Songs for psychopaths?

Song about the psychopath mentality maybe? (Serving suggestion - play loud.)

He's Gonna Step On You Again - John Kongos (1971)

Hey rainmaker come away
From that man you know
He's gonna take away your promised land.
Hey good lady

He just want what you got
You know he'll never stop
Until he's taken the lot.

Gonna stamp out your fire

He can change your desire

Don't you know that he can make
You forget you're a man

Gonna stamp out your fire

He can change your desire

Don't you know that he can make
You forget you're a man

You're a man. He's a man.
He's gonna step on you again.
He's gonna step on you again.
He's gonna step on you again.
He's gonna step on you again.

Hey rainmaker he got golden plans
I tell you he make you
A stranger in your land.
Hey good lady

He got God on his side
He got a double tongue
You never think that he lie.

Gonna stamp out...

Hey rainmaker come away
From that man you know
He's gonna take away your promised land.
Hey good lady

He got God on his side
He got a double tongue
You never think that he lie.

There were a number of recent articles, such as this on SoTT: Homelessness in London soars by 79% since 2010 - report that brought back the memory of an old haunting song that I could not forget - a song from 1972, describing the psychopathic actions of the few:

The song describes these deplorable conditions people are subjected to, and the people who evoke them. It is a song of Mary and her family being evicted from the "town of Harlow".

Here is the music with the lyrics below.

Genesis - Get 'Em Out By Friday said:
Get 'em out by Friday
You don't get paid
Till the last one's well on his way
Get 'em out by Friday
It's important that we keep to schedule
There must be no delay

I represent a firm of gentlemen
Who recently purchased this house
And all the others in the road
In the interest of humanity
We've found a better place for you
To go, go, oh, go, oh

Oh no, this I can't believe
Oh Mary, they're asking us to leave

Get 'em out by Friday
I've told you before
It's good many gone if we let them stay
And if it isn't easy
You can squeeze a little grease
And our troubles will soon run away

After all this time, they ask us to leave
And I told them we could pay double the rent
I don't know why it seemed so funny
Seeing as how they'd take more money

The winkler called again, he came here this morning
With four hundred pounds and a photograph of the place
He has found a block of flats with central heating
I think we're going to find it hard

Now we've got them
I've always said that cash
Cash, cash can do anything well
Work can be rewarding
When a flash of intuition
Is a gift that helps you excel, sell, sell, sell

Here we are in Harlow New Town
Did you recognize your block
Across the square, over there?
Sadly since last time we spoke
We've found we've had to raise
The rent again, just a bit

Oh no, this I can't believe
Oh Mary and we agreed to leave

This is an announcement from Genetic Control
It is my sad duty to inform you of a four foot
Restriction on humanoid height

I hear the directors of Genetic Control have been buying all the
Properties that have recently been sold, taking risks oh so bold

It's said now that people will be shorter in height
They can fit twice as many in the same building site
(They say it's alright)

Beginning with the tenants of the town of Harlow
In the interest of humanity, they've been told they must go
Told they must go, go, go, go

I think I've fixed a new deal, a dozen properties
We'll buy at five and sell at thirty four
Some are still inhabited

It's time to send the winkler to see them
He'll have to work some more

With land in your hand, you'll be happy on earth
Then invest in the Church for your heaven

"Master Of Puppets"

End of passion play, crumbling away
I’m your source of self-destruction
Veins that pump with fear, sucking darkest clear
Leading on your death’s construction
Taste me you will see
More is all you need
You’re dedicated to
How I’m killing you

Come crawling faster
Obey your master
Your life burns faster
Obey your master
Master

Master of puppets I’m pulling your strings
Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams
Blinded by me, you can’t see a thing
Just call my name, ‘cause I’ll hear you scream
Master
Master
Just call my name, ‘cause I’ll hear you scream
Master
Master

Needlework the way, never you betray
Life of death becoming clearer
Pain monopoly, ritual misery
Chop your breakfast on a mirror
Taste me you will see
More is all you need
You’re dedicated to
How I’m killing you

Come crawling faster
Obey your master
Your life burns faster
Obey your master
Master

Master of puppets I’m pulling your strings
Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams
Blinded by me, you can’t see a thing
Just call my name, ‘cause I’ll hear you scream
Master
Master
Just call my name, ‘cause I’ll hear you scream
Master
Master

