Dr. Richard Sauder Arrested

April 18, 2010. Dr. Richard Sauder, author of several books on secret underground bases, was arrested for peacefully protesting at a Minuteman III nuclear missile launch site near Parshall, Minot Air Force Base.

Attorney, author and law professor Francis A. Boyle said: “People like Richard and the Ploughshares and others are some of the most principled people I’ve ever been fortunate enough to meet and I believe they have a right to peaceful, non-violent, prayerful demonstration against weapons of massive destruction and genocide. The future of humanity is at stake here and Richard and those like Richard out there are trying to do something.”

Dr. Sauder, an affiliate of the “White Rose Movement”, explains his protest in detail in his “Minot Manifesto”, North Dakota, April 2010.

In his most recent book (information attached), “The Richard Sauder Briefing”, ISBN 978-3-937725-14-7, now available in Europe and to be out in US soon, he describes the global situation and the immediate challenges for humanity: “The central reality of these early 21st Century times is the total certainty of imminent, massive, deep-rooted change in every sphere of reality that is meaningful to the human race.”

Earlier this year, Dr. Sauder also published Hidden in Plain Site: Beyond the X-Files, which details his latest research into the existence of clandestine underground and undersea bases.

A recent interview with him is now available on Youtube:

Man arrested at missile silo

PARSHALL Air Force security personnel, Mountrail County Sheriff's Department, Three Affiliated Tribes police and the FBI are investigating an incident Thursday in which a man jumped the fence of a Minuteman III launch site near Parshall.

According to the Minot Air Force Base Public Affairs office, 91st Missile Wing security forces personnel responded to an activated alarm at H-8 missile silo, located south of Parshall, and detained a man identified by the Mountrail County Sheriff's Department as James Richard Sauder of San Antonio. The suspect was later handed over to the sheriff's department who transferred him to the Mountrail County Jail in Stanley.

Special Agent E.K. Wilson, of the FBI branch in Minneapolis, said several FBI agents were on the scene Thursday afternoon working with the Air Force and local police to assess the situation and security threat, but could not comment further.

"The federal investigation is ongoing and we are working closely with the U.S. Attorney's Office, but it appears to be no nexus of terrorism," said Supervisory Special Agent Paul McCabe. "He has been charged on local charges, but the decision of whether to charge him federally is still pending."

Sauder was charged with criminal trespass, a Class C felony, according to Sheriff Ken Halvorson.

"The FBI is the lead investigative agency on the case, but from the initial information we have gathered we believe he was acting alone," said Laurie Arellano, chief of Public Affairs at Minot AFB. "There's no history or anything that would tie him here so it appears it was a random selection."

No motive has been established.

Steve he declined to give his last name watched the event unfold Thursday morning from his home near the H-8 missile silo, located near the intersection of 76th Avenue and 33rd Street Northwest.

"Early this morning, before 8 a.m., I saw this little red van parked in front of the gate, but I didn't see anyone around. I left and came back at about 9 (a.m.) and saw two helicopters flying low level and Air Force and police flying up and down the road blocking things off," he said. "I've lived here my whole life and I've never seen anything like it before. There was a lot of lights and moving around, but the airmen were calm and looked very professional, very well trained."

The van, a red 1993 Plymouth Voyager, was inspected by the Minot AFB Explosive Ordnance Disposal and the Minot Police Department Bomb Squad, but no explosives were detected. The van was then towed to the Minot Police Department for further investigation

Minot Manifesto
Statement by Richard Sauder, Ph.D.
North Dakota, April 2010

"Hier stehe ich. Ich kann nicht anders."
("Here I stand. I cannot do otherwise.")

These truths are self-evident:

Both major political parties in the USA are massively criminally corrupt; they are essentially political mafias, tools of the Fortune 500, Wall Street, the U.S. Federal Reserve and other nefarious interests.

The present government of the USA is so mobbed up, that 50% of the American people still cannot believe and do not understand, that the murderous attacks of 9-11 were an inside job by an incredibly Machiavellian, parasitic element that has insinuated itself deep into the guts of the American system, and that lurks there malevolently, devouring its host from the inside out.

But even that 50% remnant of “true believers” in the official propaganda will have their reflexive faith sorely tested as the events of the next year unfold. (see below for links on 9/11).

I am a strong proponent of good, honest, ethical government. I feel deeply that the government should adhere to its own rule book – the Constitution. However, the present USA government is so deeply riven with corruption that I cannot help but speak out.

That is one of the reasons that I have come here.

