London Westminster attack: man shot by police and several hurt

This article shared by Vanessa Beeley on facebook has some interesting points: _https://theburningbloggerofbedlam.wordpress.com/2017/03/22/westminsterlondon-attack-a-few-interesting-early-notes/

This incident occurs on the anniversary of the Brussels airport attack – which itself was suspect for several reasons. Indeed, a memorial event was being held today to commemorate the Brussels attack.

The date (22/3) may be of occult/ritual significance, as was very much the case with the Friday 13th Paris attacks. Last year, in fact, just prior to the Belgium attack, a Reddit conspiracy theorist even posted a question asking what false-flag attack might occur on 22nd March.

The significance of March 22nd in some areas of conspiracy-theory lore, is that the emblem of the secret society ‘Skull & Bones’ features the number 322 (with March 22nd being 3/22).

Interestingly also is that, today, UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson is in the US, meeting with the Trump administration and representatives from 68 countries in a conference on how to deal with the ‘ISIS’ threat and radical Islamism. This attack in Westminster also forced the cancellation of a key parliamentary vote on the issue of Scottish independence.

Interestingly the CCTV cameras for Westminster were reported to have been taken off-line as of September, apparently due to the costs of maintaining them. See here, here and here. As a result, I’ve seen several police requests on TV for witnesses to come forward – presumably, among the usual reasons, to compensate for the absence of CCTV.

Also interesting is that Cressida Dick was just recently appointed the new head of Scotland Yard a month or so ago.

This appointment was met by some controversy, as she is best known as having been the officer in command of the operation which led to the fatal shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes in 2005. Amid a career that has included Head of Counter-Terrorism and an unspecified role at the Foreign Office, she also has held such posts as ‘Assistant Commissioner for Specialist Operations’.

Terror drills involving simulated attacks on Parliament have taken place in recent years, such as this one in 2014, which is specified to have involved ‘Specialist Operations’ according to the report from the time – which is during the time that Cressida Dick was still Assistant Commissioner for Specialist Operations.

As I’m writing this, I am aware that neither ‘ISIS’ nor any other terror group has yet claimed responsibility.

As of now, pictures have emerged showing the alleged attacker being carried on a stretcher – a bearded individual being widely described as “an Asian man”. Presumably this is the attacker. And we are generally being told that this was a lone attacker.

However, worth noting that one or two outlets reported more than one attacker. RT reported (17:30 GMT) the following: ‘Reuters are reporting that police are currently looking for a second suspect in the Houses of Parliament. A BBC reporter says a witness described two assailants as being a “bald white man” and a “black man with goatee beard”…’

Each time one of these incidents happens they always label them as terror attacks to panic the masses and flick the paranoia switch.
I saw a headline today after the attack had happened which said something along the lines of "the London attack is reportedly a terror attack until further notice" I can't remember the news agency or exactly what was said, but you can imagine how people may've been feeling when they saw this.

There was also this story http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/03/22/hero-mp-parliament-terror-attack-tobias-ellwood-battled-save/ which was quite sadly captured in photos:

The Tory MP attempted mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and applied pressure on the wounds to stem the blood flow to keep him alive.

Mr Ellwood, a former soldier himself, attended the victim as he awaited medical staff and an air ambulance to arrive in Parliament Square. He was later seen with bloodied hands talking to police officers near the scene before going back to the Foreign Office.
...
There were reports last night that Mr Ellwood "ran in [the] opposite direction to everyone else, he ran towards the injured police officer".

Photographs later emerged of Mr Ellwood, dressed in a blue suit, helping medical staff and policemen treat the officer, who later died.

Thank you for the link to the 'paranoia switch' article Jenn, I haven't come across that phrase before. Yeah, it definitely fits the bill here.

I've just bought the Kindle version of the book by Martha Stout Harrison is talking about. Given the times we are living in and the frequency of these events, I thought it may be useful for me to understand the topic in more detail.

London ‘terrorist incident’ comes on 1st anniversary of Brussels bombings

Exact motivations behind the vehicle and knife attacks outside Parliament in London remain unclear, but observers have noted that the incident occurred on the anniversary of the multiple Islamist attacks on the Belgian capital on March 22, 2016.

“These incidents are obviously very concerning indeed, coming as they do on the first anniversary of the Brussels terror attacks,” Tom Elliott, an Ulster Unionist MP, told the Belfast Telegraph.

