[Sinkholes] creating a google map pinpointing all of them for 2012.

During the exchanges about the 22th Jully 2012 transcript the surprise about the increasing number of sinkholes was shared and the idea about creating a customized google map showing all of them on earth came up.

This post now have 2 objectives :

1 - limitation of the noise on the transcript which is not all about that matter.

2 - collecting the data in order to fulfill that map.

If you are willing to participate, be precise as possible in order to get it the more clean and readable as possible. About that last part, every ideas are of course most welcome, I'm not used at all with that tool in the first place ;)

Hi Ekios,
Here is the link to my map. Combine it with yours by downloading it as a .kml file and then use the "Import" button on your map.

(Thank goodness there are no overlaps, since I did mostly America and you did mostly Europe.)

Also, could you please add me as a "Collaborator"? This is so that others can add placemarks to your map.

Will proceed with everything in an hour or so, i'm adding sporadicly the Germany ones but i'm not focused, to many things at the same time here :)

Edit : done. I will change the points we add in double in the US :)

My suggestion, in the comment of each sinkhole report, is to include both a summary and a link.

Actualy, I was only giving a description, and Muxel only the SOTT link. Maybe we should try both, i'll do the non us part asap.

Thing is it would be nice to have the list of points to add posted here, with a small English description as Date/Depth/Diameter and the link. I had the hell of a time with Germany and Google Translate :D

If it is in English or in French it ain't no problem for me, but the other languages would be problematic.
