China's Ghost Cities

A forum topic on it was created a while back:
http://cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php/topic,30702.msg402372.html

but I just recently encountered the topic of China's ghost cities with this recent article from ZeroHedge:
_http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-11-11/chinas-latest-ghost-town-50-billion-fake-replica-manhattan

The topic's been cropping up every year for a couple of years with some new replica of some iconic european cities or small european towns. This recent Manhattan one seems like a large project though.

Some possible questions:
1. Is China building these ghost cities with just the intention of stimulating the economy?
2. Or are they building these cities with the intention of some form of mass migration?

Will post more possible probing questions when more crop up in the following days.

I was going to try and trawl the web to get as much info about all China's Ghost Cities but it seems someone has already made a Google map of those cities:
_https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=z5yyTz07Wm1c.kLnP6p2UHW5o&ie=UTF8&t=h&oe=UTF8&msa=0
Each of the map points expands to links to web articles describing the development in that area.

And here is another article with satellite/aerial pics of those developments to give a sense of the area covered:

I'm thinking that this is quite a smart move by China, thinking forward to the currency reset and racking up huge debts/pouring massive amounts of money into infrastructure which will still exist after debts are written off, current currency is worthless.

But I am also considering that maybe Chinese construction companies were just keeping on building to rake in the money from those construction projects with no future plan of people living there. Partly because of some articles I encountered before about dubious building integrity (e.g. _http://gizmodo.com/5304233/entire-new-13-story-building-tips-over-in-shanghai/)

I'm leaning towards the first scenario (forward thinking).

So the re-formatted question(s) for the C's:

- Is China building all these ghost cities in preparation for their "ascendance" (can't think of a proper word right now) as one of the pillars of a multi-polar world?
- Partly to pour money into infrastructure (while currency/fiat is still worth something) and partly because of the expectation of a growing middle class?
- Partly for housing for the coming earth changes? (China has demonstrated in the past their swift actions in relocating a large number of people is areas that are about to be hit/have been hit by natural disasters. Swift compared to how US dealt with the flooding in New Orleans or when a big storm hit the east coast.)

Will continue to dig further into this topic and add more info as the weekend approaches.

I had seen videos of these ghost cities before and never had any specific idea as to what the reason behind them could be except maybe wishfull thinking on the part of builders/ developpers/ government. But today as i read this thread, it came to my mind that there is the possibility that the chinese government anticipate the meteorite swarm to cause such damage to inhabited areas that they have prepared these cities for after the coming big changes?

And that idea sort of makes sense to me, in the measure where i dont believe that the Russian or Chinese governments necessarily have the same plans of going to underground bases such as the 'rapture special' plan outlined by the C's for the US and UK leaders. But i may be wrong on this last part?! Keeping in mind that Chinese history goes back far enough for Chinese leaders to be fully aware of what's more than likely coming soon.
