Received the following today, which is a 60 Minutes piece and one that you may enjoy to see how music has shaped the lives of a few hundred people in the Congo, some walking a long way for rehearsals. The power of music, the smiles on their faces :); the Joy indeed in an otherwise difficult existence.

Here's a remarkable symphony orchestra in the Congo, 200 musicians defying the poverty of their war-torn country and creating some of the most moving music ever.

This is beautiful! And amazing. I cried...of joy. All my problems disappeared looking this program, this is like vitamins for the soul. Thank you.

Indeed, so beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Pretty awesome voyageur,

Thanks for sharing. Shades of the Wright Brothers in that they are taking whatever they have and making the most of it. The spirit of humanity will never die, it is in its nature to explore, to grow and to learn.

Awesome, it can be watched many more times.

The entire Carmina Burana (70+ minutes) is really fascinating, especially the translation and story behind the text. I was lucky enough to be able to help perform it in it's entirety as a teen with a symphony, and found it all quite amazing. I'd definitely recommend checking it out. :)

:D yesterday I took my 70 min. Although I was disappointed with the sound quality on YouTube, or was it my PC. I'm going to buy DVD/CD definitely to get it in DDD Quality.

Just choose the perfomers with care - there are many mediocre renditions out there (in any quality). I wish I had a specific group to recommend, but I'm sure such recommendations are out there somewhere.
