I find it interesting that the Sun has become very active recently. It is supposed to become less active as the Sunspot cycle is in a declining cycle however if you look at SpaceWeather now you will see many active sun spots.
Also there was a large "explosion" on the far side of the Sun, most likely a X-type flare:
"SIGNIFICANT FARSIDE EXPLOSION: Yesterday, Oct. 29th, something exploded on the farside of the sun. It was probably a sunspot. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory saw material flying over the edge of the solar disk (movie), while the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) recorded a significant CME:"
