In the latest forecast some critical geometry on the 13th was mentioned. It involves geometry of Mercury and Venus (red/purple peaks) combined.

Watch for stronger quakes in the coming days as Earth will be in a quadruple conjunction with the Sun, Mercury and Neptune (red peaks).

A seismic "swarm" occurred this March 15 in the state of Michoacán, the highest magnitude earthquake was registered at 08:44 local time and measured 4.6.

Throughout the day more than 20 earthquakes have been registered in Michoacán, most of them with epicenter in the municipality of Peribán.

Since the beginning of 2020, a seismic swarm began to be monitored in Michoacán. This was due to speculation about the possible emergence of a new volcano in the state (especially due to the proximity to other volcanoes such as Paricutín and Tancítaro).

Hi there,

I would like to know if some of you have informations about a potential earthquake in Dakar, Senegal ? I know West Africa is on a passive margin, but I have recents insights that a big collapse could occur In Dakar this spring. Maybe it could be an industrial blast like the one happend in Beyrouth in 2020. But as the Cassiopeans said "watch for africa" on the 25th of February session after the Turkish earthquake, something tickle my mind about the possibility of on occurrence in Dakar.

Earthquakes in Turkey have generated others earthquakes in the regions surrounding, like Syria. Small earthquakes occurs in Tunsia few days ago. Is this possible for the seismic waves to spread from Turkey to Senegal and wake up something there ?

Earlier today, three earthquakes were recorded in the Peace River region of Alberta.

The first quake, with a magnitude of 4.8, occurred at 08:46 a.m. and was recorded 30 kilometers east-northeast of Reno. A second quake, with a magnitude of 5.0, was recorded at 08:59 am. Later, at 9:07 am, a third earthquake of magnitude 4.6 was recorded in the same region near Reno. No damage has been reported

Hello again Maïmar, I am happy to give you my opinion in this your second post on the forum. First I have to state that I am not an expert, but I am interested in these topics.

Senegal is classified as a low level earthquake hazard according to currently available information.


Since 1900 Senegal has recorded:

~1 quake above magnitude 6
~1 quake between magnitude 5 and 6
~2 quakes between magnitude 4 and 5

Latest quake occurred 7 years ago a Magnitude 5.2, 54 km E of Louga, Senegal on February 19, 2016 And in fact the magnitude 6.3 earthquake of 39 years ago actually occurred in Guinea.

According to ThinkHazard this means that Senegal has a 2% probability of a potentially damaging earthquake occurring within the next 50 years.

So far there is no indication of a catastrophic earthquake. It may be necessary to monitor it more closely. As you can see in the image Senegal is not even close to a fault or plate boundary. And intra-plate earthquakes are usually very rare but they are still devastating.

The same is not true for the countries located in the Great Rift Valley for the reasons stated in the February session. Although the Cs told us to keep an eye on Africa and flooding, it seems that the area located in the Horn of Africa (Somali Plate) will be more relevant because of its proximity to the underground collapse in Mayotte.

Maybe it could be an industrial blast like the one happend in Beyrouth in 2020.

Or perhaps it is a more symbolic event. With the current economic turbulence over the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank, there will no doubt be other collapses. Perhaps it is time to pay attention to what is happening in Senegal in terms of its society and economy. So that you can make the right decisions regarding your future.

Well it could be as the political situation is truly explosive as the result of the rivalry between current president Macky Sall and 2024 candidate Ousmane Soncko. Yesterday again it was a massive street brawl between policemen and Sonko delegation. Demonstrators burnt bus and supermarket.

Earthquake swarm rattles Bay of Plenty​

The North Island has been rocked by multiple earthquakes in quick succession overnight - but scientists say it's "typical activity for the area".

Just before 3:30am on Saturday morning, a 3.4-magnitude quake struck 25km southwest of Whakatāne.

At a depth of 3km, more than 500 people reported feeling the "weak" shaking on GeoNet. Most of the reports came from the east coast of the North Island.

Then, just over an hour later, a 4.6-magnitude earthquake was recorded in the same area. More than 2100 people reported feeling the 5km deep tremor, with GeoNet listing that quake as "light".

In the hour that followed, between 4:34am and 5:40am, GeoNet recorded at least another 10 quakes in the same area - the largest being 4.8-magnitude.

GeoNet said the quake "swarm", consisting of more than 40 earthquakes in total, was similar to ones recorded in 2018 and 2019.

"Feeling earthquakes close together in time can be unsettling, but this is typical activity for the area, and our team is keeping an eye on things," a statement said.

A 6.8 magnitude earthquake in Ecuador on Saturday left at least 13 people dead and more than 120 injured, according to authorities in the South American country.

The earthquake was registered at 12:12 local time (17:12 GMT) and had its epicenter in the municipality of Balao, near the border with Peru, at a depth of 66 kilometers, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The cities of Machala and Cuenca were among the most affected, with homes destroyed and vehicles crushed in the streets.

"The earthquake was felt in almost all provinces of the country, but there were a greater number of reports coming from the provinces of Guayas, Pichincha, Azuay and El Oro, especially from the cities of Guayaquil, Quito and Cuenca," reported the Geophysical Institute of Ecuador.

Most of the victims were inhabitants of the provinces of El Oro and Azuzay.

About 20 educational units and more than 30 health centers were also affected.

Near Los Cabos there are two submarine volcanoes.

One hundred kilometers off the east coast of Los Cabos at a depth of 2,375 meters, apart from the volcano known as "Dorsal de Alarcón", a new and completely different hydrothermal vent was discovered in the southern Gulf of California.

The discovery was unveiled in 2013 at the annual meeting of the American Geophysical Union (AGU).

It was confirmed that these are two active volcanic domes, located in the Alarcón elevation in front of Los Cabos. This by the evidence of rhyolite rocks, which are made up of granite and lava.

Researchers do not rule out that a violent explosion of the recently baptized Alarcón volcano could generate an event of a greater nature at the site, nor do they rule out the possibility of a tsunami that could affect the coast of Los Cabos.

Researchers say that due to the explosive deposits at the site, there is great concern because the mountain range is so close to the mainland that there is potential for a tsunami.

The strongest earthquake in Russia happened on November 11, 1952 in the Kamchatka Peninsula region with a magnitude of 9.0 on the Richter scale. The earthquake also triggered a tsunami, leading to further victims and destruction.
