Crash of German Wings Flight over French Alps

Serbian official plane had some major trouble over Adriatic:

An engine on an aging Serbian government plane carrying the president failed on Friday, sending the aircraft into a horrifying 60-second plunge over the Adriatic Sea, according to Serbian officials and news reports.

The plane, bound for Rome, safely returned to Belgrade, the Serbian capital, after the pilot managed to steady it.

...

After the plunge, Mr. Nikolic’s cabinet ministers decided to stop using government planes and to take commercial flights instead, Mr. Fatic said.

The aircraft, a Dassault Falcon 50, was carrying 10 people, including the president and four political advisers, and it took off from the Belgrade airport at 9 a.m. local time, Mr. Fatic said in a telephone interview. About an hour after takeoff, at an altitude of about 33,000 feet, one of the three engines on the plane stopped working, he said. During the next minute, the plane dropped over a mile.

Hmmmh - strange story, there must be more than meets the eye. If a Falcon 50 looses an engine at cruise altitude, it is more than able to hold that altitude, just a bit slower. Even if a plane looses all engines it just goes into a controlled descent, a bit like a glider, only faster - it doesn't "plummet".

Strange story ... another case of "outside interference"?

NYTimes:“The aircraft became unstable, there was turbulence,” Ivan Mrkic, one of Mr. Nikolic’s advisers, told the daily newspaper Vecernje Novosti of Belgrade. “We were literally thrown around the plane.”Stanislava Pak Stankovic, another presidential adviser on board, seemed astonished to have survived the plunge. “Believe me, at one point we were literally dropping like a rock,” she told the newspaper. “We will be celebrating this day as our second birthday.”Both said a disaster had been averted thanks to the pilot’s “great professionalism” and “exceptional skill.”
Sounds more like the downdraft that floored the african plane in S Algeria.
Maybe Nicolic is that negative that he brings his own squall? Than better dilute that potential with a bigger aircraft, for safety?

There was some more to this story in news today - supposedly Mr Nikolić & co made all this up, there was no motor malfunction but, supposedly, a flight attendant has spilled coffee on instrument board in cockpit and accidentally activated pulling out the flops (izvlačenje zakrilaca ) while wiping it. Plane suddenly started shaking and plunging so pilot had to turn off autopilot which was activated by him after reaching proper altitude before very incident... And this trouble lasted mere 10 second before pilot gained full control of Falcon...

A report out of Vietnam, of two fighter jets missing while doing drills.

Vietnamese fighter jets, pilots reported missing in Ninh Thuan

Two fighter planes and their pilots were confirmed missing during a training session near Phu Quy Island in Binh Thuan Province Friday April 17, 2015.

NINH THUAN (VNS) — Two fighter planes and their pilots were confirmed missing during a training session near Phu Quy Island in Binh Thuan Province yesterday.

The Air Division 370 jets took off from Thanh Son Military Airport in Ninh Thuan Province yesterday morning. They lost contact a few hours later.

According to Major General Do Minh Tuan, deputy commander of the Vietnamese Air Force, the jets' expected crash area was 15km north of Phu Quy Island bordering Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces.

The Ministry of National Defence deployed forces for an urgent search immediately.

After hours of searching, rescuers found oil slicks and three of the jets' oil tanks in the sea. Authorities suspected the pilots jumped out of the planes around 10:35am yesterday when the accident occurred, but they still haven't been found.

The USSR-made Sukhoi Su-22 jets began serving in the Vietnamese Air Force in 1979.

On March 26, a military helicopter crashed in Binh Thuan Province while preparing to land on Phu Quy Island after taking off from Thanh Son Military Airport. The passengers suffered light injuries. — VNS

The whole story is definitely bizarre, to say the least.

Blic writes that it was not due to engine failure as previously announced, but because a stewardess spilled coffee on the controls in the plane.

On a side note, Nikolic is the only Balkan politician along with Tsipras that plans to attend the Victory Day Parade in Moscow.

http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/2015/04/17/bfp-exclusive-guess-whos-coming-to-the-moscow-parade/

Serbia

In addition to Tsipras, there is only one more Balkan leader that has explicitly said that he would attend the Victory Day parade in Moscow. That is the president of Serbia Tomislav Nikolić. Just like Zeman, Nikolić was publicly lectured by various EU politicians to reverse his decision. During a visit to Belgrade in March 2015, the head of the European Parliament delegation Eduard Kukan for instance said that Nikolić "should not attend the milary parade in Moscow on May 9".[8] Nikolić replied that it was "rude to offer the advice to somebody who did not ask for any" and stated that it was "in vain" to try to put pressure on him to go against the interests and opinions of the vast majority of the Serbian people.[9]

At this point, it appears that not only will Nikolić attend the parade, but also a Serbian military unit will march together with the Russian troops in what is called "the parade of victors".[10] This will no doubt expose Serbia to even bigger pressures and threats from the US-NATO Empire.

The recent statement of the Albanian prime minister Edi Rama (Albania is a member of NATO and probably the most US-controlled state in the Balkans) should be seen from this perspective. In an interview for a Kosovo TV station, Rama said that if the EU did not enable the union of Albania and Kosovo within its framework, they will unite in another way.[11] There is some controversy about the exact translation of Rama's statement,[12] but the implicit meaning is unmistakable: Albanians in Albania and Albanians in Kosovo should be politically united in the near future. This geopolitical narrative may lead to a serious destabilization of the Balkans in the coming years.