Master, master
Where’s the dreams that I’ve been after?
Master, master
You promised only lies
Laughter, laughter
All I hear or see is laughter
Laughter, laughter
Laughing at my cries

Fix me

Hell is worth all that, natural habitat
Just a rhyme without a reason
Never-ending maze, drift on numbered days
Now your life is out of season
I will occupy
I will help you die
I will run through you
Now I rule you too

Come crawling faster
Obey your master
Your life burns faster
Obey your master
Master

Master of puppets I’m pulling your strings
Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams
Blinded by me, you can’t see a thing
Just call my name, ‘cause I’ll hear you scream
Master
Master
Just call my name, ‘cause I’ll hear you scream

I actually think this one is about cocaine, not psychopaths :)
(but both destroys people)

Skyclad - Little Miss Take

Thought I'd got it right - for once I'd sought and found perfection.
when you said "I love you you addressed your own reflection.
I'd prayed up to the heavens for a goddess of desire,
the best they had on offer was one devil of a liar!

You can't be accused of procrastination
one brief separation - the dream went stale
You sever all ties with a swift laceration
leave so many loose-ends- (thereby hangs my tale)

Were you scared that the truth could have made you fatter?
The Oueen of Hearts - you dealt me a pack of lies
then laughed in my face like it didn't matter
that you'd crossed my heart and I hoped to die.

Licked my wounds and hugged my chains
believing you pre-menstrual
unaware love could be blind to torture cruel and mental
stn regret I must confess I realised too late
you re-define endearment as 'the tender side of hate"
I'm already broken - so don't kick me better
What colour's the sky in your world - is it green?
It seems I'm not even worth one paltry letter,
cast off like a tampon - you stamp on my dream

Were you scared that the truth could have made you fatter?
The Queen of Hearts - you dealt me a pack of lies
then laughed in my face like it didn't matter
that you'd crossed my heart and I hoped to die.

Could it possibly be that In your dictionary "Love' and "Lies" are defined
both the same?
I know how you can catch your ideal man
join a singles-club for the insane
The prize for my stupidity' - a noose about my neck
Next time that she says "Good day" make sure you go and check
Mislay your smile - this dacryphile is turned on by sighs
When she has her eye on you - good fortune and good flies

You can't be accused of procrastination,
one brief separation - the dream went stale,
You sever all ties with a swift laceration.
leave so many loose-ends- (thereby hangs my tale).
Were you scared that the truth could have made you fatter?
The Queen of Hearts - you dealt me a pack of lies,
then laughed in my face like it didn't matter,
that you'd crossed my head and I hoped to die
Both sickened to learn (and yet glad to discover).
that Venus once held me with (ch) arms so fake
I'd have once sold my soul for this faithless lover,
now I couldn't give a damn for my little Miss Take.

I'm surprised Head Like a Hole wasn't mentioned from Nine Inch Nails:

God money I'll do anything for you.
God money just tell me what you want me to.
God money nail me up against the wall.
God money don't want everything he wants it all.
No you can't take it
No you can't take it
No you can't take that away from me
No you can't take it
No you can't take it
No you can't take that away from me
Head like a hole.
Black as your soul.
I'd rather die than give you control.
Head like a hole.
Black as your soul.
I'd rather die than give you control.
Bow down before the one you serve.
You're going to get what you deserve.
Bow down before the one you serve.
You're going to get what you deserve.
God money's not looking for the cure.
God money's not concerned with the sick among the pure.
God money let's go dancing on the backs of the bruised.
God money's not one to choose
No you can't take it
No you can't take it
No you can't take that away from me
No you can't take it
No you can't take it
No you can't take that away from me
Head like a hole.
Black as your soul.
I'd rather die than give you control.
Head like a hole.
Black as your soul.
I'd rather die than give you control.
Bow down before the one you serve.
You're going to get what you deserve.
Bow down before the one you serve.
You're going to get what you deserve.
Bow down before the one you serve.
You're going to get what you deserve.
Bow down before the one you serve.
You're going to get what you deserve.
You know who you are.

