NATO's Secret Armies: Operation GLADIO and Terrorism in Western Europe
Iconoclast:
i have read NATO's Secret Armies: Operation GLADIO and Terrorism in Western Europe by Daniele Ganser recently and want to recommend it here.
most of the members here will have heard of operation gladio and this book brings much information together and organizes it in a "country by country" fashion.
a must read for anyone interested in gladio or anyone who still doubts the prevalence of state sponsored terrorism.
the bottom line is this: there are no 'free' countries in europe - starting at the end of WWII all of them were kept in line by radical terror groups (controlled by the CIA) to develop in a direction desired by the USA and big business.

Thanks Iconoclast for the recommendation of this book by Daniele Ganser.
Just finished the original BBC video production documentary of same like and it seems the modus operandi or variations on the theme of intelligence operations utilizing state and ideological tools is the same wherever trouble percolates. It certainly makes one revisit many social and political rampages of the past and present with this modus of setups in mind, all the while the news feeds people lies based on elements of truths and half truths.
In the series viewed, there were many instances of note, but to capture one, at the very end was from the old police captain (Federico Umberto D’amato, Head of Political Police and Ministry of the Interior 1972 – 1974 who was up to his neck in these matter) as he looked on with private thoughts to his wind up puppet machine with a magician type playing a changing shell game with two cones – he says of this machine:
--- Quote --- These puppets, the French call them Automats, we call the Automi from the word Automatos, that is Automated Puppets.
It is the attempt to give life to something that is lifeless but whose movements and gestures are really quite charming. Here is a puppet that sums up what we have been talking about. This is the puppet of politics. This is the conjurer, the “jongleur”
--- End quote ---
And of course from the puppet master, James Jesus Angleton. Head of CIA counter intelligence 1954 - 1974:
--- Quote ---Deception is a state of mind
and the mind of state.
--- End quote ---
What a mess the seeds they sow create for humanity.
