The meeting took place on March 15th at the "Mercury" hotel on Bakhrushina street in the center of Moscow.

LifeNews has obtained a video of the meeting between opposition blogger Alexey Navalny and several international experts in organizing revolutions and overthrowing the authorities of different States.

The majority of those present at "the event" were experts in the environment of international diplomacy, and have a solid reputation as Russophobes. In addition, former Prime Minister of Sweden Carl Bildt was referred to only as "bloody Swede" — he was the EU special representative for the former Yugoslavia and high representative of UN in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The politician is known for having supported the NATO bombings of Yugoslavia and a number of other hostilities in the Balkans.

In addition, after the events of the Euromaidan, Bildt arrived in Kiev where he openly advocated the continuation of "reforms, which became possible thanks to the Maidan". He stated that on the square in Kiev where people were killed that, "The demands were simple and clear: democracy, reform, and European cooperation". The politician also said that "Ukraine was already on the way to a brighter future, but was prevented by the threat from Moscow and the uncertainty of Kiev".

Recall that in the Ukrainian mass media, information was published that stated that the Swede Carl Bildt would head the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in case the current Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, who has come under increasing criticism, were to resign. Later, however, the politician refuted the claims that his candidacy was being considered for the post of head of the Ukrainian Government.

As a result of the WikiLeaks publication of secret diplomatic documents, it became known that the US diplomats considered Bildt, "stubborn", "arrogant", and having "limited diplomatic skills".

Also, Bulgarian political analyst and researcher of post-Communist situation in Russia Ivan Krastev came to visit Navalny. He is known for saying: "I don't know people who want to live in Russia", as well as thoughts about the Maidan: "In Kiev power appeared, which was violent, and five hundred thousand people came to the street ."

Supporter of Navalny and a regular opposition rallies in Moscow Carmen Claudine, Associate Director of greater Europe European Council on Foreign Relations Vesela Cherneva, top management of the largest oil and gas company of Norway Statoil Geir Westgaard, and others attended. The group consisted of 12 people.

The guests entered the lobby of the hotel at six in the evening, where visitors personally greeted Navalny and his press Secretary Kira Yarmysh. Next, the visitors went up into the rooms. The conversation was held at reception and in the meeting rooms. After an hour and a half of negotiations between Navalny and his guests, they left the hotel.

On December 30th, 2014, Navalny was sentenced to a conditional 3.5 years for swindling 4 million roubles on the delivery of goods from Yaroslavl to Moscow by the cosmetic company "Yves Rocher".

The pilot is safe

MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. A Sukhoi Su-25 attack aircraft crashed on Wednesday during the landing at an airfield in Russia’s Far Eastern Primorye territory, the defense ministry said.

The Su-25 jet (NATO reporting name: "Frogfoot") was performing a training flight, the ministry’s press service said.

"The pilot ejected, his life and health are not under threat. The flight was made without an ammunition allowance. There are no casualties or destruction on the ground," it said.

A ministry’s commission for flights safety is heading to the crash scene.

A source in the law enforcement agencies earlier told TASS that the aircraft crashed near Chernigovka airfield due to "engine malfunction."

The local administration confirmed that crash occurred in Primorye’s Chernigovsky settlement, adding that there were no casualties or serious destruction.

Operation Beluga: A US-UK Plot to Discredit Putin and Destabilize the Russian Federation

Editors Note: Yesterday in a story by Ricky Twisdale http://russia-insider.com/en/politics/bombshell-french-counter-terror-boss-i-have-proof-who-killed-litvinenko-it-wasnt-russia we referenced this article which broke the news about Operation Beluga in OpEdNews on Sunday March 27, and it drew a lot of reader interest. We now present that original article in its entirety below.

Renowned French security expert Paul Barril has let loose a bombshell: the existence of Operation Beluga, a covert Western intelligence scheme intended to undermine Russia and its leaders.

Is that what's behind much of the threatening rhetoric now going back and forth between the US and Russia?

Barril exposed Operation Beluga in a recent interview with Swiss businessman Pascal Najadi on the 2006 Alexander Litvinenko death case. Litvinenko was a reputed former spy who many believe was murdered with radioactive polonium on orders of Vladimir Putin.

Najadi says the interview drew out the converse revelation that Litvinenko was actually killed by "an Italian who administered the deadly polonium 210." What's more, he astonishingly says, the operation was carried out under the auspices of the US and UK.

In my books The Phony Litvinenko Murder and Litvinenko Murder Case Solved I've written about an Italian connection. But I can't confirm that Barril is talking about the same person.

Here's what Najadi told me:

"According to Paul Barril, Litvinenko was himself working for the late Boris Berezovsky [a Russian fugitive oligarch that made London his home] who, according to Barril, was in turn working for and with the British intelligence service MI6. Barril said, 'Litvinenko has betrayed his employers, Berezovsky and the MI6, and has pocketed large sums of money, millions of US dollars, that were destined for agent provocateurs within the Berezovsky clan. The sole goal was to globally discredit Putin and the Russian Federation. This Western intelligence operation was directed from Washington DC and London. Its code name is Beluga.'"
Barril's comments deserve serious consideration. A former officer of the French Gendarmerie Nationale, he's been dubbed "Supercop" in France. Barril is cofounder of the GIGN French antiterror group, and has also served in French presidential security. During his career he has led several private security companies, as well.

Najadi says, "These new revelations from Captain Paul Barril now open a new window to the truth about the motive for killing Alexander Litvinenko."

