Alternatives to (cellulose acetate) conventional cigarette filters?

Greetings,
I would like to know if anyone out there knows alternative cigarette filters. I'm asking because i read some article about a US cigarette company that claimed that cigarette filter fallout was harmful. The report is here:

http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn2027

I do agree that the report is kinda old (2002) but i just wanted to know if anyone was aware of organic/biodegradeable cigarette filters.

Cheers.

How about a small piece of cardboard rolled up ?I find it catches lots of tar

I found an organic alternative to the normal cellulose acetate (non biodegradeable) filters. It's simply pure cotton. All one needs to do is buy either pure cotton face pads/ or surgical cotton wool, cut it up and roll up your own filter.

PS it can be tricky at first, but i think it's worth it IMHO. Although i'm not skilled at rolling enough to do it while walking, or on the move.

Another option for those who roll their own is to just roll a filter-less cig.

Cheers
