Bundy Ranch and BLM motivations

paralleloscope

The Living Force
Since the militia arrived, media smokescreens and confusion about what the real motivations are, have blown up. Who is the boss and motivating force behind the BLM land grab. Not much credibility goes to the nature preservation argument (tortoises, frogs, crops) as described in this deleted BLM document (last updated 26/3), but which also mentions NGO's and disruption of a Solar plant:
_http://archive.today/nvlzr#selection-393.14-393.24

Initially I went with the fracking motivation as presented in this article, with a map 2007 of Nevada oil and gas exploration, with hits on Bundy's grazing area, though it sets BLM up as the leaser of fracking plots, and one would have to guess who uses BLM:
http://www.sott.net/article/277207-BLM-fracking-racket-exposed-Armed-siege-and-cattle-theft-from-Bundy-ranch-really-about-fracking-leases

Then there is SCG dismissing the fracking argument as his source of buy-ups (Shale Reporter) leads to different Nevada plots, up north

https://youtu.be/HFiosLqjoQQ

Instead he goes with AJ's infowars findings on the Senator Harry Reid connection with his former policy advisor now head of BLM, and pointing towards a family setup with Reid's son Rory being an attorney and allegedly representing a Chinese energy company's 5 billion $ plans for a solar field in the 'Dry Lake' area, and off AJ goes with the 'commies are coming'. Incidentally the same story FOX, Drudge report and others go for.
_http://www.infowars.com/breaking-sen-harry-reid-behind-blm-land-grab-of-bundy-ranch/

But as below articles claim; the grazing area doesn't correspond with the solar field plot (20+ miles away), they hold that there is a difference between the federal map and the one which AJ uses:
_http://mediamatters.org/blog/2014/04/14/spurious-cattle-conspiracy-dodges-facts-but-sti/198880
_http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/04/12/The-Saga-of-Bundy-Ranch

So, how to move on from here? It would be nice to pin it all on a greedy family, but it seems there are flaws in the solar plant motivation because of supposed locations and the fishy deleting of links seeming like a ruse (hunch), but also because AJ + Right wingers are running with it. As for the fracking motivation it's also a bit weak as the industry has plateaued:
A useful summary of the shale gas illusion comes from a recent analysis of the actual results of several years of shale gas extraction in the USA by veteran energy analyst David Hughes. He notes, "Shale gas production has grown explosively to account for nearly 40 percent of US natural gas production. Nevertheless, production has been on a plateau since December 2011; eighty percent of shale gas production comes from five plays, several of which are in decline. The very high decline rates of shale gas wells require continuous inputs of capital - estimated at $42 billion per year to drill more than 7,000 wells - in order to maintain production. In comparison, the value of shale gas produced in 2012 was just $32.5 billion."
White House Lies to EU about US gas supply to extort complicity on Ukraine
But then there's the rush for LNG export: U.S. fracking companies are licking their lips over Ukraine

Maybe there is no bigger conspiracy here but it would be nice to get closer to truth, and as mentioned in the 'April drop dead date' thread there seems to be a symbolic connection here with Crimea, maybe it's the tipping point for gluttonous enterprises, that their easy walk-over days have passed, next step is that the glove must come off?

I hadn't heard anything about the Bundy Ranch fiasco until today. The whole thing is very odd indeed and I agree that it would be nice to get some clarity on the real motivations here. The SCG video seemed plausible to me, but I wasn't aware that this was the line Infowars running with, which automatically drops it's credibility. Perhaps this is the point.

It will be interesting to see if this develops over time or just gets dropped from the MSM radar.

Glad that you opened a thread about this, Parallel. I hadn't been paying attention to this case in any detail until today and I was surprised to learn that Bundy doesn't own the land that he's been grazing. So he doesn't pay any property taxes and he also hasn't paid any of the fees that any other rancher would have to had they been grazing publicly owned land. His herd roams approximately 1,200 square miles or 768,000 acres and he hasn't paid a dime for it.

_https://www.reviewjournal.com/news/nevada/good-progress-cattle-roundup-decelerate
Early this month, just before the roundup got underway, a survey conducted by helicopter counted 908 head of cattle scattered across roughly 1,200 square miles of remote mountains and desert managed by the Bureau of Land Management and the National Park Service.

Conservative websites have been going nuts over this issue, and here I thought they were so against freeloading!