Here's another one. This is from Al Jourgensen AKA Ministry. I can't help but see this as the inane rantings of someone who is ultimately defeated by the confusion of mass media. It's certainly an insanity i'm sure we can all relate to: "Inside, outside, which side, you don't know, My side, your side, their side, we don't know"

Ministry - Thieves

Thieves, thieves and liars, murderers
Hypocrites and bastards in laughter

Hey, thanks for nothing
Morals in the dust
Two faced bastards and sycophants
No trust

Thieves, liar, thieves, liar
Thieves, liar, thieves, liar
Inside, outside, which side, you don't know
My side, your side, their side, we don't know

Which side are they, which side are they?
Which side of their mouth do you suppose that it came?
Which side are they, which side are they?
Which side of the grass is greener?

Inside, outside, which side, we don't know
My side, your side, their side, no one knows

You're like a great big -flicking-g sponge
Just waiting to get squeezed

Breathe, forfeit erection
Toxical injection
Geriatric -flick--fest
We still believe in lies

Thieves, liar, thieves, liar
Thieves, liar, thieves, liar
Inside, outside, which side, you don't know
My side, your side, their side, we don't know

Which side are they, which side are they?
Which side of their mouth do you suppose that it came?
Which side are they, which side are they?
Which side of the grass is greener?

Inside, outside, which side, we don't know
My side, your side, their side, no one knows

You're like a great big hit of acid
Waiting to be taken

Wow, I used to love Ministry in my teens, now I couldn't listen beyond the first minute =/

Yeah it's hard to bare as we age? I think the angst of teen hood serve as a strong barrier for the noise, what's interesting is that due to this teenaged buffer that helps us engage in this music these ideas and realities are introduced to us. I don't really recommend listening to any of the psychopath songs from more recent/modern artists if you have aural sensitivities yet I can't help but admit that these lyrics are great interpretations of the attitudes of the majority of the people in power.

I've come to the idea psychopaths might not necessarily listen songs which include agression or passionate violence, maybe those are for angry people who clearly are frustrated with the world, or who have repressed anger.

I think, based on the empty pointless psychopathic psychology, that they listen to the most shallow pointless type of music, like a lot of the recent pop singers. No emotion. Maybe DJ's, electronic music. Something not so deep.

I concur. That being said, many of these aggressive artists that use passionate violence to fuel the counter culture crowd are still conveying a seductive imbalance the record industry attempts to instill into the youth. I'm more than certain, that all though bands like NIN and Ministry seem to have had their middle fingers out at the establishment at some point or through out their careers, that they are celebrated profit machines. And that they live lavish on el paso compounds or LA mansions, etc. Living a life style many of their fans don't have (aside from drug abuse or consumerism they themselves are guilty of.)

Basically... Shepard's of their own sheep.

As for electronic music or EDM (electronic dance music) again I concur, though it's not fair to brush of electronic music as a whole (not saying you are, but one could interpret you in such a way). There is a what i view as a sincere bedroom producer culture out there capable of making very deep and spiritually enriching music using virtual studio tools on their computers, and/or various synth and sampling gear. Complex experimental music that demand imagination and ones own creativity to enjoy. I also think that today's youth aren't tricked by the counter culture scene that permeates as aggression/violent music. they may shut it down or ignore it even though the message is sincerely in their favor as a knee jerk reaction.

Oranges and apples, I do take electronic music as a whole. But here one has to avoid a "deterministic thinking" (black and white). The fact that a psychopath likes a puppy doesn't mean the puppy is psychopathic in nature, or that it has one negative moral value or whatever the person interprets as negative. One thing is the psychopath taste, another the nature of the object. Nothing wrong with pop or electronic music in my opinion, but I sense we assume the psychopath lives prasing the devil or satan, which is not the case. Most psychopaths think they are doing the bests of the bests for humanity.

I've just stumbled upon this rock/punk song.

The Movement - Smashing Up The World

They're smashing up the world!
They're smashing up the world!
They're smashing up the world!

They're smashing up the world
I realize there's trouble
But we don't care about fools
Who undermine our struggle

With their greedy hands
and their pathetic leaders
Now it's up to us the world
ain't made for sleepers

They're smashing up the world!
They're smashing up the world!
They're smashing up the world!

Every bomb they drop
on every small existence
Will fill our hearts with rage

Help us build resistance!

They're smashing up the world!
They're smashing up the world!

With their companies
Their market and sh*

Democracy now who will deliver?

They're smashing up the world!
They're smashing up the world!
They're smashing up the world!