Litvinenko's death has been a hot topic for officials within British officialdom. A UK coroner's inquest failed to reach a verdict on the manner and cause of Litvinenko's death, even after the passage of almost ten years. Then a politically-motivated official inquiry was authorized by Prime Minister David Cameron. Its final report hypothesized that Putin was behind the death, but it failed to produce any credible evidence. (See "Six Reasons You Can't Take the Litvinenko Report Seriously")

Britain had accused two Russians of poisoning Litvinenko. But the UK prosecutor failed to make his case against them, claiming that he had only "grave suspicions" about who's to blame. Then there was the aborted coroner's inquest, and finally a report was issued under suspicious circumstances by a discredited judge who lacked the basic qualifications for conducting an official inquiry. (See "Britain Allowed Unqualified Judge to Decide Litvinenko Case. Now Inquiry Report Must Be Recalled" and "Discredited Litvinenko 'Judge' Sends Parliament Untrustworthy Verdict.")

Now the Litvinenko scandal takes on a new proportion. It's no longer just an incessantly long-running murder mystery. It just might be the telltale sign of an enormous geopolitical provocation that is wreaking havoc with world stability.

In the run-up to the American presidential election many of the candidates have talked very tough on dealing with Russia's role in the world. I wonder how many of them have bought into the Beluga scheme.

Three landmines set off on way of police motor convoy in Dagestan — source

http://tass.ru/en/society/866038

A criminal case has been opened over the motor convoy explosion in which one policeman was killed and two others were injured

MAKHACHKALA, March 30. /TASS/. Three landmines exploded on Tuesday evening on the way of a police motor convoy in Dagestan. The total yield of the explosives was equivalent to 8 kg TNT, a source in the republic’s law enforcement agencies told TASS on Wednesday.

"The bomb experts have found out that there were three landmines. One had the yield of 5 kg TNT and two others - 1.5 kg TNT each. All the three landmines exploded," the source added.

A criminal case has been opened under four articles of the Russian Criminal Code over the motor convoy explosion in which one policeman was killed and two injured.

According to investigators, two explosive devices planted on the roadside on the 869th km of the Kavkaz federal highway were set off on March 29 at around 20:30 when a police motor convoy was driving by.

A source in the republic’s security service told TASS on Wednesday that militants of a local gang are involved in the motor convoy explosion. "Militants from the so-called Khushet gang (from Makhachkala’s suburb Novy Khushet) are suspected of this crime," he said.

According to the source, the police are ascertaining whether militants of this gang have sworn allegiance to the Islamic State terrorist organization.

Terrorist act prevented in Russia's Dagestan — National Antiterrorism Committee

http://tass.ru/en/society/866117

The thugs got blown up on their own bomb

MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. Law enforcement officers on Wednesday prevented a terrorist act in the Russian North Caucasus Republic of Dagestan, as a result of which thugs got blown up on their own bomb, the National Antiterrorism Committee (NAC) told TASS.

"Today in the afternoon, officers of a mobile police group tried to stop a suspicious car in the village of Sirtych, which was going in the direction of Derbent," the statement said.

"When the thugs realized that they can’t escape pursuit, they detonated a homemade explosive device, as a result of which a powerful explosion occurred," it said. "A police officer who took part in the pursuit of criminals was fatally wounded. No civilians were hurt."

An operative and investigative group and Federal Security Service (FSB) explosives experts are currently working at the site of the incident. The criminals are being identified and their possible involvement in other terrorism-related crimes is being established.

"Thanks to vigilance of police officers and timely actions by law enforcement bodies, the crimes planned by the thugs were prevented," the NAC said.

After the blowing up of a car with Russian Interior Ministry troops in Dagestan Tuesday, the NAC took measures aimed at searching for thugs and their accomplices.

Russia’s law enforcement agencies continue fighting militants in the North Caucasus over 15 years since the battle phase of the second war against Islamist separatists in Chechnya came to an end in 2000. Attacks on security officials and civilians occur from time to time in Dagestan, Ingushetia and Kabardino-Balkaria.

Assad to Sputnik: Why Didn't West Help Syria Liberate Palmyra From Daesh?

http://sputniknews.com/politics/20160330/1037211347/assad-interview-palmyra-liberation.html

The liberation of Palmyra with Russian support raised serious concerns about Western anti-terrorist campaign in Syrian, Syrian president Bashar al-Assad told Sputnik in an exclusive inetrview.

DAMASCUS (Sputnik) — The liberation of Palmyra with Russian support questions the seriousness of the US-led campaign against the Islamic State (also known as Daesh/ISIS/ISIL), Syrian President Bashar Assad told Sputnik.

"We had an urge to completely free Syria of terrorists, this isn’t even up for discussion. There are no other ways to protect Syria than by fighting terrorism. Of course, there's the political process too, but the fight against terrorism is key… The occupation of Palmyra by terrorists about a year ago served as evidence of the coalition's failure, its lack of seriousness in the fight against terrorism, especially Daesh. The fact that the freeing of Palmyra happened with Russian help also proves their lack of seriousness," Assad said.

"Russian support has been the main and most effective factor to achieve these results, so has the support of our friends in Iran, Hezbollah, and other groups in Syria fighting alongside the army," he added.

Syrian Army Must Advance Toward Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa after Palmyra

After liberating the ancient city of Palmyra, the Syrian army should advance toward Deir ez-Zor and plan an offensive on Raqqa, Syrian President Bashar Assad said in an interview with Sputnik.

"Of course, after the liberation of Palmyra, we must move on to neighboring regions that lead to the eastern parts of the country, such as Deir ez-Zor. At the same time, we need to begin work in the direction of Raqqa, which is Islamic State's main stronghold," Assad said.

