Hi,
So it looks like it would be useful for there to be written transcriptions of SOTT podcasts. Here's what I suggest (a la Ad-Pop):
We sign up for one of the podcasts to transcribe in its entirety. No deadlines, just work on it as you can. Please only sign up for one podcast at a time; wait until you have finished it before starting up another. With one person per piece, there will be less confusion about who does what (unless you work out some sort of team, by all means go ahead).
I will post the list of podcasts below, and anyone interested in transcribing can reply with which one they are interested in. Please read and make sure someone has not requested your podcast before starting!

Also, I just want to check in with the mods et al that this is cool before everyone gets gung ho on it. It isn't really my intellectual property that's going on here, that's for sure.
AND
There should be some sort of team of editors, just to make sure everything is as close to being accurate as possible. I'm not sure on the best way to organize that.

Good idea, and definitely cleaner and more efficient than a bunch of us working on the same podcast. I’ll look into speech-to-text software and see if there is anything that might help…it seems to me that even if the software produced misspellings and grammatically incorrect output, it would still save some time.
It’s hard for me to imagine the huge amount of work that went into transcribing the C’s material! :)
