BTR - Studio Housekeeping - Audio Clips

Hey Kids...

Just a head's up for all the hosts and administrators of our 3 BTR shows! BlogTalkRadio somehow managed to delete ALL the audio files that were stored on our server there. I've gone in and trashed all the ones I've uploaded previously and will only re-upload those that I use often (music files, relic and such).

Everyone responsible for playing clips on their respective shows should go in there and trash all their files and re-upload the ones they use regularly. (intros/outros/etc)

For convenience and order, I went ahead and numbered each show, so that it will be easier to catalogue and play your audio files.

Anything related to Behind the Headlines can be prefixed with the number 1

Anything related to the Truth Perspective can be prefixed with the number 2

Anything related to the Health and Wellness show can be prefixed with the number 3

Anything related to Pet Health Corner can be prefixed with the number 4

Relic is using the prefix B

and any music files I upload will use the prefix L

If anyone doesn't care for this system we can change it to whatever works best.

I saw a note about that when logging in to BTR on Friday, but our intro and outro clips played without issue. I don't know if that means we were unaffected or they just hadn't got to us yet.

I don't think we need to keep any of the other clips for the H&W show, like old Pet Health Segments (assuming they're archived somewhere else) or the "California Parents Oppose Mandatory Vaccines" clip, so we can probably trash everything but the intro and outro. Unless I'm missing something.

ADDED: We should probably keep/re-upload the Pet Health Intro, just in case we need to play it manually at some point.

I went into the studio and did a test episode. The above sound files had no audio attached to them so they've been deleted as well. If anyone still needs them, they will have to be reinstalled.

"The Donald Trump on China" clip was prefixed with the word "Politician" to keep in categorical order.

And the "Russian Meteorite" - Chelyabinsk has been filed under SE - for Sound Effect.

all the old Relic segments were deleted as well, as their audio files were also lost in the transition.

Otherwise, the studio looks good and well organized!

More Housekeeping notes...

It would be helpful if audio clips for specific shows were prefaced with a number in order to keep them within the category assigned to that show. That way they will be easy to locate if everyone remembers their category number but still be quick to find because they will all show up on the first page. All the clips I use will be located at the bottom, so they won't interfere with the initial line up.

BTH clips - 1
Truth perspective - 2
Health and Wellness - 3
and Pet related - 4

For example...

This clip from a recent pet segment

1-PetHealth-FarmAbuse

could be renamed to look like this

4 - Pet Health - Farm Abuse

and this one, which I think was used on the TP show

01-Presstitute commercial

could be renamed to look like this

2 - TP - Presstitute commercial

You can also use 1a, 1b... 2a, 2b, 2c... etc. to have as many clips necessary and still be well organized and easy to find.

These 3 clips below , I don't know who they belong to so am not able to categorize them properly...

Any clips that were used once and won't be played again can be deleted.

This system is just one of many ways we could categorize the files, so if this doesn't work for everybody we can figure something else out. With so many of us using the board every week, I think it would benefit everyone to keep things organized as much as possible.

The Lisistsa ones were for the Truth Perspective. I can go in and delete those that were only for playing once.

I think the system outlined is good and will help a lot with organization. Thanks!

The outro for the Truth Perspective seems gone. Last week we used the outro from BTH and we can do that this week too, but just wanted to see if anyone has that file?

It's the same file, so you can just go on using the BTH one.