This case has been ongoing since 1993 when Bundy refused to pay any fees to the BLM, not recognizing the federal government's claim on the land. He's gone to court twice and lost both times. He represents himself in court, probably because he has no legal leg to stand on and no lawyer will touch his case. He did have a permit at one time but lost it when he refused to decrease the size of his herd from 1,000 to 150. He's been trespassing on public land for about two decades.

It seems to me that there are some factions in the US who want to 'stir the pot' using the Right and their armed militias as the spark. Interestingly there was an article on SOTT about how the U.S. sponsored coups all over the world have used violent right-wing demonstrations as a part of their regime change strategy:

http://www.sott.net/article/277442-War-on-humanity-How-the-US-coup-machine-has-been-destroying-democracy-since-1953
But we should distinguish left-wing demonstrations against right-wing governments from the kind of violent right-wing demonstrations that have always been part of U.S. regime change strategy.

Perhaps this is preparation for vectoring attention away from real issues (as was mentioned in the storm clouds video, where were these people when the information came out about the drones, or illegal wiretapping, or with Libya, Afghanistan or Iraq? Or now with Ukraine?). Perhaps they will try to control public outrage by creating these false outlets?

I've followed this for a little while. The oft reposted on sott site shtfplan.com has carried it since early last week (aside: the also oft reposted Michael Snyder's theeconomiccollapseblog.com and sister sites have not been updated in about a week, which seems long for them). Glad someone started a thread because I was having trouble figuring out the angle as well. No surprise the feds would be up to no good, but why are this rancher, his cattle and a 20-year dispute worth such a huge showdown? Is it about crooked deals for solar? fracking? turtles? all or none of the above? Either someone in the govt made a huge miscalculation or people are being duped into following a script with this one.

I stumbled across this:

_http://gopthedailydose.com/2014/04/14/betrayed-blm-agents-setup-by-feds-to-be-slaughtered-in-anti-patriot-false-flag/

In the summary and video above the individuals who were present for the showdown are convinced that it was set up to be a false flag, where the 20 BLM agents were surrounded by some 500 militia and were as good as dead had they decided to open fire. Then reinforcements of a SWAT team and more down the road would have been called in and the great counter-revolution would have begun. They seem to think the BLM agents realized they were being set up to die and "surrendered" to avoid a conflagration. No clue what is really going on but these guys seem sincere enough. Someone is obviously pulling strings through enough layers to confuse things to where something nasty really could result.

When checking out the various new's report's on the situation going on with the BLM and the Bundy Ranch, my first question was "Why NOW?" if this dispute has been "an on-going event" over the course of several years? If the BLM haven't noticed, beef prices are going throught the roof - due to shortages and many Rancher's losing whole herds in the hundred's, due to record breaking low temperatures and large heavy accumulations of ice, sleet and snow. Bundy is managing a healthy herd of several hundred. If anything, his ranch operation and herds should be protected? On the other hand, maybe BLM thought they could go in and grab a few and make a quick buck, selling to the highest bidder? And what's up with roping off an area with a sign stating, "First Amendment Area?" So there seems to be much more to the situation, especially in the militarlistic way the BLM initiated the confrontation? Cliven Bundy isn't a cattle rustler, he's a generational rancher with a family.

The BLM is in fact, not in any way a lawful Constitutionally recognized agency of the Constitutional Republic. Apr 07, 2014 - (HILLSBOROUGH, NC) -The American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign (AWHPC), a national coalition and its founding organization, Return to Freedom (RTF), today warned the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the Iron County Commissioners that any removal of wild horses from federal lands would be in violation of federal laws. The warning came in response to a threat and ultimatum made by the Iron County Board of Commissioners to the BLM that local officials would roundup federally-protected wild horses if the BLM did not. At the same time, wild horse advocates have released BLM-based data that shows that wild horses are greatly outnumbered by livestock on public lands in Utah and Nevada.

The BLM notified the Bundys in March it is closing nearly 600,000 acres of federal land in stages in order to impound Bundy cattle and then sell the animals at auction. The action is scheduled to be completed by May 12, 2014.Sunday, Dave Bundy, with several other family members, were attempting to get photos of trucks hauling family cattle off the Gold Butte area southwest of Mesquite when the physical altercation occurred. Although the Bundy/BLM battle has been contentious since it started in early 1990s, this is the first time anyone from either side has been physically accosted.