The Syrian president reiterated that the fight against terrorism was key to ensure Syria's integrity and security, stressing that the Syrian army was determined to liberate the entire Syrian territory from terrorists.

"There are no other ways to protect Syria than by fighting terrorism. Of course, there's the political process too, but the fight against terrorism is key. And we have such a will, the Syrian people has a will, the Syrian army is determined to free each region," Assad said.

Possibility of Israeli prime minister’s visit to Russia being considered — Kremlin

http://tass.ru/en/politics/865987

MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. The possibility of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Russia is being considered, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.

Commenting on several media reports that claimed that Netanyahu’s visit to Russia is planned for April 21, Peskov said: "The possibility of Mr Netanyahu’s visit to Moscow is being considered. We will make a relevant statement in a timely manner."

Israeli media reported on Tuesday that Netanyahu plans to visit Moscow on 21 April 2016 and meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the situation in Syria.

On March 16 Putin said at the meeting with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin in Moscow that he plans to meet with the Israeli prime minister in the nearest future. Putin noted that Russia and Israel have many issues to discuss on developing trade and economic ties, as well as matters connected with security in the region.

Russian Operation Captures at Least 20 Daesh Recruiters in Moscow

http://sputniknews.com/russia/20160330/1037204245/moscow-daesh-recruiters-detnetion.html

At least 20 recruiters of the Daesh terrorist group outlawed in Russia and numerous other countries were detained in Moscow on Wednesday, a police source told RIA Novosti.

"During an FSB and police joint operation at least 20 people suspected of links with the Daesh terrorist group were detained. According to preliminary data, they were involved in recruiting new members," the source said.

Russian Police have not yet officially confirmed the information.

ISIS IN RUSSIA: 20 jihadi recruiters arrested in Moscow with FAKE Turkish documents

http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/656814/Islamic-State-Russia-terror-recruiters-detained-latest-crackdown-jihadis

RUSSIAN security services have detained around 20 jihadis working as recruiters for the Islamic State (ISIS) militant group.

Most of those arrested were Uzbek nationals caught with fake documents http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/645303/ISIS-fake-passports-Russian-FSB-agency-arrests-14-raid-secret-jihadi-printing-press, including false Turkish driving licences.

Authorities believe the group, whose location inside Russia is not yet known, were attempting to radicalise young Russians and draw them to the extremist cause.

A security source said: "During a joint operation of the FSB (Federal Security Service) and the police, around twenty people suspected of connections to ISIS were arrested.

"According to preliminary information, they were searching for and recruiting new members in Moscow."

ISIS has claimed responsibility for several attacks in Russia, mostly in the southern Caucasus region.

It has led Russian authorities to oversee a crackdown on Islamic extremists in recent months.

In February, security services detained seven members of the jihadi group accused of planning terror attacks on Moscow and St Petersburg.

Russian security experts have warned that the country is facing a "substantial" threat from homegrown extremists, with the potential for tens of thousands of radicalised Muslims to be living within its borders.

In January, three Russians were detained in connection with an Istanbul bomb blast.

Igor Sutyagin, a senior research fellow at the Royal United Services Institute, said the war in Syria, state oppression of religious minorities and high youth unemployment had combined to create the "perfect" conditions for radicalisation.

Mr Sutyagin told Express.co.uk: "There is the threat [of homegrown extremists] because of the multinational structure of Russian society.

"The Russian government provides the excuse and reason for people to get radicalised.

"It is not only involved in the Syrian war but it is suppressing its own Muslims in the country."

RUSSIA DEPLOYED ‘ISKANDER’ MISSILE SYSTEMS AT KHMEIMIM AIRBASE IN SYRIA? (VIDEO)

https://southfront.org/russia-deployed-iskander-missile-systems-at-khmeimim-airbase-in-syria/

A diverse range of reports arguing Russia may deploy Iskander ballistic missiles (capable of being loaded with nuclear warheads) to Syria have been circulating, at least, since February 2016. However, no video or photo-proofs have been provided yet.

Now, these rummors have become more real:

A television program called “Serving Russia!” (Russian: “Служу России!”), released by Russian TV Channel “Zvezda”on March 27, 2016 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFm9O4nDlvk&feature=youtu.be, includes a video footage of an alleged launching vehicle 9P78-1 of the mobile short-range ballistic missile system, 9K720 Iskander (NATO reporting name SS-26 Stone) at Khmeimim Airbase in Syria.

1 picture isn’t enough to confirm such thing for sure. Nonetlhess, the vehicle from Zvezda’s video looks very similar to that what is used in the the Iskander system:

The infographics below shows the capacity of the “Iskander” system if it’s deployed at Khmeimim Airbase:

Iskander _http://www.military-today.com/missiles/iskander.htm

The Iskander (NATO designation SS-26 Stone) short-range ballistic missile is a successor to the Oka (SS-23 Spider), which was eliminated under the INF Treaty. It was first launched in 1996 and was initially designated by NATO as the SS-X-26. It is considered the most advanced missile of its kind. The Iskander-M missile system was officially adopted by the Russian Army in 2006…

The Iskander road mobile missile system is equipped with two short-range ballistic missiles, which substantially increases firepower of missile units. Each missile can be targeted independently. These missiles are capable of hitting moving targets, as target coordination can be adjusted while the missile is in-flight. The Iskander has several different conventional warheads, including cluster, fuel-air explosive, bunker-busting and electro-magnetic pulse. It can also carry nuclear warheads despite the fact that this will violate INF treaty. Maximum range of fire is 280 km for the export version and 400 km for the Russian Army version. Minimum range is 50 km.

