Etidorhpa by John Uri Lloyd

I was reading Joseph H. Cater's "The Ultimate Reality," and in his discussion he mentioned this book. He said that while it was in fiction form, he thought the book was based on real knowledge of a person's travel deep underground. The book "Etidorhpha" was published in 1897 and this book is quite a gem. Not only does it involve a mysterious being leading a man deep through the underground via a secret passage in Kentucky, but I was surprised to find out that the deeper the man goes underground, the more he begins to change to the point that he literally becomes a 4th density person by the description! There are plenty of discussions in the book that still hold up today and while the main focus of discussion is whether the underground descriptions are real or imaginative, there is more to this book than just discussions of the underground. You can find the book online and this certainly adds to "The Work." This book seems way ahead of its time and I was surprised I hadn't heard of this book before.

One last comment...notice anything about the title of the book? Hint...read it backwards! ;-)

Thanks for sharing and recommending, findit.

While searching for the book (in PDF-format preferably), I stumbled upon a website that displays 30 illustrations from the book, some of them with snippets of the book text next to them. Lovely old-fashioned drawing style, definitely worth a peek.
