Russia's Foreign Ministry and security services internationally are involved in the search for a 19-year old Russian student, who went missing last week. The girl is believed to have been recruited by ISIS, her family’s lawyer said.

Varvara Karaulova, a student in the philosophy department of Moscow State University, went missing on May 27, her father Pavel Karaulov announced on Facebook. The parents called in police after the girl told her mother she was going to the university, but did not return home that night.

Security services managed to track the girl's phone and passport, discovering that Varvara is currently in Turkey on the border with Syria, Pavel Karaulov claims. She took a flight from Moscow to Istanbul, "presumably to be transferred to Syria or Libya," he added.

... The girl has also recently changed her name on a mobile messenger from the Russian Varvara to Amina, written in Arabic, her friends from school told LifeNews.

"This is a real threat," Karaulov told The Insider, adding that the issue of IS recruiting is being "underestimated" in Russia. Having said that he has been in contact with many people around the world regarding the matter, the missing girl's father said the threat "is not being realized, and no actions are taken to prevent it…People should at least be warned that such danger exists,” adding that the contacts he's built could be a base for an international "standoff network."
... so first they thought that maybe she was kidnapped by ISIL, but now they say that she joined ISIL voluntarily and most probably a criminal case will be open against her, here is an update from RT:

Nineteen-year-old Russian student Varvara Karaulova has been detained in Turkey after attempting to unlawfully cross the border into Syria. Media reports say she had been recruited by ISIS, with six countries on high alert and looking for her.

“Varvara Karaulova has been detained on Turkish territory by the country’s Interpol authorities. The embassy has informed the parents of the student,” said Igor Mityakov, the Russian Embassy press attaché in Turkey, Tass news agency reported.

The student’s father confirmed her detention, and added that he “hasn’t spoken to her yet.” He said that, as far as he knows, her condition is satisfactory.
Karaulova was studying Arabic and Islam in the Moscow State University.

On May 27, instead of going to university, she flew to Istanbul, leaving a note for her parents. In the note, she just asked her mother to walk the dog, but her parents couldn’t get in touch with her, so the 19-year-old was declared missing.

Karaulova also changed her name in WhatsApp to “Amina” and wrote it in Arabic script.

Russian investigators suspect she was recruited by ISIS.

A lawyer for Karaulova’s family said that so far there is no confirmation that she has committed any crime.

The lawyer added that, in his opinion, Karaulova‘s case is not about freedom of religious worship, but about “the clear and systematic work of recruiters, who kidnapped a young woman from Russia under false pretenses.”

A Russian Interior Ministry source said that if Karaulova was indeed going to join ISIS, a criminal case could be launched against her.

Not sure what to think of it either, perhaps it's just one of many examples of young adults being manipulated to join ISIS. If that's the case, it's good to know she was found in time!

Browsing for news on Sputnik News site, i stumbled on the latest update of the above mentioned story:

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Russian Investigative Committee will not file a criminal case against a Russian student, who was arrested last month in Turkey during a suspected attempt to join the Islamic State militant group, committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told RIA Novosti.

"A check into the possible involvement of Varvara Karaulova in the activities of the extremist community and her recruitment is over, a decision has been made not to institute criminal proceedings," Markin said on Thursday.

Karaulova, a sophomore of the prestigious Moscow State University's philosophy department, was detained on June 4 on the Turkish-Syrian border while traveling with a group of foreigners allegedly recruited by ISIL militants.

She obtained a passport in secret from her parents and left for Istanbul on May 27. Karaulova’s father said in an interview with RIA Novosti that one of the reasons that triggered his daughter’s escape was an online romantic affair.

I'm glad that the Russian girl is OK and the criminal charges against her were dropped, but can you imagine this kind of fair trial or human understanding from Western Governments if a similar case will happen there? She will be locked up in prison, most probably for the rest of her life...
It's good to see that on this planet still are left a few places not contaminated( extremely) by the psychopathic madness as is the case concerning most of the so called democratic western countries.

Australia has been somewhat 'busy' in this respect. Apparently you can get charged and detained for being forced to 'co-operate' with ISIS, especially if you go to Syria to do voluntary work:
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-07-27/alleged-is-guard-charged-terrorism-related-offences-remanded/6649380
I once asked Adam if the 'keystone cops' (AKA Asio) had approached him to 'spy' on his fellow mosque members. He said no, but that others had been approached. This was some time ago.

Apparently wanting to join the fight against ISIS with the Kurds is also a no-no.

I wish our government would pull their heads out of where ever they've stuck them and stop giving such mixed messages. It's like they don't even know who the 'enemy' is. Well, perhaps they don't. What else can I think?