Wednesday’s attack appeared to happen in several stages: at first a car reportedly mowed down multiple pedestrians on Westminster Bridge, before crashing into the perimeter of the Parliament building.

David Lidington, the leader of the House of Commons, said that in the aftermath a policeman had been stabbed, the assailant was shot dead, and there were “further violent incidents in the vicinity.”

MPs had to be placed under lockdown, while Prime Minister Theresa May was evacuated from Westminster.

The Brussels attack last year followed a different format, but both incidents share features of recent jihadist attacks, while terrorists have also often chosen significant dates and anniversaries to carry out their plans.

The Brussels attack consisted of three coordinated suicide bombings by three Belgian-Moroccan citizens, two in the city’s airport, and one in the central Maalbeek metro station, occurring one hour afterwards.

Thirty-two victims and three perpetrators were killed in the attack, and more than 300 injured.

The organizers, several of whom did not participate directly, had criminal records, and several had traveled to Syria to fight for Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), or were under the influence of radical preachers in Europe.

Shortly before the violence unfolded in London, Belgium's King Philippe urged listeners at a packed memorial service in Brussels to “make our society more humane, and more just,” and called for individuals to “dare to be tender.”

Despite the similarity in dates, the format of the London attack was more reminiscent of the Nice truck attack in France, when 86 people on a promenade were hit with a truck and shot by an Islamist during Bastille Day celebrations in July last year. While invented in the 20th century, the tactic has been specifically advocated by jihadist terror manuals, and copycat attacks have taken place in the past year in Berlin, Jerusalem and Ohio.

Sorry if that have been posted but I did not see it. While looking the stream at RT suddenly they show this video, out of context and it may be have been filmed Sunday. I thought very strange to see this in the stream, really.

Counter-terror police in major training exercise on River Thames testing response to tourist boat hijack

More than 200 Met Police officers and staff took part in the exercise, code named 'Exercise Anchor'.

It took place between 9am and 1pm on Sunday March 19, with the majority of the activity taking place along Blackwall Reach on the river Thames, near the Isle of Dogs.

The scenario involved a group of terrorists hijacking a passenger pleasure boat on the Thames and taking a number of hostages, to travel up the Thames to Central London to carry out a terrorist attack.

It was designed to test the response and command and control protocols of emergency services, working with maritime partners, in dealing with this kind of situation in a marine environment.
This was the first time that we've tested together the response of the various agencies that operate on the River Thames to a potential terror attack.

I’d like to stress that this scenario wasn’t based on any specific intelligence, but it’s important to remember that the threat level for international terrorism in the UK remains at Severe.

This kind of exercise demonstrates that should a terrible event ever happen for real, London is ready to respond in the most efficient and effective way possible.

– COMMANDER BJ HARRINGTON, FROM THE METROPOLITAN POLICE
Police said it tested the Met’s processes right from a 999 call handler receiving the initial call through to getting victims and suspects safely off the vessel once secure.

It included intelligence officers identifying and locating the threat, 'command and control' structures put in place and officers deployed to deal with and confront the threat.

It also tested how partner agencies on the river work together in this kind of scenario, with the Port of London Authority, Maritime and Coastguard Agency, RNLI, London, Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service all involved in the exercise.

Counter Terrorism Specialist Firearms Officers (CTSFOs) were deployed during the exercise alongside the Met’s Marine Policing Unit and intercepted the ‘suspect’ vessel, boarding and securing it.

The coordination of search and rescue teams was then put to the test with a ‘dummy’ body falling into the river, challenging those responding in how to rescue the person in the midst of an ongoing terrorist incident.

The terrorism threat level in the UK remains at severe meaning that an attack is ‘highly likely’ and it is important that members of the public remain vigilant and any suspicious activity can be reported via the Anti-Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789 321.

London Attacker Was Reportedly Identified As Abu Izzadeen, But There's A Problem: He's Still In Jail

London Attacker Was Reportedly Identified As Abu Izzadeen, But There's A Problem: He's Still In Jail

London has been attacked in what appears to be a terrorist incident—and British law enforcement is investigating it as such. Scotland Yard said that four people have died, including a police officer and the attacker, with 20 others being wounded. The injuries have been described as catastrophic. Katie wrote about how the assailant plowed through pedestrians on the Westminster Bridge near Whitehall, exited his vehicle in his attempt to enter the Palace of Westminster, where he was shot three times by police. A police officer was stabbed in the attack.