The Iskander was designed to overcome air defense systems. Missile files at supersonic speed, excessively maneuvers in the terminal phase of the flight and releases decoys. In some cases this ballistic missile can be used as an alternative to precision bombing.

Missiles can be launched 16 minutes from traveling or 4 minutes from highest readiness. The second missile can be launched in less than a minute once the first missile is launched.
The transport-erector-launcher (TEL) vehicle uses MZKT-7930 Astrolog 8×8 high mobility chassis. It is powered by the YaMZ-846 diesel engine, developing 500 hp. Vehicle can be airlifted by the An-124 transport aircraft.

The Iskander TEL is supported by a reloading vehicle, based on the same 8×8 chassis, which carries two reload missiles. Full missile system also includes command vehicle, information preparation vehicle, maintenance and repair vehicle and life support vehicle. All of these vehicles are based on KamAZ 6×6 trucks.

Variants _https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9K720_Iskander

Iskander-M – 9M273 version for Russian armed forces. Range: 500 km, making it a missile subject to the INF Treaty.[38][39] Flight altitude up to 6–50 km, stealth missile, controlled at all stages, not ballistic flight path. The intense maneuvering on takeoff and descent complicates prediction of purpose.[40] Rocket all the time is maneuvering during the flight.

Iskander-E – export version, specially designed to meet MTCR restrictions. Range: ~280 km. Simplified copy of the Iskander-M.[40] Aerodynamic control surfaces and flight speed of 2100 m/s provide maneuvering at high altitudes.

Iskander-K (K stands for krylataya or “winged”) – 9M278 cruise missiles, flight altitude up to 6 km, automatic adjustment in the way, follow of terrain relief in flight. Range: 500 km.
R-500 is a completely different cruise missile, based and evolved from RK-55 3M10 and 3M54 3M14, Kh-101 102 ALCMs.

Possibility of Israeli prime minister’s visit to Russia being considered — Kremlin
http://tass.ru/en/politics/865987

MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. The possibility of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Russia is being considered, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.

With Palmyra liberated, Deir ez-Zor and Raqqa are next in the Syrian Military's pursuit. I would imagine, that places the Golan Heights after that, which might be one of the main reason's Netanyahu wants a meeting with Putin - to work out a deal? The U.S. and the Obama administration have maintained their current position – that it is ‘occupied territory’ by Israel and will not change their position.

Tensions Mount In The Golan Heights Over Oil And Territory
http://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/Tensions-Mount-In-The-Golan-Heights-Over-Oil-And-Territory.html

Following the resolution of a permit issue, Afek Oil & Gas, a subsidiary of American company Genie Energy, has resumed efforts to verify whether or not commercially viable options for oil extraction exist within the Golan Heights region. These drillings are anything but routine, as years of conflict and contestation over the plateau – which was seized by Israel in 1967 – have led to profound disagreement over the territory’s sovereignty.

As Afek works to uncover what could be a step towards energy independence for Israel, the Israeli leadership is lobbying the United States to change its historical position that the region belongs to Syria. They want the U.S. to support Israel’s strategic interests in and claims to the Golan Heights, including the development of its natural resources. With the worsening situation in Syria and the need for Syrian rebel support, the United States and the rest of the international community have a delicate task ahead in dealing with the Golan Heights, however, it is likely that Israel will eventually have its way.

Background to the conflict Strategically, the Golan Heights region is of vital importance to Israel as it sits directly between Syria and Israel, serving as a critical buffer zone between the rebel-run western border of Syria and Israel’s crucial water resource, the Sea of Galilee.

Throughout much of the twentieth century, the area had been subjected to conflict as both Israel and Syria launched numerous offensives in the territory with Israel ultimately occupying it following the Six-Day War. Later, Israel effectively annexed the Golan Heights from the neighboring country of Syria in 1981 when it extended Israeli law to the area.

The international community did not recognize Israel’s action and the United Nations Security Council put forth Resolution 242 which declared the Golan Heights as occupied territory, a designation that clearly condemned Israel’s actions and left the region’s sovereignty in Syrian hands, a position still held today by the international community, including the United States.

Given the divide that exists between Israeli leadership and the international community over control of the region, an ongoing Syrian civil war next door, and the aforementioned oil efforts, there is an unprecedented level of geopolitical complexity surrounding the Golan Heights and the issue of sovereignty. Russia’s involvement in the war, the ever-present Palestinian tension, and the precarious situation with Hezbollah, only adds to this complexity and affirms that the implications from any action involving the territory will be felt across a broad spectrum of countries and groups with interests in the region. Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov has proposed a joint effort between Russia and the US, to coordinate the liberation of Raqqa, the Capital of the Islamic State. Publically, the US is trying to distance itself from cooperation.

While Russia is sending additional humanitarian aid to settlements in the Aleppo region, the US Gov. is in the planning stages, of another radar system on the Norway - Russian Border.

Foreign Ministry Reveals Joint Russia-US Plans to Liberate Raqqa
http://www.fort-russ.com/2016/03/foreign-ministry-reveals-joint-russia.html

Russia and the US will discuss specific military steps for the capture of Raqqa — the "capital" of the "Islamic State". This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleg Syromolotov in an interview to"Interfax".

"Specific aspects of such cooperation, including taking into account the withdrawal of our contingent, are being discussed between our military and the Pentagon", — he said. Syromolotov said that Washington have become "enlightened", and the US government is aware of the need not only to exchange information about military operations, but to actually coordinate their actions in the fight against terrorism.

He recalled that the idea to coordinate efforts for the liberation of the "capital" of the self-proclaimed Caliphate was proposed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov. "We attach great importance to dense dialogue between Moscow and Washington on the Syrian issue", — summed up Syromolotov.