Apr 09, 2014 - BUNKERVILLE — From near and wide, armed men are trickling toward Cliven Bundy’s ranch, where the rancher’s fight with the federal government has become a rallying cry for militia groups across the United States.
On Wednesday, that dispute teetered at the edge of deadly conflict, when Cliven Bundy’s family members and supporters scuffled with rangers from the Bureau of Land Management sent to protect the federal roundup of Bundy’s cattle on public land. One of Bundy’s seven sons was shot with a stun gun, and Bundy’s sister was knocked to the ground; but no one was seriously hurt, and no arrests were made.

BLM sells 29 Oil and Gas Leases in Northeast Nevada
_http://m.shalereporter.com/industry/article_0de547ba-8ca4-11e2-ab4e-0019bb30f31a.html

( Please Note: article dated Approx. 1 yr. ago - March 14, 2013 ) RENO, Nev. (AP) — Buyers snapped up 29 federal land leases totaling more than 56 square miles in a northeastern Nevada area. This could become the state's first oil shale fracking site. U.S. Bureau of Land Management geologist Lorenzo Trimble tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal the Elko County oil and gas leases sold Tuesday for $1.27 million to six different companies. The auction took place in Reno. The leases are near where Houston-based Noble Energy Inc. wants to drill for oil and natural gas on 40,000 acres of public and private land near the town of Wells. The Review-Journal reports the project would be the first in Nevada to use hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, to extract oil and gas from shale deposits. The BLM is conducting an environmental review of Noble's proposal.

Federal Government seizing "trespassing" Cows from hard-working Ranchers
_http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/62334

Apr 11, 2014 - History is repeating itself on the Bundy Ranch, near Bunkerville, Nevada, where the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) spends its time and resources on “trespassing” cows. Hardworking generation rancher Cliven Bundy—the last remaining rancher in the Southern Nevada county is not the first and tragically won’t be the last American. As of yesterday the Bundy Ranch was under siege with 200 (count ‘em) armed federal agents and helicopters whirling overhead. Bundy’s cattle had been rustled off for immediate public auction, and the call was being sent out to patriots, including other ranchers, military, Oathkeepers and sheriffs to come and take a stand against the invading government bureaucrats. “Ranchers from Nevada, Utah and Arizona gathered to protest the ongoing federal roundup of cattle and show their support for the Bundy family ranch.” (Las Vegas Review Journal, April 9, 2014)

In 2003, Wally Klump, who had spent almost 71 years of his life east of Wilcox, Arizona out under the wide open fields and skies of cattle ranching, was locked up for a year in prison, after refusing to remove his cattle from an area the BLM said he had to leave. “The court repeatedly reminded Mr. Klump that the keys to prison door were in his pocket and that he would be released any time that he decided to comply with the court’s orders,” said Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Guerin, who handled the prosecution of Wally Klump. (J.D. Wallace, News 13, May 12, 2004). “Wally Klump agreed to corral his cattle so that he could get out of jail. “Mr. Klump hasn’t been able to establish any right to graze on federal lands since 1991, and there have been lawsuits about this issue,” Guerin said. Klump was accused of allowing some of his 28 cows to stray onto public lands when grazing. Complaints were filed by environmental activists to the Bureau of Land Management. While environmental groups lined up for grants, Wally Klump languished in a prison cell, where his wife brought him his 71st Birthday cake.

BLM wants to seize 90,000 acres of Texas Rancher's Land
_http://www.americasfreedomfighters.com/2014/04/11/red-river-rumble-blm-wants-to-seize-90000-acres-of-texas-ranchers-land/

April 11, 2014 - Byers, Texas along the Red River — The BLM stole 140 acres of the Tommy Henderson ranch thirty years ago. They took his land and paid him absolutely nothing. He sued and lost. Now the BLM is using that court case as precedent to do it again. The problem is, the land they want to seize is property that ranchers have a deed for and have paid taxes on for over a hundred years.

The BLM claims that about 90,000 acres (116 miles along the Red River) have never belonged to Texas in the first place. They will seize the land and it will seriously change the boundaries between the two states.

Land that has been in the families of ranchers is to be seized as “public lands” that would be subject to fees or blocked off entirely from rancher’s use. Or in some cases, moving the boundary line over to Oklahoma, where Texas ranchers can lose their rights to the lands that they have owned for more than a century. The taking of property from land owners, the stealing of cattle, all of these things are apparently the modus operandi of the Bureau of Land Management. (Note - fits in with Agenda 21.)