To anticipate one line that will come up in policy debate: Abu Izzadeen was born in UK. He's native of Hackney. https://t.co/kEPkFweRTx
— Oliver Kamm (@OliverKamm) March 22, 2017

The attacker was allegedly identified as Abu Izzadeen (aka Trevor Brooks), a British native and second generation Jamaican, by Channel 4 News. Izzadeen has been in trouble with the law for his advocacy of radical Islam. In 2005, he refused to condemn the July 7 London bombings:

British-born Abu Izzadeen, a spokesman for the group al-Ghurabaa [the Strangers] has declined to condemn the 7 July London bombings.
He told BBC2's Newsnight the bombings were "mujahideen activity" which would make people "wake up and smell the coffee".

In 2008, he was found guilty of inciting terrorism and given a four and a half-year prison sentence (via the Telegraph) [emphasis mine]:

Simon Keeler, 35, was found guilty with preacher of hate Abu Izzadeen, the Al Qaeda disciple who glorified suicide bombers and once famously heckled [then] Home Secretary John Reid.
Izzadeen, whose real name is Trevor Brooks, 32, led a group of Islamic radicals - including Keeler - who stormed the moderate Regents Park Mosque in central London and then forced back police who tried to evict them.
While western troops were fighting in Fallujah in Nov 2004 the group delivered a series of speeches at the mosque boasting that they were terrorists and exhorting followers to give donations to buy arms for the holy war in Iraq.
The speeches also coincided with a night of the Muslim festival of Ramadan known as the “Night of Power” and were recorded on a DVD lasting nearly five hours.
Brooks told his audience: “So we are terrorists - terrify the enemies of Allah. The Americans and British only understand one language. It’s the language of blood.”
Over the past few years, Izzadeen has been in and out of UK's legal system for his radical views. In 2015, he was sent to jail for failing to notify police of his address change, while in early 2016—he landed himself in hot water again for leaving the country without telling British authorities, according to the BBC. And here is the problem: he was given a two-year prison sentence for that infraction. He's still in jail.

We'll keep you updated.

Editor's Note: The original post had Mr. Izzadeen as the person who executed this attack. It was immediately updated to reflect the recent developments.

ah! yes! found it! thanks! I had troubleshooting posting it yesterday, but I am sometimes stubborn, did not occurred me to be and/or to look here.

Just an odd thought and it might not correspond to the Westminster attack, in any way but I noticed this report of the Queen canceling an event that was scheduled - supposed to open a new police headquarters in London, close to the scene of the attacks. The Queen had canceled several other engagements around the Christmas - New Year Holidays, due to illness. Then, right after President Trump was sworn in on Jan. 20, 2017 and signed several Executive Orders, one on immigration and a ban on several countries for 90 days, the immigration ban was used as an excuse - to start a petition to revoke Trump's visit to London, which is an age old custom to visit and meet the Queen. On the heels of the petition, on Jan 27th, UK Prime Minister Theresa May was the first foreign leader to visit Pres. Trump in the White House.

Just before the Queen's 90th Birthday last June, Prince Charles began taking on a more active role in the Queen's duties and obligations.

Considering all the Queen's cancelations in the last few months, I'm wondering (speculating) if the Queen is very ill and "certain events" are "manufactured" as a smoke screen to delay and postpone the Queen's appearance in public? I realize, "this is high speculation" but it was the first thing that came to mind when I heard of the Westminster attack.

Queen Elizabeth II has cancelled a visit to Scotland Yard following the Wednesday terrorist attack in London.

Queen Elizabeth Cancels Visit to Scotland Yard Following London Terror Act
https://sputniknews.com/europe/201703231051867700-queen-elizabeth-cancels-scotland-yard-visit/

Queen Elizabeth II has cancelled a visit to Scotland Yard following the Wednesday terror act in London that led to the death of five people, including the attacker, injuring at least 40 others, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said.

"In light of today’s events, the decision has been taken to postpone The Queen’s engagement to New Scotland Yard tomorrow," the spokesperson said as quoted by Royal Central on Wednesday, adding that "The visit will be rearranged for a later date."

On Wednesday, an attacker, whose identity is yet to be revealed by police, hit several people while driving on Westminster Bridge. He then tried to enter the parliament armed with a knife. After stabbing a police officer, who was later confirmed dead at the scene, the attacker was shot.

On Thursday, the Queen was supposed to open a new police headquarters in London, close to the scene of the attacks.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May has confirmed that the Wednesday attacks in London were carried out by one single individual. She emphasized that the location of the terror act was not accidental and said that the threat level in the United Kingdom remains severe.

