Contact with members in Paris area

Since you're a relatively new member here you may not know this but personal contacts between members are discouraged for several reasons, mainly because it's not moderated and could lead to all sorts of unwelcome side effects.

The main thrust of contact is via this forum.

Would you've been accepted and vetted as a FOTCM member, it could be possible in rare occasions to attend meetings with other FOTCM members in your area when such are organized by headquarters's initiatives.

Hi Heinrich, as Palinurus said, meeting in person usually takes place after some time on the forum and after registering to become a FOTCM member. This is so that we can get to know you a little better first. To find out more about FOTCM see here: Church of Revived Paleochristianity | Fellowship of the Cosmic Mind .

Face-to-face contact certainly has its benefits but the online community here enables people all around the world to connect, network, learn and grow together where it would be otherwise impossible. There are also online meetings for EE and the book reading club that you may find enjoyable. I hope to see you around on the forum :flowers:

Bonjour heinrich.

You already received good feedback. What I'd like to add is that I understand the need to get in contact with people in real life. I come from a culture and a generation that valued face-to-face relationships above else. Online interactions seemed impersonal to me and it took me a while to get used to them. Once I did, however, I saw that it is possible to get to know other people and be known through this medium, and even form bonds of friendship. Especially in a forum like this one. I was all alone in my little corner of the world when I first came here, so it was a motivation and a relief to be able to communicate with others that were learning the same things I wished to learn and understand myself.

From your introductory post, I see that you worked as an engineer at the European Space Agency. I bet you have a lot of interesting stories to tell from your particular knowledge and experience. I look forward to them, but above all, I would very much like to get to know you better. Even though the information you gave so far indicates that it is not your mother tongue, your posts read that you have a good command of the English language, so that wouldn't be a big problem, yes?

I hope you decide to interact more with us and participate in the online groups that Jenn indicated above. :wizard:

Thank you for your explanation. However, I am 80years old and also like to meet face to face.

Thank you for your elaborated answer. I will also follow your suggestions. As regards ESA, I left 22y ago, so I cannot tell so much about it, unless when asked specific questions...

I take note of your position; but I still like face to face contacts...