Nevada Cattle Rancher wins "Range War" with Federal Government
_http://abcnews.go.com/US/nevada-cattle-rancher-wins-range-war-federal-government/story?id=23302610

Apr 12, 2014 - The roundup began April 5, following lengthy court proceedings dating back to 1993, federal officials said. Federal officers began impounding the first lot of cows last weekend, and Bundy responded by inviting supporters onto his land to protest the action. Bundy claims his herd of roughly 900 cattle have grazed on the land along the riverbed near Bunkerville, 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas, since 1870 and threatened a "range war" against the BLM on the Bundy Ranch website after one of his sons was arrested while protesting the removal of the cattle. "I have no contract with the United States government," Bundy said. "I was paying grazing fees for management and that's what BLM was supposed to be, land managers and they were managing my ranch out of business, so I refused to pay." The federal government had countered that Bundy "owes the American people in excess of $1 million " in unpaid grazing fees and "refuses to abide by the law of land, despite many opportunities over the last 20 years to do so." However, today the BLM said it would not enforce a court order to remove the cattle and was pulling out of the area.

Fed's planning Armed Assult on Bundy Home
_http://rinf.com/alt-news/breaking-news/feds-planning-armed-assault-bundy-home/

Apr 15, 2014 - As reported yesterday, hundreds of federal agents are still at the Bundy Ranch and the area continues its status as a no-fly zone. Despite major media reports that the Nevada Bureau of Land Management is retreating, the remaining activity that still surrounds the ranch illustrates a different scenario.

Not only is the BLM not actually backing off of Cliven Bundy, Sheriff Richard Mack of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association has revealed stunning information: on Ben Swann’s radio program, Mack said that he has received intelligence from multiple, credible sources inside the BLM and the Las Vegas Metro that there is “no question” that the federal government is planning a raid on the Bundy home and the homes of their children who live on the property.

Former U.S. Diplomat: Send U.S. Ground Troops to Ukraine - CFR Member wants to heighten tension with Russia
_http://www.bobtuskin.com/2014/04/15/8172/

Apr 15, 2014 - A former U.S. diplomat and member of the Council on Foreign Relations, James Jeffrey, is calling for U.S. ground troops to be injected into the brewing civil war in Ukraine. Jeffery is a visiting fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, a beltway think tank controlled by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and associated with the neocon wing of the Republican Party.

“The best way to send Putin a tough message and possibly deflect a Russian campaign against more vulnerable NATO states is to back up our commitment to the sanctity of NATO territory with ground troops, the only military deployment that can make such commitments unequivocal,” Jeffrey writes for The Washington Post, an establishment newspaper often used by neocons to push pro-war propaganda and the concept of American exceptionalism, the philosophical basis for imperialism and warmongering.

Jeffrey believes a relatively small number of U.S. ground troops deployed to Eastern European nations would result in a generalized mustering of troops in those countries. This would likely result in heightened tension and the possibility of confrontation with Russia.

According to government resolutions published on Tuesday, the first issue is non-documentary government bonds with a face value of 1 billion hryvni. The second one is documentary treasury bonds with a face value of 100 milion hryvni.

The yield on the bonds issued at a face value of 1,000 hryvni will be paid every six months. Unless, of course, Ukraine pulls a Movie Gallery and between its payments to Gazprom, and paying its military to avoid some unhappy soldiers, defaults before even the first payment is made.

Comment - I get a general feeling that there may be a connect to the BLM's agressive measures in seizing property and what has been going on in Keiv, Ukraine? Crimea seems to have been a "Game Changer leading up to A New Super Power." The U.S. has fallen on it's face and Russia has taken it's rightful place on TOP. If the US can't control Russia, the only control left is the population in the US. Why not get Putin pissed off so he can throw some firecracker's our way, so Martial Law can be declared, to round the survivors up in First Amendment Area Zones? What ever they all have planned, the situation doesn't look good on many fronts.

BLM is actually a sub-corporation of UNITED STATES INCORPORATED, a private foreign owned off-shore corporation since its last incorporation in 1925, copyrighted, trademarked and registered in Puerto Rico.

The BLM appears to be the main agency used to extort money from ranchers and others, most of whom have used those same "public lands" to graze cattle on etc. since the land first came under Treaty through the tribes who originally inhabited those lands.

The case being that most of the BLM`s land is under Treaty for the use of the states through the U.S government and the tribes who signed over said "USE" of these lands.
The lands were never sold or given up in any way, and it is all still Indian land for all intents and purposes.