According to Metropolitan Police Acting Deputy Commissioner Mark Rowley, the Wednesday terror act resulted in the death of five people, including the attacker, who could have been inspired by international terrorism. At least 40 people were injured, including three police officers, two of whom are in serious condition.

Searched for Millbank tower, and this is one of the first images that appears on the page. _http://www.millbanktower.co.uk

I've zoomed it in to match the still from the article, and it's almost identical (height seems good at least).

Compared to the one from the article:

The only camera I could find matching this was new years 2011-2012 recorded from the Sky Bar in Millbank tower.
I don't know if the camera is a fixed feature or not.

Joe's analysis of the Westminster incident has been posted on SOTT. Apart from the text below it includes photos, videos as well as links to articles which should be best checked out in the article itself.

https://www.sott.net/article/346109-Westminster-Car-Terror-Attack-Raises-Questions

Another 'terror attack'. Another outpouring of sympathy, this time 'for London'. Another round of media hypocrisy that willfully ignores the obvious explanation for and solution to these kinds of incidents.

On Wednesday 22nd March, around 2.40pm, we're told that a 'lone wolf', named as 52-year-old Khalid Masood, drove a black SUV along the sidewalk of the 252m-long Westminster bridge, knocking down at least 12 pedestrians and killing two of them. The SUV is about 6 feet wide and the sidewalk about 12 feet wide. There are vehicles on one side and the stone balustrade of the bridge on the other. The SUV was traveling at at least 60mph. So this was a rather difficult, if horrific, feat to carry out.

Leaving the bridge, Masood turned left towards the 'front' of the Houses of Parliament where he mounted the sidewalk and crashed the SUV into railings near the Carriage Gate entrance which is a 'weak spot' guarded by unarmed officers.

Exiting the vehicle, he tried to enter the grounds of the building and was confronted by a police officer whom he stabbed. The attacker was then shot dead by another plain clothes police officer. This was a clear attack on the 'center of power' in the UK that was designed to and succeeded (no doubt) in striking a particular chord with the British political elite.

As is often the case with such attacks in Western nations, news reports released immediately after the attack cited eyewitnesses who claimed there were two people in the car, one described as black with a goatee beard (matching the description of the man shot by police outside Parliament) and the other a white, bald male. But with only one man shot and killed and the official narrative reflecting this, these initial eyewitness reports have been shunted down the memory hole, never to be heard again.

While eyewitness reports are inherently unreliable, this is not always true. In the case of yesterday's attack in London, how is it possible that multiple eyewitnesses saw two people in a car (clearly enough to define skin color) when there was, in fact, only one person in the car? In other similar 'terror car' attacks that involved only one person, like in Nice and Berlin last year, there were no eyewitnesses who said that there were two people in the trucks used. The reason is that there was only ever one person driving.

So rather than dismissing the London reports as the traumatized imagination of ordinary people unaccustomed to such carnage, a much more reasonable conclusion is to assume that there was a white bald guy in the car, and that he fled the scene, and that that was his intention all along, leaving his 'partner' to take the fall, literally.

This scenario raises the specter of the Muslim patsy having a handler, possibly someone with nerves of steel and a heart to match. It may have been the white bald guy driving the car along Westminster bridge, mowing down people, as the Muslim patsy sat beside him. As a general rule, ignorant patsies can't be relied on to carry out 'terror attacks' on their own; they might, after all, balk at the last minute.

Now, I understand that this scenario is highly implausible for those who fervently believe that there are no dark corners within the British government that actually benefit from terror attacks against British civilians to the extent that they would have a hand in carrying them out. But to hold that belief a person has to be totally ignorant of the hard official evidence that some section of the British government has, in the recent past, consciously carried out terror attacks against British citizens, and then pointed the finger at someone else.

I won't go into the details here, but those familiar with the 'troubles' in Northern Ireland will understand. For those unfamiliar, here's a brief introduction. You might also have a quick glance at this (if only the headline) and then this for the connection to yesterday's London attacks.

Getting back to London: the only video of the SUV speeding along Westminster bridge emerged late last night and was shown on the BBC evening news. I found the same footage on the Twitter account of BBC home affairs correspondent Dominic Casciani and published it on SOTT.net (Casciani removed it from his Twitter account soon thereafter). While the footage has since appeared on several other news sites, SOTT.net was the first news website to host the video and carried it as an 'exclusive' (meaning it was not, at the time of publishing, available anywhere else).

