ONLY FORWARD IF YOU CAN READ THIS

Actually, not to be a party pooper, (this is why Atreides no longer invites me to parties - well, that and the whole 'police thing') but I think most humans who are fluent in English will be able to read this - the study itself implies that it ties into the way the brain processes visual language information - words as a whole and all that. When it says, "only 55 people can" - does that mean 55 people total, or 55 out of 100, 1000, 10,000 - you get the point. My guess is that most people will be able to decipher, or read, it pretty quickly, if they're fluent in English - but - with that said, it is a pretty groovy representation of how amazing our brains are.

Yeah...I can read it too. I think Anart is right. Most people can read this. I remember getting an email joke about using English written to look more like German. The think is all of us could read it. So if the first the last letters are in the right place most people could read it.

I'm on the party pooper side. Theres nothing special about being able to decipher that aside from fluency of english and medium level literacy. It IS a pretty interesting test to see if your 'self important bell' starts ringing...

There was an article about this in the local paper. Basically most people can read this, however people with dyslexia have serious problems. This is because dyslexics memorise exactly how the word looks, whereas non-dyslexics, as long as the beginning and ending letters are the same as the real word, all the letters in between can be jumbled and we'd still be able to read it really easily.

Just different ways the brain works. It's really interesting actually.

I could read it too with a few...jumps; I did it better in the spanish one...

I had/have dyslexia ...I have if not problems, funny situations, the other day I read "Smokings para Caballos" instead of "Caballeros" caballos=horses, cabelleros=gentlemen...and for a few mintues I was wondering what kind of store was it ...kind of special wardrobe for horses on special days? ...then the logic brain came to the recue...I must have read it wrong.

Try this one guys...

European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English".

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy.

The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.

Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.

Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.

By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v".

During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou" and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensi bl riten styl.

Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi tu understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru.

Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze forst plas.

If zis mad you smil, pleas pas on to oza pepl.

:)