And that is why I have left a copy of the United States Constitution at this nuclear missile silo. All officers of the USA government swear to uphold and defend the Constitution. My important public service here today consists in calling attention to that simple fact.

Were I not a firm advocate of the principles of freedom as set forth in the U.S. Constitution of 1791, most especially as enumerated in the Bill of Rights, I would not trouble myself to travel all the way here to emphasize their importance in such a dramatic fashion.

Protestor goes to court

Man arrested at silo to face federal charges

By WHITNEY PANDIL-EATON, Staff Writer, MinotDailyNews.com
April 17, 2010

The man arrested Thursday at a Minuteman III launch site near Parshall will face federal charges.

James Richard Sauder, 55, of San Antonio, Texas, was arrested after allegedly scaling the fence of the H-8 missile silo southwest of Parshall to conduct a peaceful protest against nuclear weapons. He was initially charged with criminal trespass, a Class C felony, and spent the night in the Mountrail County jail in Stanley.

Special Agent E.K. Wilson of the FBI said Sauder has been charged with one count of federal criminal trespass and was taken into federal custody Friday afternoon. Wilson said a criminal complaint filed Friday morning was pending, but would not speculate on any additional charges.

Dressed in a green plaid, button-up shirt and khakis, under which ankle shackles could be seen, Sauder made his initial court appearance Friday afternoon at the U.S. District Courthouse in Minot in front of Magistrate Judge Charles S. Miller Jr. via videoconference.

Throughout the 45-minute hearing, Sauder repeatedly interrupted Miller by raising issues of jurisdiction, intent and his right to trial by jury, all of which were rebuffed until the appropriate hearing.

Sauder was appointed a public defender and was placed in the custody of the Attorney General until a detention hearing is held on Monday. He'll remain in custody until then in the Ward County Jail. No trial date has been set.

This is not Sauder's first run in with the law, said Attorney Francis A. Boyle.

Boyle said he represented Sauder in 1982 when Sauder performed a similar demonstration at a missile launch facility at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. Sauder was charged with federal criminal trespass, found guilty and served six months in prison, he added.

Minus the occasional letter, Boyle said he had not spoken to Sauder for nearly three decades before receiving a phone call Thursday asking him to represent Sauder.

"People like Richard and the Ploughshares and others are some of the most principled people I've ever been fortunate enough to meet and I believe they have a right to peaceful, non-violent, prayerful demonstration against weapons of massive destruction and genocide," Boyle said. "The future of humanity is at stake here and Richard and those like Richard out there are trying to do something."

A law professor at the University of Illinois, Boyle is a scholar in the areas of international law and human rights. An author, Boyle's Protesting Power: War, Resistance and Law (Rowman & Littlefield Inc. 2007) has been used successfully in anti-war protest trials, according to the school's Web site.

Boyle said he has represented numerous similar cases involving peaceful protests against nuclear weapons.

"It was a very thoughtful, prayerful act at an Indian reservation, I do that myself at church. I don't understand why praying on a silo is a threat to anyone it's simply mindboggling" Boyle said. "It's criminal what those missiles represent. Praying is the most effective tool we have right now to fight these Nazi-type weapons of genocide."

If Richard actually climbed a fence at a missile base, then I assume he was trying to get arrested. One doesn't climb a fence at a federal installation and not get arrested. Of course, this is assuming he actually climbed the fence.

Yes that's true, he should know better or if he was trying to get arrested then I guess he succeed. I just watched all 4/4 parts of his manifesto, and I get a very confrontational tone from him. I do not believe this is the time to storm the front so to speak. He calls for a white rose group, ie. the same that was formed in the 3ed rich at the height of the war. If im not mistaken he does this close by a military installation, so he might have been arrested at that day/time.

I think this is suspicious as he seem a very intelligent man who surely must have understand what would happen. I have great respect for Richard S, and it would be very sad if he ends up in jail for a long time, and very counter-productive. Could it be related to his book, the guy/guys who filmed him?
I do think there will be more information in a while.

Well time for me to sleep now.

Having slept this looks much clearer now.

The manifesto (the full version, ie. http://keyholepublishing.com/Minot_Manifesto.html) goes into great detail why he felt it necessary to do this protest.

I read this on SOTT this morning. There was a reader comment from JEEP with the press release from Richard Dolan's site, the first part of Sauder's manifesto, and the links to the 4 part videos.

I didn't really get a confrontational tone. I thought he was very calm and articulate through out the videos. He is a brave and intelligent man and I wish him the best. As was mentioned, I hope he gets proper justice for non-violent demonstration, but in these times anything is possible so my thoughts and prayers will be with him.

