Visitors who venture onto or too close to North Sentinel Island risk being attacked by members of a mysterious tribe who have rejected modern civilization and prefer to have zero contact with the outside world.

That was certainly strange!

I wonder what they would think if they were told that they could be bombed into oblivion if the Indian government wanted their island and they only continue to exist because they are a curiosity.

It is hilarious that they chased off a helicopter with bows and arrows. What might the masses do if they wanted to!

Those islanders most probably thought they were dealing with some sort of large bird, or perhaps a "demon" from the "spirit world", depending on what they agree amongst themselves exists in reality.. Or what their shaman says.

Quite the way people would think / feel upon seeing a ufo perhaps..
Except probably most wouldn't be flailing their arms about. :)

As for the tribe on the island, I can only imagine what's in store for them as a society..

See how nice and clean their beach is? I wonder what they do with all the "crap" that washes ashore...little wonder they don't want contact with outsiders that would despoil their pristine environment.

Very interesting, they seem to be thriving and in great physical shape which is rarely the case for populations of very small islands with limited gene pool. But perhaps this is because their genome hasn't been defected due to agriculture.

There is another interesting documentary with more background:

I doubt that they have problems with measles, lupus and other sicknesses this beautiful world
Thank you for a very interesting and informative video.

The Andaman Tribes

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andamanese_people

The Andamanese people are the various aboriginal inhabitants of the Andaman Islands, a district of India located in the southeastern part of the Bay of Bengal.

The Andamanese resemble other Negrito groups in Southeast Asia. They are pygmies, and are the only modern people outside of certain parts of Sub-Saharan Africa with steatopygia. The Andamanese are believed to be descended from the migrations which, about 60,000 years ago, brought the first modern humans out of Africa to the Andaman Islands. Unlike some Negrito populations of Southeast Asia, Andaman Islanders have been found to have no Denisovan ancestry.

Here is a documentary about them:

There is is a specific tribe called the Sentinelese (North Sentinel Island) who have in fact resisted any newcomers to the island by killing them . DNA analysis of another tribe, the Jarawa, whose members made first contact with the outside world in 1997, suggest that the tribesmen migrated from Africa around 60,000 years ago. However, the researcher in the documentary even says they were comfortable with the out-of-africa theory but then found archaic " white pre-African" chromosomes.

I wonder what we could learn from their genetics and what their true origin is?
