Mystery EMF exposure?

Hey everyone.

I'm having a bit of a problem, and I think that it is some kind of exposure to EMF. Its the classic ear ringing. The thing is that it seems to hit me really hard when I'm at home, especially in my room when I'm trying to sleep. It is really hitting me hard. I'm going through some depression and stress at the moment, and this ringing seems to make it worse; I'll go to bed feeling pretty bad, wake up with my ears ringing like crazy, and feel totally apathetic and rubbish, worse than the night before. It seems to increase my negative feelings and thoughts.

However, the moment I leave the house it seems to die down, but when I come home it starts again, especially in my room.

It seems to build up the longer I am inside.

EE helps. It kind of dims it a bit, makes it harder to notice, but the source remains. If I don't do EE at all the ringing kicks my tail.

I turn off my router when I go to bed as well as all electronics in my room, and yet it still is the worse when I go to bed and when I wake up. If I go to bed late it is even worse. The more stressed or depressed I am the worse it is too. What's the deal?

I also notice it when I'm in the garden, but it isn't as intense.

My diet is okay, but not 100%. I still give in to sugar and carb cravings about every two-four weeks so I'm not doing it properly yet.

Thanks for reading. :)

Hi Explorer,

I suggest that you may want to tighten up on the diet and see how that goes. Think of it as an experiment - What will happen if I make these changes?

I realize it's challenging to remove addictive and comforting foods from one's diet, but perhaps it's worth it to try?

Two things come to mind in the EMF arena if you've eliminate things like wireless routers, cell phones, cordless phones, sleeping with your head near electronics (clocks, etc). The high frequency noise on your home grid (wiring) may be quite high. This can affect you through both the electric and magnetic field. The easiest way to check this is to shut the breaker to your bedroom and any adjoining rooms at night and see if things improve. Another way to test is to get a Stetzer meter and measure the high frequency components directly (_http://www.stetzerizer-us.com/meter.html). If the meter measures more than 200 (throughout the house sockets), it might be wise to install some Stetzer filers.

The other way you can be exposed to this noise is through the magnetic field caused by faulty wiring. This is usually due to improper crossing of the ground/neutrals. You can test for this with a cheap gauss meter (_http://www.stetzerizer-us.com/trifieldmeter.html). If you read more than 2mG in the open room areas, the chances are good that you have a wiring error that needs to be corrected. The trifield meter will also measure the AC electric field. It is good to measure the field around where you sleep - especially the head area.

There is much more info in the EMF Exposure thread.

Yes, it is pretty challenging. I'm making progress without a doubt, but only 100% really counts. I am trying and will tighten it up further. Chocolate is the main culprit.

Now this I haven't done. I use an alarm clock or my phone to get me up on a morning, and usually leave my phone on anyway. However, this ringing is present even if I have left my phone downstairs or if it is out of battery. The clock isn't anywhere near my head either. It probably isn't this.

Those meters are a little outside my current price-range, but I might be able to get one in the near future. However, I'll try cutting the breaker to my room. Never even thought of this before. I'll check the EMF Exposure Thread in the mean time. Thanks LQB. :)

When you use your cell phone, try to use the speakerphone and keep the phone a relaxed arm's distance away from your head. This will reduce the microwave power intercepted by your head by about a factor of 100. This is pretty tough in a noisy environment but you can always tell someone you will call them back.

Best to turn the phone off at night or remove it from the bedroom. The phone will continue to radiate periodically (in contact with the base station) unless it is powered off.

Some EMF sensitive folks describe your symptoms from simple cell phone exposure during the day. Dirty power on your home grid can also cause it (and many other symptoms).

If it is dirty power, the breaker test over a few nights should show you. I say to add adjacent rooms because the wiring may also run through your bedroom walls - its hard to know, in a finished home, where the wiring runs.

If you want to go the meter route, find some folks to share the cost if possible. :)

I notice sometimes that the ringing in my ears is really loud when I go to bed, sometimes I wonder if it has anything to do with blood pressure or fluctuating hormones, or any physiological thing going on in the body or inner ear. Although since you notice it most in your bedroom, I'd begin the search there. Are there power lines near your windows?
