm writing one up as we speak!

Congratulations Nathan, it looks like your book is doing well! I plan on picking up a print copy in the near future and will post an Amazon review for you as well.

Thanks mnmulchi, very much appreciated!

I'd love to give out print books too, but they are quite a bit more costly than the ebook.

Really wanted to share some very particular quotes from reviews of my fiction book, The Chimera Vector, the first in a series.

I'm sharing these because they refer to the illusory nature of the reality -- the same illusory nature that is explored by SOTT on a daily basis and discussed here on this forum on a daily basis. The war on terror, false flags, programming, secret governments, psychopaths running the world. (Yes, I took a bit of artistic liberty with programmed super-soldiers but hey.)

When I wrote this first book, I spent some time looking at how I could introduce some real world mechanics that we explore on this forum into a work of fiction. Would it be helpful? Would it even be noticed? Or would it remain obscure, like references from The Matrix? I don't know, but I gave it a shot. And some readers have noticed. Who knows, maybe more will?

Full disclosure: I think one of these quotes is from a forum member :P

Wow! The Chimera Vector was a great read. It scared the hell out of me because it is written with such relevance to what is actually happening in the world around us and even in our own country. It will make you stop and really consider this -- what you know to be fact versus what you THINK you to know to be fact. Thanks to Nathan for writing such a great book -- I won't thank him for the nightmares I'm pretty sure I'll have now that I've read it though.

A terrific military-techno thriller that is so close to possible reality, it should disturb you greatly.

Some may think it an odd choice of character for the 'evil' of the story but I can completely understand why a lack of empathy makes a great characteristic for a world leader…

I absolutely love that this book isn't so far out of the realm of possibility that you shake your head at the absurdity of it. Instead it left me thinking that something like this could actually be possible and the general population would have absolutely no idea.

I don't like to give away too much of the plot or the outcome when writing a review. Suffice it to say this is a fast paced action thriller with some terrific and believable ideas. It is well worth reading. I found myself suddenly thinking about the storyline of this book on a number of occasions in the days after I finished reading it, which means that it got under my skin.

I think this was more "Science-y fiction" than what most people think of as "science-fiction." I'm OK with that, as I love both science and psychology. And, since I have a working, general idea of most of the science being tossed around in this book, that was something that was more fascinating than a stumbling block. The stumbling block with reading this series will always be the completely horrifying idea that I may be living in my nice, tidy world while things like this are going on under the surface.

He introduced several things everyone knows and during the story gave an explanation of how those things were set up by the Fifth Column. It felt like the author was peeling a layer of my perception of this world. I think it was fantastic to read the book, however much it tore up my view of the world.

It's high time I posted an update on this thread. Since I last posted in 2012 about the publication of my first novel, The Chimera Vector, I've actually written two more. And third was published globally this week! :D

You can see all three here. Also note the special prices that will last a few more days. The first book is completely free and the second book is only $2.99:

I've also made a handy page that chronicles the journey of the main character, Sophia, for new and existing readers:
_http://phvir.us

Here are the blurbs for the second and third book:

The Seraphim Sequence" said:
Former black operative Sophia is among the remnants of the Akhana, a once-strong organized resistance against the all-powerful world government known as the Fifth Column. Branded as the world’s most wanted terrorist, Sophia barely escaped her last encounter with the organization with her life.

Now a new threat is emerging from inside the Fifth Column. Project Seraphim: a technology utilizing extremely low frequencies that can make anyone feel and do anything at any time. Mass populations will fall under the influence of an almost unlimited power.

To stop them Sophia must join forces with former friends turned enemies and former enemies turned unlikely allies first among them Denton, a master manipulator whom she would prefer to run her knife through than work with.

Sophia has four days. Four days before what little freedom the human race has left is gone forever.

The brutal game of betrayal and counter-betrayal that began with the international bestseller, The Chimera Vector, continues in this highly anticipated sequel.

The Phoenix Variant said:
Sophia: former black operative, current enemy of the state.

Moments before a catastrophic hurricane hits New York City, a terrorist attack vaporizes a museum and a large chunk of the Upper West Side. Almost caught in the explosion, Sophia gives chase to a suspicious figure running from the blast zone.

Amid the chaos, Sophia recovers a rare meteorite from a black operative and is quickly ensnared in a hunt between clashing factions of a labyrinthine covert government known as the Fifth Column.

The meteorite contains traces of the ancient Phoenix virus. The effects of the virus are unknown to Sophia, but she soon discovers it is more powerful than she dared imagine and that the Fifth Column will stop at nothing to get it.

Unarmed and outnumbered, Sophia and her allies hurtle towards a confrontation that will determine not only their fate but that of all humanity.

I saw a post on Twitter some time back about the first book being made available for free for a limited time on Kindle. I don't usually read fiction anymore, but decided to check it out and see how it turned out, and then write a review to give something back. However, after the free "buying" of the book, this is what I've gotten on Amazon's Cloud Reader:

"Error Opening Content

An error occurred while opening the selected item. Please try again later."

It's been that way ever since the day I saw the tweet.

Oh dear, that's no good. Actually the file you are trying to open has been updated since then. So it might actually work if you have a way to "update" to the latest file.

Otherwise, you can get it free from my publisher:
_http://momentumbooks.com.au/books/chimera-vector/

You'll get an automated email with both the Kindle and ePub version.

Here are my instructions to load the Kindle edition onto your Kindle account:

Instructions said:
You can email it directly to your own Kindle email address. This works for both Kindle devices and Kindle apps.

  • Log into your Amazon account
  • Go to Your Account > Manage Your Content and Devices
  • On the left sidebar, choose Manage Your Devices
  • Your @kindle email address will display here.

I'm going to place a zip file of these ebook files onto my Dropbox and share the link publicly here for a while. For anyone who doesn't want to download through a retailer. :)

Seems a lot of options - including a Kindle email - are missing when all you have is the "Cloud Reader" for use in the brower. I might be able to get this working on Windows (which I almost never use) by using the Kindle reader program, but I first decided to try another thing, which did work. I installed the "calibre" e-book reader and manager (_http://www.calibre-ebook.com/) and then used the files from your publisher, both of which work without issue in that program.

You can also use the Kindle for Windows or Kindle for Mac app. But it sounds like you have it sorted with Calibre, so that's great news.

For future reference, if anyone wants to read an ebook on their computer without using the Kindle Cloud Reader, you can load the ePub into Adobe Digital Editions for Windows or Mac:

_http://www.adobe.com/products/digital-editions/download.html

Adobe Digital Editions said:
  • Look for the books icon on the top right. Switch from Reading to Library view if you haven't already.
  • From the "Library" dropdown box, choose "Add item to library" and select the ePub file.

Having said that, reading a book on a computer isn't the most pleasant experience. I find most people tend to gravitate towards using a tablet and ereader, and occasionally their smartphone while they're on the move. :)

For Cassiopaea forum readers, I've made The Chimera Vector free in both popular ebook formats:

Kindle
For Kindle devices and apps on tablets, smartphones and computers

ePub
For all other ereaders, tablets, smartphones and computers
_https://www.dropbox.com/s/o0o3lhms6trkc5f/Chimera.epub

And here's a handy guide I've made for loading an ebook onto every device or computer imaginable:
_http://eepurl.com/TGH45

Note: the handy guide has links only to 25 chapters, not the whole book as above. So make sure to use my links here!
