Hello friends,

Here is a question I'd like to submit to C's:

I suffer from deafness, wich is going aggravating. No cause, no treatment, aside audoiprosthesis, but the deafness continue aggravating more and more and prothesis become unsufficient . it's very difficult in everyday life and in my job. I'll soon be unable to work :-(

What can I do to recover hearing?

Thanks endlessly for your help.

Hello nature, I noticed that your question is one of a personal nature, which the C's are loath to answer, so perhaps the Forum should try to help you.
Can you provide more information about your condition: Were you born with it: Are any others of your family affected similarly: Have you been subjected to loud or continuous loud sounds of any kind, e.g. wartime, working with heavy machinery: Have you ever been infected or injured in any way in this area: What kinds of animals do you associate with: What diet do you pursue: What medications are you on:
What age were you when you first observed the symptoms: etcetera..
I'm not a medical practitioner, but I would guess that other people could perhaps give you some help if you provide more info about your problem.

I am also interested in this subject and have booked to see an ENT consultant in the next 2 weeks. In answer to your questions I noticed age 12 that I could not hear teachers properly and had no chance of hearing anybody whispering to me. My father sounded like Victor Meldrew sometimes (One foot in the Grave series) from about 50+

I had tests and was given a hearing aid around 30 years old but was of no use as my main problem - I think - is the constant tinnitus I have had as long as I can recall - getting worse sometimes, but forever there!

Yes, I miss out on so much and don't hear the end of sentences much of the time - not if people don't talk at me (so maybe a bit of lip reading going on too).

My daughter just visited and could not believe she now had to repeat practically everything, or I would have to go to where she was speaking in another room as hearing was hopeless.

I only went to a few concerts and don't play loud music or use headphones. I find it hard to hear the Sott podcasts - even with my laptop volume on 100%. I also noticed when having to show videos to people that their tv's were always at least 2 - 3 volume notches too low for me.
I don't have a cat any more. Found it has got far worse since my recent virus and still have a combination of feeling cottonwool combined with earwigs crawling in my ears since this virus - the reason I have made the appt!
When I was on Keto seriously, I did not notice any improvement in my hearing, but then I was most probably not on full keto long enough. I am going full on again so that I can start the Iodine protocol.

I do believe it could be diet and am concerned it is getting worse. Somehow I don't feel it is what people term 'deafness' if that makes any sense? I am also hoping others may know of anyone with similar problems and whether nano technology or something could help. I did search a while ago but all I found was things in experimentation/future 'solutions'.

Hearing impairment is certainly a barrier when trying to remain vigilant! FWIW

I am sorry for your ear problem. I hope you will find a solution or help here.

About iodine, you should read the thread about it. Also the interview with Lynne Farrow where she talked about Iodine. She says that it can help problem with ears.

But also there was somebody from India who wrote to me and said his mother-in-law was taking iodine and something fell out of her ears, like little bones he said, and that she started hearing again. And I thought this is crazy. But then I looked it up and I found out that that had been used in the 1800's and there's a name for that particular ear problem. I have the information to back it up. I'm not saying it's going to help every ear problem, but this particular kind that she had, benefited from it. One of the problems with talking about iodine and the benefits is you begin to sound like a crackpot or that iodine is kind of the Lourdes of medicine. But iodine is such a vital nutrient and if your body has been in a terrible famine for 30 or more years, it's not unlikely that it will help many things because the iodine is in every cell of your body. It's going to help a lot of different things.

The interview with her is here:

Diet is very important. In the diet section you can follow the paleo diet thread and the "Life without bread" also. And very important thread about the Iodine subject.

Good luck my friend, take care!

Thank you!
Musicman: No cause. No conventional treatment. I see ENT specialist since many years.
Happylisa: yes, exactly the same case as for me. It's irritating not knowing what happens in the cochlea, why worsening so fast. Toxics accumulation with years? That's why Loreta's idea is good :)
Loreta: the idea of diet and iodine are well seen. It's worth trying them
I started the diet since 3 months, without any effect on nothing (brain frog, memory troubles) except an effect I didn't want (too much thinness). I think I'm not on the optimal way: I increased lipidic part since 1 month (no weight gain, I wait and see) and I just started to eliminate other foods like nuts :( , yoghourt and sour cream :( .
I haven't start detox, I'll do it as soon as I'll get the good products. The idea of iodine is interesting.
Happylisa, let's start a full and long keto, associated to detox ;)

nature,

if the cochlea is still working a bone conduction headset may help

iodine:

took me a couple months to get above 25mg (4 drops) per day. when i could take more, after a couple weeks of 150 to 200mg per day tinnitus symptoms disappeared.

hope you find a good solution

Thank you NewMexicoArt,
I just started iodine (12,5 mg during 2 weeks and 50 mg since 2 days - I infinitely thank SOTT for all the acurate info about iodine and doses). Your success on tinnitus is encouraging :) and incites me to increase again doses up to 150 mg, progressively .

So as for the device, I had the operation, and my hearing went worse. I hope on natural solution, and iodine will maybe solve this problem. Wait and see.

It sounds like you might be able to improve the condition since you weren't born with it and it is an ongoing process. I would try out the advice the others have given you about diet, iodine and detoxing and see if you can get improvement through that. In regards to diet it might be worthwhile to give it more time, since you only started out with it 3 months ago. Gluten and other toxic stuff can take months, in some cases even years, to get out of the body. It might also be a good idea to be pretty strict with the diet for a longer period of time at the beginning.

Keep us updated.