US Refuses to Liberate Raqqa From ISIS Together With Russia
http://www.fort-russ.com/2016/03/us-refuses-to-liberate-raqqa-from-isis.html

[Note: Two narratives were published in the Russian media; it is likely that the US is trying to distance itself from cooperation in public, but behind closed doors other things are being said.]

The US will not conduct a joint operation with Russia in the operation against ISIS, a terrorist organization prohibited in Russia. Washington said that the US military will conduct limited tactical negotiations with Russia.

"These discussions focused on the issue of blacklisted airstrike areas to avoid incidents. We do not plan to do any joint operations, - quotes Interfax from a source in the presidential administration of the US.

The White house stressed that they welcome Russia's efforts in combating terrorists and maintaining the ceasefire. However, in Syria, Washington chose other companions.

"In Syria, we remain focused on equipping and mobilizing local forces who are motivated to fight ISIS," said the White house.

As a reminder, on March 27th, Syrian government troops, supported by militias and the Russian Airforce, completely liberated Palmyra.

Almost 4.5 Tonnes of Aid Delivered to Syria's Aleppo – Russian Military

The Russian center for Syrian reconciliation at the Hmeimim airbase delivered 4.4 metric tons of humanitarian aid to the Syrian people living in the country’s northern Aleppo province, the Russian Defense Ministry said Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the center delivered another 3.2 tonnes of humanitarian aid to settlements in the Aleppo region.

“Over the past 24 hours, the Russian Center has transported 4.4 [metric] tons of humanitarian cargoes to the Aleppo province for further delivering aid to citizens of most damaged towns and villages,” the ministry said in a daily bulletin posted on its website.

US Building a Powerful Radar on the Russian Border
http://www.fort-russ.com/2016/03/us-building-powerful-radar-on-russian.html

The US government has decided to, in the near future, build a powerful new radar station in Norway, right on the border with Russia.

The radar will be installed in the polar Finnmark province, which borders the Murmansk region. This is not the first instance of such equipment in the area. On the border of Norway and Russia, one station has been in operation for a few years, presenting its findings directly to Washington. The Pentagon has already allocated over $100 million for the new construction, and this is only for the first year of the project's implementation.

It is assumed that the radar will start its intelligence activities against Russia in 2020. Simultaneously, the modernization of the existing American radar "Globus-2" from the late 1990's will be held in Vardø. A new radar station will replace the old radar in the future, but at first, after the launch of the new station, they will work together.

The "Globus" radar type is able to track the launches of Russian Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles and monitor the activity of the Northern fleet of the Russian Navy in the Arctic region, operating a US missile defense system. However, the Norwegian authorities deny that they know about such espionage activities of the US military on its territory.

The government of Norway refused to comment on the construction of a new station, citing its commitments to NATO.

Everybody Loves Putin (Video)
http://russia-insider.com/en/politics/everybody-loves-putin/ri13660

In spite of the best efforts of the Western corporate media.

It seems the frenetic efforts of the Western corporate media to demonize Putin and turn him into an untouchable pariah are having little effect, even in America.

When a Russian athlete attending a bodybuilding and strongman contest in the US presented Arnold Schwarzenegger with a T-shirt displaying Putin, the response was positive all around.

Rather than refusing the gift or casting it aside, Arnie did not display a negative reaction. The media and people around him at the time gave a positive response, and this was the general response of Americans at the event to Russia and Putin.

So judging by this, the efforts at demonizing Russia and Putin by the corporate media are falling flat on their face.

British foreign secretary: Russia is threat to everyone
http://www.b92.net/eng/news/world.php?yyyy=2016&mm=03&dd=30&nav_id=97534

British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond says Russia represents a threat to everyone.

The reason, Hammond explained, is the country's "disregard for international norms."

The British official made these comments in reply to a reporter's question, during a news conference on Wednesday in Tbilisi, Georgia.

According to Reuters, when asked "whether Russia still posed a threat to countries in the region such as Georgia and the Baltic states," he replied:

"Russia ignores the norms of international conduct and breaks the rules of the international system. That represents a challenge and a threat to all of us."

Also on Wednesday, reports cited unnamed U.S. officials as saying tat the Pentagon would deploy an armored brigade in Eastern Europe in February 2017.

The Pentagon announced this would take place within “continuous troop rotations of combat teams."

A U.S. European Command press release said that the purpose is to "demonstrate our strong and balanced approach to reassuring our NATO allies and partners in the wake of an aggressive Russia in Eastern Europe and elsewhere."

ISIS ‘Department of Artifacts’ document exposes antique loot trade via Turkey (RT EXCLUSIVE)

https://www.rt.com/news/337829-isis-artifacts-trade-turkey/

A new trove of documents, obtained by an RT Documentary crew who recently uncovered details of illicit ISIS oil business with Turkey, sheds light on jihadists’ lucrative trade of looted antiquities along their well-established oil and weapons transit routes.

There is no official accounting that would illustrate the true scale of looting being undertaken in Syria, a land once rich with cultural treasures. However, there is no doubt that since radical Islamists established a foothold in the region under raging civil war, pieces of the world’s global heritage have ended up in the hands of terrorists.

Along with oil smuggling, a lucrative trade in antiquities has become ISIS’s source of income to support its devastating operations, many of which leveled unique historic sites such as Palmyra. Artifacts, some worth thousands of dollars apiece, have been turning up in antique markets from eastern Europe to the US.

