I, pet goat II
Pob:
As far as creative animations go on social commentary this 7min animation is quite astonishing.

--- Quote ---A story about the fire at the heart of suffering.
Bringing together dancers, musicians, visual artists and 3d animators, the film takes a critical look at the events of the past decade that have shaped our world.

This is a great piece of creativity. Can we call that an attempt to create objective art?

I thought it was pretty cool, though it had a somewhat of a 'Christian' feel to it. I perceived it as giving a message of "even though there are a lot of suffering, if you believe in Jesus everything will be fine in the end" kind of thing...
Though it was pretty open to interpretation, that's what I picked up.
whitecoast:
Why is it called I, pet goat 2? A cursory search hasn't turned up any Pet Goat 1.

That's the same impression I got. There were quite a few religious figures though - I wonder if the old, decrepit woman at 4:40 could be the goddess? I personally interpreted Jesus as the higher emotional centre, but I didn't like when Jesus torched the moth that flew to his fingers - that doesn't qualify as uniformity of impression (and therefore objective art) to me. But maybe I'm biased.
I think it was meant more to get people to think about things like that (In case they spent the 2000's asleep or something), rather than offering any kind of definitive answer or solution...

The prequel 'Pet goat' is supposedly the childrens story which W. Bush reads from while 'informed' of 9/11.

I thought the old lady (who was incarcerated in a big phallos) could have been the negative female image programming set free to be kali dancing for that mindsets destruction. But I agree the whole thing is quite open for interpretation. Following blogger made a thourough dissection of the animation, theorizing the animation to be an elite message for the new age: _http://aboutsalama.blogspot.dk/2012/07/heliofant-pet-goat-ii-annotation.html