It is indicative of the geopolitical stakes that Rama's statement was condemned by both the EU[13] and Russia,[14] though the Serbian foreign minister Ivica Dačić complained that the reaction of Brussels was "lukewarm".[15] It is interesting that the European Parliament member Kukan, who earlier criticized Nikolić's decision to attend the Moscow parade, stated that he did not like Rama's statement and that it made him "nervous".[16] In my opinion, by saying this, he was in fact trying to cover up his own deep involvement in the US-NATO strategy to punish Serbia for disobedience. But, in order to make sure that he is not misinterpreted by his "Euro-Atlantic" mentors, Kukan in the same interview explicitly condemned the Serbian policy of military neutrality.

So actually it may well have been a "warning shot" to the Serbs in temporarily taking over the plane to signal them that attending the victory parade in Moscow is a bad idea. I hope they don't take out another airliner just to make their point when the Serbian delegation travels to Russia. The Empire seems to get more and more desperate to keep their flock together.

US Air Force Jet Goes Missing Over English Channel - http://sputniknews.com/europe/20150429/1021506880.html

A US Air Force refueling jet, Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker, has reportedly disappeared off the radar over the English Channel.

A US Air Force refuelling jet, the Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker has apparently went off radar over the English Channel.

The jet left Amiens in northern France at 0.05am local time and was last reported by a flight tracking website to be flying between Dover and Calais.

Fifteen minutes after take-off, at 0.20am, the aircraft fell off the tracking website and apparently off the radar.

The military aircraft, which is based at Mildenhall in Suffolk, was using the call sign QID72.

The Boeing plane is used to refuel jets mid-flight and can carry up to 31,000 gallons of fuel.

The US Air Force has not yet issued any information about the whereabouts of the plane, but the British media claims that it may have experienced an in-flight emergency over the Channel.

The Ministry of Defense said it did not have any information on the apparent vanishing of the jet.

Well, all that is certainly interesting: planes falling out of the sky and/or disappearing all around.

I keep remembering:

And one wonders if that war is essentially fought with comets, asteroids, etc.???

This asteroid stuff nicely fits into C's comment 'War is through our (3D) mind'.

And now, this:

American Airlines planes grounded by iPad app error

A faulty app caused American Airlines to ground dozens of its jets on Tuesday.

The glitch caused iPad software - used by the planes' pilots and co-pilots for viewing flight plans - to stop working.

The firm's cockpits went "paperless" in 2013 to save its staff having to lug heavy paperwork on board. AA estimated the move would save it more than $1.2m (£793,600) in fuel every year.

[...]

A spokesman for the airline was unable to confirm the report.

American Airlines is not the only carrier whose pilots and cabin crew have switched from using physical charts and paper manuals to tablets.

United Airlines was also an early adopter of iPads, while Delta has opted for Microsoft's Surface tablets instead.

British Airways and Ryanair are among others still in the process of shifting to so-called Electronic Flight Bag-based systems.

In addition to saving on fuel costs, it is also suggested that such kit reduces flight preparation time, reduces the likelihood of injuries and helps staff by offering real-time updates.

There is competition between several firms to provide the software and support that make the technology possible.

American Airlines pilots use an app called FliteDeck, which is made by the Boeing subsidiary Jeppesen.

A spokeswoman for the firm was unable to provide comment when contacted by the BBC.

Jeppesen in an interesting company: bought by Boeing in 2000 and according to Wikipedia:

On October 23, 2006, the New Yorker reported that Jeppesen handled the logistical planning for the CIA's extraordinary rendition flights. The allegation is based on information from an ex-employee who quoted Bob Overby, managing director of the company as saying "We do all of the extraordinary rendition flights — you know, the torture flights. Let's face it, some of these flights end up that way. It certainly pays well."

Interesting in that 1994 + 18 = 2012
That was a magic date... ;-)
The marked increase in "events" of all kinds could be a manifestation of this war as could the current mental state of the human species. From the point of view of this particular "frog", it sure seems like its getting hot in this pot.

Yesterday morning a 737 KLM flight to Edinboro turned back to Amsterdam due to "engine failure".

The jet however landed an hour later at RAF Mildenhall, the Royal Air Force station located near Mildenhall in Suffolk.

‘KC-135 Stratotanker with call sign QUID 72 experienced an in-flight emergency at approximately 12:20 a.m. today. It safely returned to RAF Mildenhall at 1:20 a.m. There were no injuries," British media is quoting the sources at the base as saying.

They military officials are investigating what has happened, and why the plane has gone off the radar. According to planefinder.net, the jet sent out squawk 7700 which means ‘Emergency’ shortly before it disappeared.

And more plane weirdness of today:

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/holiday-jet-carrying-brits-makes-5596651

A holiday jet carrying passengers to Scotland declared an emergency and was forced to make a dramatic U-turn over the North Sea.

The KLM flight, which left Amsterdam's Schipol airport shortly before 7am, was approaching the UK near Leeds when it turned around.

The flight was due to land at Edinburgh Airport after 8am, reports the Daily Record.

Aviation watchers said it was a 'mystery' why the flight was circling back to Amsterdam when its destination airport was closer.

The pilot sent out the standard 7700 emergency code.

It is understood to be a technical fault.

Was something strange going on over Britain last night and in the morning?

I wonder if there was something strange, too.

To the U-turn back to Schipol rather than proceed to Edinburgh, there might be a sensible explanation:
KLM's home base is Schipol. If the plane was in need of repairs, having it looked after and fixed at Schipol would save much money and logistics.
Such a decision is usually taken in concert between pilots and flight operations, discussing it over HF or sat radio link.
Of course, the perceived gravity of the malfunction is a key factor. If it is assessed to potentially precipitate in a catastrophic way, every minute counts and the closest suitable airport is chosen.