Following the exposure of the details of the ISIS oil business, RT has exclusively obtained additional evidence that sheds light on the jihadists’ black market of plundered treasures and its transit routes via Turkey.

According to a document that the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) turned over to an RT Documentary crew, the so-called Ministry of Natural Resources established by ISIS to hold grip of the oil operations has a separate “Department of Artifacts.”

“One of the new documents is a note that has the same letterhead of ISIS’s Ministry of Natural Resources as the oil bills of sale, which we discussed last time,” a reporter, whose name and face have been obscured for security reasons, explained. The letterhead, similar to those found on oil invoices that Kurdish soldiers seized from what used to be the homes of IS fighters, is visible in the upper-right corner of the newly obtained document.

The note, apparently addressed to checkpoint sentries, asks “brothers at the border” to allow a Turkish antiquity seller into Syria for the purposes of mutual profit. It reads:

“To the brother responsible for the border, Please assist the passage of brother Hussein Hania Sarira through your post along with the man from Turkey – the artifacts trader, for the purpose of working with us in the department of artifacts in the Ministry of Natural Resources. May Allah bless you, Loving brother Abu Uafa At-Tunisi.”

While filming in the town of Shaddadi, located in the Syrian province Hasakah, RT reporters came across archaeological pieces, fragments of various ceramic pots. Abandoned in a tunnel, which ISIS fighters fled through, they were discovered by the Kurdish YPG troops after they liberated Shaddadi from jihadists in the summer of 2015.

No one knows where those objects originally came from, but Kurdish fighters also found an old map in French, which could date as far back as colonial times. It indicates the excavation grounds.

Besides providing revealing insight into ISIS money-making, the note supports the previous suppositions that ISIS is selling artifacts via the same trade route, which, according to what RT’s crew was told, it used to bring across weapons and supplies, right under Ankara’s nose.

The fact of Turkey’s lax control and inaction has been recalled by a young fighter in an operational video that RT also obtained from the YPG. He was filmed after being captured by Kurdish troops at the border town of Tel Abyad, which was formerly a trade corridor between Turkey and ISIS.

“They sent me to serve in Tel Abyad on the Turkish border. Sometimes we even crossed the Turkish border and served there. We saw the Turkish army passing by, but there was never any kind of conflict between us,” militant Abu Ayub al-Ansari said.

‘Kurdish advance cut ISIS communication lines with Turkish security services’

The captured terrorist admitted that losing Tel Abyad had dealt a severe blow to Islamic State activities and its trade routes, as well as direct commutation lines with representatives of Turkish security services.

“When the Kurdish militia took over Tel Abyad, the connection was lost and foreign fighters could not get in,” the Islamist fighter testified. “The communication with the Turkish security services was broken, we could only communicate via civilians or spies.”

The terror group was also hit financially, suffering a serious blow to one of its major businesses – the oil smuggling.

“The goods that came from Turkey have also disappeared because the Kurdish YPG fighters have blocked the road through Tel Abyad. Also, the tankers can't drive through the area. That has put the organization in a complicated financial situation,” the apprehended militant told the YPG fighters.

‘We, Daesh, financially depend on oil’

The jihadi files showed that IS has kept very professional records of their oil business, including the name of the driver, the vehicle type driven, and the weight of the truck, both full and empty, as well as the agreed upon price and invoice number.

As local residents who had been forced to work in the IS oil industry told RT earlier, “the extracted oil was delivered to an oil refinery, where it was converted into gasoline, gas and other petroleum products. Then the refined product was sold.”

“Then intermediaries from Raqqa and Allepo arrived to pick up the oil and often mentioned Turkey,” they said.

The operational video of the Kurdish-captured Islamic State militant revealed more details of oil-related work inside ISIS, including the salaries terrorist paid.

“We, Daesh, know that we financially depend on oil. Earlier it was said we only sold to civilian buyers, but there's no way they could buy so much. Our wages are from $50 to $100, depending on whether you are married or not. I am married and have a baby, so I was paid $135. When the oil supply across Tel Abyad was cut-off, the problems started,” he said.

Since RT made its revelations last week, a stream of questions poured on Turkey with experts and high-profile politicians demanding from Ankara explanations to the “very convincing” report that exposed its alleged links to terrorists.

Russia to use Uran-6 systems to clear mines in Syria’s Palmyra — Defense Ministry

http://tass.ru/en/world/866116

A canine squad with mine-sniffing dogs has joined the unit, apart from combat engineer teams, the ministry reports

MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. Russian servicemen will use Uran-6 robotized systems to clear mines in the Syrian town of Palmyra recently liberated from militants of the Islamic State terrorist organization, the press office of Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.

The personnel of a combined unit of the international mine-clearing center have gone through instructions and practical training in the Moscow Region before going to the Khmeimim airbase in Syria from the Chkalovsky aerodrome, the ministry said.

"A canine squad with mine-sniffing dogs has joined the unit, apart from combat engineer teams. Modern robotized systems Uran-6 will be used for mine-clearing," the ministry added.

Combat engineer teams are equipped with the most advanced demining and protection systems and have also received autonomous power supply generators, mobile kitchen trailers, containers and tents for personnel accommodation, the Defense Ministry’s press office said.

As was reported earlier, two groups of Russian combat engineers went to Syria on March 29 and 30.

A military and diplomatic source earlier told TASS that about 100 Russian specialists equipped with robots would be involved in the mine-clearing operation.

Mine-clearing will take at least several months and the Russian personnel will have to clear not only the town’s historical part but also the residential quarters and approaches to Palmyra from mines.

