What This amulet means ???
I need it for my sister.

Hi Lucas,

I'm not sure what you are asking here - Are you asking if the amulet represents or is symbolic of something? If so, I am not familiar with any particular meaning myself. Does it have some meaning or symbolism to you or your sister?

This reminds me of the swastika, the Buddhist version (whose name I can't remember right now). The one in the picture is in the counter clockwise position which is not as well known as the other one.

I'm wondering why you would want to get something for someone when you don't know what it means?

I assumed it was a swastika but always want to get more information .
I was wondering whether simply SOTT someone will know something more .

Thanks for the clarification, Lucas. I'm not a hundred percent sure if this is a version of a swastika. It's just what it looks like to me on first glance. I'm not sure if your sister is a jewelry buyer, but if she's not in that business at all I would caution her as to dealing with these people. That being said, if she tells them what it looks like, they may lose interest in it.

Also, my current understanding of this symbol is that it was co opted by the nazi's and originally had a more benevolent meaning. Unfortunately, unless someone is of eastern origin, most people will take it's meaning in the more recent use of it.

That's my opinion for what it's worth.

It looks like a swastika to me, too, only that I see a star of david-ish type of thing in it with the six points surrounding it. But that's probably just me. :rolleyes:

fwiw

I see the swastika inside a sun, I researched and came up with this article http://www.crystalinks.com/swastika.html

here are some interesting observation;

Alternative names for the shape are:
* Crooked cross

* Cross cramponned - in heraldry, as each arm resembles a crampon or angle-iron

* Cross gammadion - tetragammadion or just gammadion, as each arm resembles the Greek letter (gamma)

* Fylfot - meaning "four feet", chiefly in heraldry and architecture

* Sun wheel - German Sonnenrad - a name also used as a synonym for the sun cross

* Tetraskelion - Greek "four legged", especially when composed of four conjoined legs

* Thor's hammer - from its supposed association with Thor, the Norse god of thunder, but this may be a misappropriation of a name that properly belongs to a Y-shaped or T-shaped symbol.

* Hooked cross - (Dutch: hakenkruis, Icelandic Hakakross, German: Hakenkreuz, Finnish: hakaristi, Norwegian: Hakekors, Italian: croce uncinata and Swedish: Hakkors)

* Black Spider - to various peoples in middle and western Europe

It does look like a hammer whit a sun wheel as the head.
