Quotes from Earthbound, Conversations with Ghosts, by Robert H. Coddington, 1997 :

Concept of SC :

It's appropriate here to explain our understanding of how such collateral information can be psychically accessed. Marianne and I, and many of our associates, embrace the concept that each of us has an exalted plane of consciousness -- and individual and unique Higher Self we call the Superconscious -- conveniently dubbed the "SC" -- which is a cosmically aware spiritual aspect of the individual herself or himself, and is the true source of most psychic abilities. The SC is a complete, distinct intellect by itself and has its own personnality. While in our active, conscious state, we may have no more cognizance of this higher mind than of our subconscious mind, it nerverthelles can and often does subtly guide us during moments of attunement.
(Some call this innate source of guidance and knowledge a spirit guide and others call it a guardian angel, although one also may have associated spirit guides and guardian "angels" that are separate entities.)
This personal superconscious mind ordinarily functions in the timeless and spaceless realm of the nonphysical -- perhaps, with apologies to Jung -- the realm of the Collective Superconscious. At this level, it can communicate telepathically across our time and space with other SC's and thereby access information from those of other individuals and, perhaps, also from a dynamic repository of human history such as the so-called Akashic Records. (This concept also posts the SC to be the seat of our spirituality, being that facet of mind through which we may receive inspiration and englihtenment from higher spiritual sources. It would take an entire volume to fully depict the characteristics of the Superconscious, as we understand them, which I did some years ago in my book Death Brings Many Surprises.)
While this higher level of mind usually works beneath (or above) our normal consciousness, it may be accessed more directly through appropriate meditation. Moreover, some individuals learn to set aside normal consciousness in trace and allow their SC to literally speak in dialogue with other persons. This, too, is channeling or mediumship, differing only in that the entity speaking is not an external, discarnate being such as a ghost or a supposedly enlightened "spirit guide", but is in fact the higher consciousness of the channeler or medium herself or himself.
It is from such superconscious sources that we acquire some of the background information to flesh out what we learn from direct ghost interaction. You will see in succeeding chapters how we frenquently called on Marianne and others to channel direct information from their SC's so we may better understand our experiences. (p.44-45)

Discussions between SC's :

[...], we understand that our ghost encounters don't come about by pure chance. We've been told (by our SC's) more than once that the frustrated SC of an "unaware" had taken roundabout action by enlisting Marianne's and other involved SC's to guide us, however subtly, into situations leading to "rescue" encounters. (p.49)

Informations from SC's :

In later cases, particularly those where the afflicted residents felt that the "haunting" energies were highly troubled, we developed the practice of calling upon our respective SC's for information before attempting ghostly contact, seeking a preview of the hazards and challenges ahead. We did so for this episode, which differed from our earlier ones in that this ghost just repetitiously screamed "help". So the SC's were our only source of information. (p.81)

Conversation with SC's :

After we familiarized ourselves with the premises and settled in for psychic adventure, Marianne relaxed and went into trance. I first sought an audiance with her SC -- who manifested as a male personality -- to allay, or at least minimize, my apprehensions before inviting an external entity. What follows is the essence of my conversation with her SC : [...] (p.83)

Mediumship and SC's :

So Marianne and I went one evening to Lou Ebersole's apartment to face this new challenge. I had some qualms, to be sure. However, it is our understanding that mediumship occurs only with the consent of the medium's Higher Self, which always polices the actions of "outside" entities it allows to channel. Thus far, we've had no direct experience contradicting this concept, though we also invoke various conscious-level safeguards for whatever protection they may add. As Marianne entered trance, I spoke first with her Superconscious personality. I asked him to allow but one soul through at a time, and to keep things within bounds for Marianne.
He gave his assurance, and retreated to make room for an external entity. [...] (p.124)

Channeling the SC :

This one, like every new ghost encounter, enlarged our education. As Marianne recalled, "The James Digby experience was interesting because this was [my first] male ghost. I felt strange, first coming out of trance, as if the male somehow hadn't fit my body, as it was with him." This seems to differ from Marianne's channeling her own SC, who also is make but doesn't feel strange; evidently her SC only projects verbal control and does not actually intrude his energy into her body.(p.135)

Mission from the SC :

Subliminal nudges from one's Higher Self for acting on some transcendantal agenda formulated by the SC come in various and sometimes devious ways. Perhaps most commonly, one is hit by an unexpected urge -- perhaps even a nagging one -- to undertake some action that hasn't been thought of or seriously considered at the conscious-mind level.
Thus far, this has proven true for us, with respect to such "missions" initiated by the Higher Selves involved. However, this assurance doesn't necessarily extend to challenges that one may elect to confront at the conscious level. Ego and conscious free will certainly can lead one to rash and risky actions in the psychic realm, as readily as in material reality. (p.212)

So this concept is quite close from Robert Monroe's "EXCOM" ("In Robert Monroe's trilogy about his experiences "out of body" he describes instances where he meets with a group of personalities he calls his Executive Commitee (EXCOM) and that they are, in fact, him in different incarnations. He speaks of reaching and meeting, talking and arguing with his "higher self" or "I-There". ")

And it is also close to Corbin's concept of the "heavenly twin". _http://disquietreservations.blogspot.fr/2013/03/henry-corbin-on-heavenly-twin.html

But what would be the "nature" of these SC's ? "People" living their "life" in 5D while helping incarnated humans ?