The Syrian army reported about liberating Palmyra on Sunday. The operation to liberate the ancient town on the UNESCO World Heritage list was conducted with the support of Russian combat aircraft. Militants of the Islamic State terrorist organization (outlawed in Russia) seized Palmyra in May 2015.

Agent of Department of counterintelligence of the Central apparatus of the Security Service of Ukraine has been detained

On March 26 an employee of the Department of counterintelligence of the central apparatus of Security service of Ukraine, Colonel Yury Ivanchenko was detained on the territory of Russian Federation. Ivanchenko arrived to Russia under the pretext of visiting relatives, despite the fact that SBU prohibits its employees from visiting Russia.

Even before his arrival in Russia, FSB received advance information that the SBU and the CIA prepared the operation for Ivanchenko's recruitment by the FSB by offering his services.

It is known that at present representatives of U.S. intelligence who oversee all the work of the SBU against Russia operate at the SBU building.

First time Ivanchenko tried to offer his services to the FSB of Russia in 2014.

SBU agent had to interest FSB in his capabilities to obtain secret information and convince FSB of the need to communicate with him in Kiev through secret drop points.

At some stage SBU and CIA planned to capture the FSB agent red-handed, while obtaining information from Ivanchenko.

After the detention, Ivanchenko, not fearing of being convicted of treason, demanded to call the Ukrainian Embassy in Moscow. The opportunity to contact the Ukrainian Embassy was provided.

Because the acts of the foreigner did not cause damage to security of Russian Federation, he will be deported to Ukraine and banned from entering Russia.

Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasily Gritsak has confirmed the detention

KIEV, March 31. /TASS/. Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasily Gritsak confirmed on Thursday that Ukrainian citizen Yuri Ivanchenko who has been detained in Russia is an employee of his agency.

"His [Ivanchenko’s] security clearance was cancelled as of May 2014 and since late 2015 he is at the [service’s] disposal. This means, in fact, that he should have been dismissed soon," Gritsak said on the 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"He submitted an application for exit, but it was not approved, and he went there [to Russia] without authorization," the SBU head said.

Earlier on Thursday, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reported the detention of an employee of the Counterintelligence Department of the central staff of the Security Service of Ukraine who came to Russia under the guise of offering his services to FSB.

"On March 26, Lieutenant Colonel Yuri Ivanchenko, an employee of the Counterintelligence Department of the SBU central staff, was detained in the territory of the Russian Federation. Ivanchenko arrived in Russia under the guise of visiting his relatives, despite the fact that Ukrainian security services have prohibited their employees to travel to Russia," the FSB Public Relations Center said, adding that he would be expelled to Ukraine with no right to enter Russia in the future.

"Before his arrival to Russia, FSB had got a warning that the SBU and the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) trained Ivanchenko for an operation in which he would offer his services to FSB in order to get infiltrated into FSB by means of recruitment," the FSB Public Relations Center said, adding that representatives of the US intelligence are currently working in the SBU building in Kiev. They supervise all the SBU work against Russia. Ivanchenko had for the first time tried to offer his services to Russia’s FSB back in 2014.

"The SBU employee had the task to get FSB interested in his possibilities to procure secret information and persuade FSB to maintain contact with him in Kiev using dead-drops. The SBU and CIA at a certain stage planned to catch red handed an FSB officer who would be getting information from Ivanchenko," the Center said.

After his detention, Ivanchenko, not fearing high treason charges, demanded that the Ukrainian Embassy in Moscow should be notified of his detention. He was given the possibility to contact the Ukrainian diplomatic mission. "As the foreigner’s acts have done no harm to security of the Russian Federation, he will be deported to Ukraine and banned from entering Russia again", the FSB Public Relations Center said.

ISIS vs 3D Printing: New Technologies Could Restore Palmyra Ruins
http://russia-insider.com/en/after-palmyra-message-isis-what-you-destroy-we-will-rebuild/ri13685

Originally appeared at The Guardian

The recapture of the Syrian desert city of Palmyra must lift the spirits of all who knew its former glory. But after the dust dies down, a new army arrives: that of archaeologists brandishing questions. How much of what has gone should be restored? By what means, and by whom? And where does Palmyra belong, to Syria or the world?

For once, there is no doubting the drive. Syria’s director of antiquities, Maamun Abdelkarim, is visiting Palmyra this week to survey the wreckage of his celebrated site, pleading for its rebuilding. His benefactor and Syria’s principal ally, Russia, has compared Palmyra’s restoration with that of Leningrad after the second world war. In Italy, the former culture minister Francesco Rutelli has ambitious plans to use digital “printing” to reconstruct Palmyra’s fallen temples from their rubble and dust.

Private initiatives aren’t far behind. Oxford’s Institute for Digital Archaeology is the creation of American lawyer/archaeologist Roger Michel, with help from Harvard and Dubai. Michel is currently using similar technology to Rutelli’s – better, he claims – to build a 3D facsimile arch from Palmyra’s destroyed Temple of Bel. It is to be unveiled in London’s Trafalgar Square on 19 April and will then travel on to New York. “My intention,” declares Michel, “is to show Islamic State that anything they can blow up we can rebuild exactly as it was before, and rebuild it again and again. We will use technology to disempower Isis.”

With the recapture of Palmyra all these ambitions must confront reality. The talk stops and something must happen. New 3D printing technology in particular opens a new front in the old argument among conservationists: between restoration and “conserve as found”, or between treating heritage as “done and dusted” as opposed to seeing it as an opportunity to discover new meaning, and new enjoyment, in the past.

Michel claims his printers can reproduce not just the texture and surface contour of stone but its physical make-up. They can extrude layers of the same sand, water and sodium bicarbonate that formed the artificial stone often used by the ancients. They can reconstitute the original dust of a ruin in situ. It is no different in concept from French archaeologists who, in the last century, re-erected Palmyra’s colonnade.