As a result, I was contacted this morning by two AP journalists asking if SOTT.net owned the video or if we knew the source. I replied in the negative on both counts, but suggested it might be CCTV footage and therefore the legal property of Westminster city council. One of the AP reporters was able to tell me that he had contacted Westminster city council and they had denied that it was from any of their cameras.

First, check out the video. (added by Ant22: to view follow link to SOTT above)

There are three initial things to note: 1) the vertical angle is quite steep, suggesting that the video was taken from a relatively high altitude. 2) the video is low quality, suggesting a high zoom level. 3) the position of the camera is to the left of the center of the bridge, making it possible that the camera was located somewhere on the north bank of the river Thames.

With that information, to get an idea of the approximate locations for the camera, we need to look at some images.

Here's the view up the Thames, looking back at the view from where the video was shot.

And here's a zoom of that area with significant buildings marked

The next image is taken from this Google 'street view' link at the 'altitude 360' restaurant at the top of Millbank tower. I zoomed the image further after processing and it seems like a pretty good candidate for the location of the camera (not excluding, however, that it may have been situated on top of MI5 HQ).

(added by Ant22: to view follow link to SOTT above)

Just for the record, I can find no evidence that there is an automated CCTV or webcam in this restaurant or on the exterior top of the tower that points at Westminster bridge (there might be one at MI5 HQ, however). In case you were wondering why, in a city like London that is infamous for its preponderance of security cameras (where the average Londoner can expect to be photographed 300 times per day), there is no better footage of the attack, last September all CCTV cameras in Westminster were shut off to 'save money'.

So the only question left unanswered (well, sort of) is who happened to be filming Westminster bridge on a grey Wednesday afternoon in March at the precise time that a black SUV containing at least one terrorist was mowing down pedestrians? The answer, of course, is easy: it was a member of ISIS who works undercover as a cleaner at the altitude 360 restaurant (or MI5 HQ). After all, today ISIS "claimed responsibility" for the attack, which was, of course, carried out by one of their "soldiers of the caliphate" who was, apparently, known to MI5 (what a surprise).

Edit: clarity

The media is going with the "loan wolf" theory:

London terrorist Khalid Masood acted alone, London Metropolitan Police said.

London Terrorist Acted Alone, No Info Regarding Plans of Further Attacks
https://sputniknews.com/europe/201703261051968580-westminster-attacker-alone/

London terrorist Khalid Masood acted alone, there is no information suggesting that further attacks have been planned, London Metropolitan Police said.

"We still believe that Masood acted alone on the day and there is no information or intelligence to suggest there are further attacks planned,"
Senior National Coordinator for UK Counter Terrorism Policing Neil Basu said, as cited in a in a statement released by the police late on Saturday.

Basu added that the police still need "to establish with absolute clarity why he did these unspeakable acts," stressing that the reasons behind the attack "may have died with him [the attacker]."

"Nevertheless, we are determined to understand if Masood was a lone actor inspired by terrorist propaganda or if others have encouraged, supported or directed him. If the latter proves to be the case, they will face justice," Basu stated.

On Wednesday, Masood, 52, drove his car into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge in the center of London. He then left the car, armed with a knife, and attempted to enter the parliament building. The attack left five people dead, including the attacker, and at least 50 people injured. Daesh terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The attacker was born in Kent and lived in West Midlands, according to Metropolitan Police. He had several previous convictions for assaults and possession of offensive weapons. The last conviction was in 2003.

"Wirral incident update: 30 'walking wounded' patients (minor injuries) and 2 patients with serious injuries gone to hospital," NWAS wrote on Twitter.

Earlier in the day, what is believed to be a massive gas explosion destroyed a building of a dancing studio in the town of Bebington in Wirral, United Kingdom. Dozens of ambulances and firefighters were reported arriving at the site, with the nearby houses being evacuated.

It was interesting to note that
EDL man
Tommy Robinson was On the Scene
in a Very short time,
giving an interview and already making
the claim that the DUPE,
was 'Radicalised ' in Prison.

Odd that because it took the MSM another day to come up with that story line.
Was Tommy given the script in advance ?

It is definitely the Exact same spot,
Check the markings on the Bottom back Stones,
There is a Name written on the wall,
that appears to be "Lagerth"
Closest i could find was "Lagertha"
a Viking shield maiden, supposedly
drawn from a real character.