Sounds like Richard is part of the problem - trying to drive confrontation so that more people will get killed. That's NOT the way to go about it.

Sorry, I didn't explain very well what I meant, for example Gandhi was pretty confrontational. Even though he was calm and peaceful, this does not look good. I mean, that Texas IRS plane guy had a manifesto / suicide-letter. Even if there was more to that story, at least that's how I think many perceive it.

I agree. Calling something you've written a "manifesto" immediately puts an air of confrontation to it, it's a loaded word...

Not to mention, if Richard was climbing a fence at a federal facility, what did he think was going to happen? Doesn't make it "right", but y'know, if you poke a badger, it gets pissed... osit...

Not a good thing if he initiated the confrontation by scaling the fence. There are things going on at deeper levels of reality as people become more educated as to what is truly going on. Then something new may emerge into this reality through peoples increasing conscious awareness that was only known at an unconscious level before. Then things can change in an instant. Imo, initiating a confrontation will only short circuit the higher quality energy of this growing awareness and this energy will 'downshift' so to speak to a lower quality driving the (false) ego and initiating further confrontations and violence. It now becomes ego vs ego. That's something the pathocracy wants since that puts them in a better position to control outcomes and close off possibilities.

How much exposure is this incident receiving? There is no mention of it whatsoever in my local paper. It may pretty much be a non-event as far as the general public's awareness is concerned which seems especially tragic if Sauder ends up doing significant time in prison. I see where he did this before back in the 1982 and served 6 months in prison then. I doubt the court will take lightly this repeat offense. Also, how was his manifesto disseminated? Was there a hard copy left along with a copy of the Constitution as indicated in the article?

He climbed the fence:
"Sauder placed his call around 9:15 a.m. He said he had been at the missile site for about a half-hour and had cut his hand crawling over the fence."

Was he sitting atop of an underground base at the silo? "At random" could be a choice from his list of bases. Parshall is very close to Minot. Click on google map then click on the - minus button several times:

search "underground"

Checked Richard out four days earlier (thanks GRiM) because i got worried looking at his picture:
_http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlYwkbzFL2g

Maybe he will be lucky and deemed a nutcase then released or get a light sentence. Because his credentials and Ph.D. and serious stance in everything regarding the government however, i'm afraid worries are completely justified. It doesn't look good at all for good and beloved Dr. Richard Sauder. :(

IMO that was very reckless.

So true, the consequences in general could be detrimental, this makes me think, was he seeking this confrontation? if that's so, why? and if not, then, IMO, was just a reckless/unconscious decision.

A little update from Richard Dolan over at Keyholepublishing.com.

Write on Behalf of Richard Sauder

Note from Richard Dolan:

I recently received a letter from Richard Sauder regarding his current status while held in federal custody. He has asked me to relay this to the rest of the world.

First, you can write to Richard Sauder at the following address:

Richard Sauder
Cell C-5
Heart of America Correctional and Treatment Center
110 Industrial Park Road
Rugby, North Dakota 58368

Richard stated that everything he receives is opened and examined by the correctional authorities, so anyone writing to him should know this. Letters of support, however, are certainly welcome.

I would also encourage all readers to write a sympathetic letter to Richard's judge on his behalf, asking respectfully that Richard receive a lenient sentence, noting that he entered Minot AFB with no weapon and purely peaceful intent as a form of political protest.

You can contact the judge as follows:

Honorable Charles S. Miller
U.S. Magistrate Judge
District Court for North Dakota
220 East Rosser Avenue
P.O. Box 1578
Bismarck, North Dakota 58502

FAX: 701.530.2325
EMAIL: ndd_J-Miller@ndd.uscourts.gov

Richard Sauder's trial date is set for May 21. This is not much time. I encourage anyone reading this to send a letter immediately in order to state support for Richard as a non-violent, patriotic citizen of the United States of America.

You can also send supportive letters to the local news outlet, which is:

Finally, regarding prison diet, Richard writes:

"The diet here is deficient. Heavy on pasta, cake, cookies, white bread, hamburger rolls, corn bread, biscuits, potatoes, etc., and very short on vegetables and fruit, which makes it a little hard on me as a vegatarian. And they pass out a lot of aspartame. Regretably, you cannot send me avocados, mangoes, and oranges. But people can write to the jail administrator and urge a better diet for me and the other men, with a lot less starch and a lot more fresh fruits and vegetables."