Meanwhile in a quarry in Carrara outside Rome, the decorative features of the Bel temple uprights are being etched by a CNC router-engraver. They are, says Michel, “completely indistinguishable from the original”. He is offering the Syrians two printers that, he claims, can operate at a speed that “should enable us to rebuild what has been destroyed inside six months”. Robotic artificial intelligence can be an aide to art as well as science.

Michel is backed by London mayor Boris Johnson, an enthusiastic sponsor of the Trafalgar Square arch. Johnson demanded that “British archaeologists be in the forefront of the project”, especially given Britain’s “ineffective” role in failing to defend the site in the first place. David Cameron has yet to respond.

In Italy Rutelli’s 12 metre-high Big Delta printer is built by the Wasp Corporation and was first displayed at Rome’s Faire Maker digital fair last year. It has already been used to recreate portions of Pompeii and is being used to recreate the 4 metre-high winged bull of Nimrud in Iraq, smashed by Isis last year. While both Michel and Rutelli are handicapped by the lack of 3D scans of Palmyra, hundreds of photographs coupled with the new accessibility of the ruins should make amends. (Article continues.)

Syrian sappers say 1230 mines rendered harmless in Palmyra

http://tass.ru/en/world/866512

According to Lieutenant Qassen Shpib of the Syrian engineer troops engaged in demining efforts, it's only half of the approximate number of explosive devices in the city

PALMYRA (Syria), April 1. /TASS/. Engineer units of the Syrian army need Russian sappers’ assistance in the mine clearing operation in the ancient city of Palmyra, Lieutenant Qassen Shpib of the Syrian engineer troops engaged in demining efforts told reporters on Friday.

"We have already gained experience, but now we are facing a major problem - the clearance of houses and apartments, where the militants have left suicide bomber’s belts and explosives. We are awaiting assistance from our Russian colleagues to deal with it," Shpib said.

He added that 1,230 mines have been rendered harmless in the city by the moment, which is only half of the approximate number of explosive devices in the city. The sapper also spoke about the difficulties the Syrian military have had to face in the course of the mine clearance operation.

"The entry to the city is completely mined, which is unexpected for us. The terrorists dug holes in the asphalt, laid mines in them, and then covered them with concrete. We have had to blow all this up. There were also mines set off by the militants remotely", he said.

Experts of two groups of a joint detachment of the Russian Armed Forces’ international anti-mine center were dispatched to Syria on March 30 and 31 to participate in humanitarian demining of infrastructure facilities and the historical part of the city of Palmyra. According to preliminary estimates, the Russian experts will have to clear of mines more than 180 hectares in Palmyra.

"The detachment’s units were airlifted (to Syria) by the Antonov An-124 Ruslan and Ilyushin Il-76 planes of the Military Transport Aviation," the Russian Defense Ministry said. According to the ministry, the detachment is furnished with the most advanced mine clearing and protective equipment. In addition to sappers, the detachment includes mine detection dog handlers. During the mine clearing operation the Russian experts will also use the Uran-6 robots.

Previously, a military-diplomatic source told TASS that the total number of Russian sappers and detector dog handlers that will be engaged in the mine clearing operation in the city of Palmyra in Syria will reach some 100 people. He said that the mine clearing operation would last several months at least. The Russian military are to demine not only the city’s historic part, but also residential areas and approach routes to Palmyra.

The Syrian army said on Sunday that it liberated the ancient city of Palmyra with support from the Russian air group. The city, which is called a "gem" of the Syrian desert, was one of the richest centers of ancient civilization. The Great Silk Road ran through Palmyra, located in an oasis 240 km from Damascus. The extant ruins of the ancient city are included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site list.

Palmyra, an ancient city in Syria’s Homs province some 210 kilometers from Damascus, was seized by gunmen of the Islamic State (a terrorist organization outlawed in Russia) in early summer 2015. The Syrian authorities said back then that Palmyra with its monumental ruins of a great city that was one of the most important cultural centers of the ancient world standing at the crossroads of several civilizations, could share the fate of Iraq’s ancient cities of Assur, Nimrud and Hatra that were destroyed by Islamic State militants.

Maria Zakharova had something fairly interesting to say yesterday in regards to Russian-US relations:

Russian-US relations

Restoring full format relations with the United States remains a priority for Russia, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Thursday.
"[Relations] are not at their best at the moment. That is a fact," Zakharova told reporters, answering a question on the current state of Moscow-Washington relations.

"A reassessment of approaches is underway. I believe it will be of a global and systemic nature. At the same time, our priority remains to restore full format relations that would be aimed at implementing the interests of both the countries' residents, in all areas," she added.
[...]

If you read between the lines it seems that Putin and Co. are about to change tactics a bit and substantially. I don't think it is a coincidence that Zakharova made that statement while choosing those words. I think we can expect a couple more suprises from the russians in the near future. Can't wait for it actually :v:

Forewarned is forearmed...

A global and systemic nature - I wonder if that might apply to the U.S. monetary system, as one example? The U,S. would fold into it's own blueprint. It would be catastrophic, worse than any sanctions that were placed on Russia?

Another thought, with the C's predictions in mind, we're into the first of April? We might be in line "for a wild ride" on the rollercoaster of chaos?

Here is a great video of Putin once again exposing the empire's lies and representing common sense and objectivity:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG_QNYohMhY

He even calls the repulsive lies saying that Assad's regime was the source of chemical weapons, "A crock of shit". :cool2:
