Amethyst and Mention of Crystals in the transcripts...

The Living Force
First off, yesterday i bought an amethyst to wear around my neck. Keeping on in contact with the skin is supposed to help with a variety of things... my primary use for it was for emotional turbulence and to help understand my dreams - which have been all sorts of weird. I then searched the transcripts and found these bits:

Q: (L) Do any of the rituals we perform provide protection against further abduction?
A: Maybe. Some Crystals with energy fields. Don't need protection if you have knowledge.

Q: (L) What about the rocks? [We had been discussing large crystals on a nearby table.]
A: Put in sunlight for two days.
Q: (L) And what will that do?
A: Energize.
Q: (L) Energized to do what?
A: Provide power to you.
So I'm getting crystals are kinda like a crutch? If one has the appropriate knowledge there's no need.

Any reason not to wear an amethyst?

I did notice an immediate calming effect when i put it on, but likely it was placebo. Faded as the day went on, I got tired and moody later.

I, myself, had collected crystals as a hobby a while back, and I attempted to understand how they work (only on spiritual side, not sciencific). I do know they needs the sun to be energized or otherwise their energy would get weaker as time goes on. I do know that one can't wear the same crystal at all time, but only on certain days or time (for certain purpose).

It is my understanding that one would be attracted to a certain crystal, and one might be in need of it for a certain purpose (if one does not have the knowledge for that same purpose). OSIT.

I posted about my crystal, moldavite:

I would think you would have read this thread - - - -

a brief synopsis from 'wilecoyote' -

So basically, relying on pendants based on blind faith not scientifically backed evidence, is like relying on heroin or crack for a fix! Gosh i never thought of it that way, but it makes sense.
The words used to market devices like these are mesmerizing, illiciting a false sense of euphoria. (i suspect the use of NLP for these adverts).
I use a Wonder Woman pez dispenser - it works wonders.

;) (sarcasm alert)

Or...here's the thought:

If you're attracted to one crystal for unknown reasons, research what that specific crystal do to help the kind of problems (heartaches, pain, emotional roller coaster, mental chatters, etc.). Then search for other means to help overcome those type of problems, sciencifically. So, you won't have to rely only on the crystal. Maybe it could be a starter for you to search more (like a piece of bread crumbs), not the only means.

Just my two cents.

I remember the thread on pendants... just re-read it in fact, but given the bits in the transcripts it seems crystals do have some objective affect on humans, no?

I guess I'm dissociating 'talismans' from 'crystals'.

Talisman
1 : an object held to act as a charm to avert evil and bring good fortune
2 : something producing apparently magical or miraculous effects

pendant
1 : something suspended: as a : an ornament (as on a necklace) allowed to hang free

crystal
3 : a body that is formed by the solidification of a chemical element, a compound, or a mixture and has a regularly repeating internal arrangement of its atoms and often external plane faces
So a talisman could be anything. A pendant could be anything that hangs from your neck. A crystal is a very specific type of rock. So a pendant or a talisman might not necessarily have a crystal on it, could be a blown glass bead on hemp... maybe hanging amethyst from my neck is just as useful... or it might have a measurable affect, not to sure how to measure it though. Esp given my subjective conscious state.

Yep yep, reading Myth of Sanity helped, as did Trapped in the Mirror and Narcissistic Family. Also got some good keys from Operators and Things. Still gotta read Drama of the Gifted Child though.

Yes, among other things. Perhaps Laura's post on this thread here may provide some insight. Although, it seems you're quite attached to the idea, so perhaps not.

Lol - ahh well, it was a 'fun adventure' into lala-land.

::dumps water on self, dries off, picks up book and reads::

edit: and bonus! i have this pretty purple thing on a sterling silver chain... very fashionable at the new age expos, lol.

Just so you know, I really like crystals and other rocks. What I do with them is put them in a brass bowl with water in the sun and every time I pass by them, I admire them and think thoughts about how beautiful they are and how much I admire them. Then, I take them and put them in a big basket together as a "decorating element." I think they sort of capture the energy and radiate it and that is very nice. But I don't think I would rely on them for anything. I wear amethyst because it is my birthstone and I just like sparkly stuff.

LOL - yep, me too (ssshhhhhhh - it's a secret!) - I have crystals and rocks all over my house, but I figured I'd withhold that little piece of information until Cyre had a chance to look at his pendant from another perspective. I personally think that natural crystals are one of the coolest things on the planet - all rocks in general are, actually, but I'd never rely on them or expect that having them around will 'do' certain things - I just think they're beautiful and like having them around.

;)

I had a similar thought, and when it comes to serious health issues you can take this statment to the bank

and whats up with recharging of the crystals that crystaloptherapists advise, allegedly you are supposed to recharge them by putting them in the water and under the full moon

I wouldnt trust the moon to recharge anything,

Laura posted her last April session with the C's about the crystal on the third page of this thread:

Clearly, moonlight is a no no.

Well, I used to collected them (most of every thing, except for the rare kind) because they intrigues me. I only wear moldavite (on some days since I don't want to wear it at all time because it made me dizzy) because I like green. I couldn't get emerald, which is my birthstone.

Hehe wait a minute Z - you wear a green rock that makes you dizzy and supposedly comes from a meteor?

That cracks me up.

Green's one of my favorite colors thou. Painted my whole bedroom four shades of green once, only had the place for a year and I had to paint it back, but it was well worth it.

And I guess it's important to note what C's have always said, "rituals are self-defeating". And a ritual is believing an object or a motion has "powers". And it is well known here what "beliefs" and "assumptions" do with respect to limiting the possibilities, limiting knowledge, and therefore limiting what can be achieved and in essence "closing" the mind which restricts/limits our own interaction with creation. The C's have said that the belief center of the mind is a powerful thing, and perhaps if you truly truly believe a rock/stone/twig/rope/your grandmother has a lot of supernatural power, you might even experience what you expect to experience (think of those religious healers in the name of Jesus/whoever, who actually end up healing people who truly believe it, but later certain "problems" arise as a result...). But in the end it's very limited, usually broken, unpredictable, and often dangerous result. I guess the bottom line is, you're not open when you ritualize, which sort of defeats the purpose of the ritual as it makes it harder to accomplish what you seek by anticipating how it should be accomplished, and assuming that an object can do what may very well be a product of your own consciousness and no physical "tools" or "motions". And your consciousness gets power from knowledge. Just some thoughts.

Z - where'd you get the kryptonite?

It is ironic, heh, yeah. Hopefully, it wasn't from one of the dead dudes (perhaps my viberation don't do well with them). no pun intended. :P

That is very true. In order to overcome what you believe in such things stem from "wishful thinking," we would need to destroy our "buffers" as G suggested. There's always something, isn't it?

Oh, them little shops by the beach. I believe I brought mine three years ago for 60 dollars-ish. It's pretty-looking.

Edit: I picked it up after spending the day with my wiccan friend. Obvious A influenced choice, guess I was looking for... I dunno, something to help deal with the emotional turbulence. I feel like everyone around me decided to pick now to go bonkers.
