What are you listening to?

Marconi Union - Weightless

apparently this song reduces anxiety by 65 percent, it is relaxing :)

A group of sound therapists and a British band, Marconi Union, have created an eight minute long song 'Weightless', which scientists claim is the most relaxing ever in the history of man. Weightless is a beautiful arrangement of harmonies, rhythms and bass lines that is apparently so relaxing that it is advised not to listen to it while driving. The soothing musical tune helps slow the heart rate, calm breathing, reduce blood pressure and also lower the levels of stress.

Thanks for sharing this. I've got the 10 hour version on in the background now. I shared it with my manager at the holistic centre and we are going to try it out while doing treatments. I find it so soothing.

Awesome, yeah it's great background music, I think they should have it in shopping centres, haha, might calm people down a bit, having it in the holistic centre sounds like a great idea! I have it on when I'm reading and doing my Tai Chi and Chi Gong

Thanks for the 10 hours long version of Weightless !

There was this release on Sott about this song, and there is a list :
https://www.sott.net/article/338304-Researchers-discover-the-most-relaxing-song-on-Earth

"We Can Fly," by Rue du Soleil (Café Del Mar)
"Canzonetta Sull'aria," by Mozart
"Someone Like You," by Adele
"Pure Shores," by All Saints
"Please Don't Go," by Barcelona
"Strawberry Swing," by Coldplay
"Watermark," by Enya
"Mellomaniac (Chill Out Mix)," by DJ Shah

My preferred, is classical music Mozart/Vivaldi... But one COULD have the same relaxed state with EVERY song, if one care about the soul and not the body :P.

Thanks 987baz! I will add it to my yoga practice and see how that goes. :cheer:

Yes Nico, sometimes classical music is the best way to relax I think, and said that I'll share this concerto from Gustav Mahler. Although his pieces are not that calm like Mozart or Vivaldi, yesterday I was listening to it with my headphones and it really puts me at ease, also it kind of takes you to another place hehe - or that's what I felt... It's a lovely concerto IMO.

And this piano piece is absolutely lovely too:

No offense to anyone, but I could not get past the first minute. (I tried 4 times).

Every fiber of my being stood up on edge, screaming. Maybe it's my equipment here. Maybe it's the bi-aurals, or sub-tracks (channels?), I dunno. There's a lot going on in that piece.

For the calming theme, I submit this:

No worries Marina9, I find that I alternate between the Marconi piece and the Samadhi album that was talked about on the C's session when doing my morning Tai Chi/Chi Gong :) I have it on spotify, but you can get it from iTunes too _https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/samadhi/id55206303
