That seems to be the norm nowadays. Here in Michigan, our hick town sheriff's department is getting one of the backscatter "naked body scanners". I guess they are removing them from the airports and giving them to police. It didn't say in the newspaper article if you could "opt out" or if it was inmates or visitors or both that they plan to use it on. The knuckleheads we have out there will be lucky to know how to run it.

Yeah, I remember reading a little while back that the scanners that are removed from airports will be sent to local authorities for use in government buildings.