From what I understand from ranchers in Idaho who have fought the BLM for decades, is that public land is thought to belong first to the state wherein the land lies, second to the general public for "public use".

The federal government has no legal claim/rights to any of it, except through fraud.

It is said that the federal government can not own any land unless it buys it from a state.
Even then, it has to be under 10 square miles, as is D.C.

The remote BLM lands around Salmon Idaho for instance, are being used for "military" war games and the "public" who`s land this is, are denied access.

It seems to, that only the thing standing between this sort of federal fraud and the people who suffer from it, is a legal, well armed, standing state militia, who`s actual purpose is to intervene and stand between the people and governmental imposed tyranny!

Good interview - thanks. It does make sense that one of the original purposes of the BLM was to protect rancher use of the land for animal grazing. It was probably recognized (in the early days) that animal grazing is actually very good for the land.

Considering the timing and the fact that it is getting coverage from the MSM, it seems like this whole thing is a setup to vector people into wild conspiracy speculations and away from what the US is doing in the Ukraine. IMO.

I think we should take it as a given for now that this is what it seems to be: ordinary folk taking a stand and learning to say "NO!"

I think that interview of the Bundy son ought to go on SOTT. So should the Storm Clouds Gathering video. This article too: http://www.oldthinkernews.com/2014/04/flash-points-of-tyranny-it-doesnt-end-with-the-bundy-standoff/

The other data is interesting too, and sure it might lead somewhere, but there's no need to nail the precise motive or reasons for why this came to a head now. The point is the Feds/Powers That Be/Shadow government want it all, and they want total submission along with it.

From where I'm looking, the point of this stand-off is pretty straightforward: a bunch of cowboys and militia men from all over the country got together on the spur of the moment and stood up to heavily armed Feds. And the Feds backed down. Makes me proud to be an American :)

Oh wait, I'm not American. Ah well, they're human and I'm human, and like me they're learning to say "NO!" And that's good enough for me.

So I would savor the moment, not get too carried away, keep in mind that there could be games in play, and keep an eye out for new developments.

And then there is this one..

Calling it “the biggest land grab in the history of the world,” House Appropriations Committee Chairman Rep. Harold Rogers, R-Ky., said the “economic impact of that would be profound.”

“A community needing to build on private land that had on it one of these so-called streams that you considered a waterway under the new rule would have to travel thousands, hundreds of miles to D.C., to get approval,” Rogers said.

The congressman argued it “would absolutely freeze economic activity in this country.”

Rogers said the proposal is “proof in and of itself of the mal-intent of this administration toward the private sector.”

If you check BLM's history, they were indeed - beneficial to the Rancher's and their grazing rights. If you go back far enough in documents, you'll begin to see some changes in their operating procedures, during the first Bush Presidency. For some reason, BLM became more focused on environmental changes, then their concerns for Rancher's needs, especially in Water Right's. I lean more towards the reality that the organization has been compromised - to enforce environmental initiatives - that force individuals off certain land masses?

In the U.S. State of Nevada, Interstate 15 begins in Primm, continues through Las Vegas and it crosses the border with Arizona in Mesquite. The freeway runs entirely in Clark County. Many motorists use Interstate 15 to visit Las Vegas, as it is the only primary Interstate Highway in the city. The highway was built along the corridor of the older U.S. Route 91 and Arrowhead Trail, eventually replacing both of these designations. Once Interstate 15 leaves North Las Vegas, the freeway travels northeast and crosses the Muddy River at Glendale and then climbs up onto the Mormon Mesa. At Mesquite, the freeway then crosses the Arizona state line and cuts through the extreme northwestern corner of Arizona through the Virgin River Gorge before entering Utah.

Each of these three Ranches are located in areas of perspective zones, for a Super Highway to service the North American Free Trade Agreement or NAFTA between Canada, U.S. and Mexico. There's been countless studies and plans for the development of this Super Highway but I don't think much has materialized? Maybe the U.S PTB should have considered this angle before they got involved in Crimea and Kiev, Ukraine screwing up more than Trade Agreements?

With this event and Russia's recent strategies in the Ukraine, it seems like the momentum of the Deep State has been stalled. Too early to say much and don't want to read too much into it, but the SNAFU Deep State policies have had pretty much free reign for so long. Is it too hopeful to think the tide might be changing just a little?
