A silly song I made up...

Woodsman

The Living Force
So I wrote this in my head while stomping by the local campus...

Heavy rock riffs and awesome percussion. Waaaay cooler-sounding in my head than out loud. :)

~~~~~
If you’re thinking of revolution,
I’ll be in my office from nine to five.
Come on by and I’ll teach you, boy
The method to survive.
You won’t need all those weapons,
Leave your shotgun by the door,
It's all beyond the pale, kid
It's a different kind of war.
Take a breath inside your spacesuit,
Try to make it last,
Recall your ghosts of Summer
The season's fading fast.
Do you remember that brand of chewing gum,
They handed out for free?
Everybody’s jaws were moving,
But not one of us could see.
Don’t let the politicians tease you,
There’s something different in their eyes,
They’re not even trying to fool you,
They don’t even know they’re lies.
You’ll need hair on your chest, boy
You’ll need fire in your heart,
Take all those fragile longings,
Take them all apart!
If you’re thinking of revolution,
I’ll be in my office from nine to five,
Come on by, you need to learn,
The method to survive.
:D Great! I love it!
I do the same thing, create little songs in my head that sound like the next hit single.... To me at least xP
:violin: hehe i like it, not bad!! you have a beat for it??
I did. It's gone now, though. Poof!
I find there's a certain stretch of sidewalk which is good for marching songs and humming and making up lyrics, but the experience is always fleeting, the way dream narratives are. I literally race inside when I get home to write things down sometimes when I catch a good one because I know it'll be gone in twenty minutes.
The sidewalk brings them back sometimes. I do a lot of amateur composing along that route for some reason.
My favorite is in the Spring. -That's when I get stuck on gaudy show tunes. I have half a dumb musical stage comedy rattling around in my head. Ha ha! :P
Thanks for sharing, those were nice lyrics! Sometimes I will mix songs in my head. And I don't know how to write sheet music, so when I get a melody in my head it fades because I cannot write it down. I guess you could just hum and sing it into your phone or a voice recorder though.
