How do You work - practical advices

Hello,

I would like to know Your successful strategies for working.

What You do?
1. Do You have daily schedules? Do You make schedules in general? For example like in monasteries?...
For example: I wanted to learn speed reading but in the same time on my TO DO list is plenty of other things to do... and I finish myself in doing few of them in the same time and feeling exhausted. I think that this is in my case also a matter of remembering. I sometimes feel so strong desire to know things, that I then follow each impulse which gets my attention. Then after a while memory is coming back that I should focus on one thing at a time but it is already too late because I am distracted. ooops.

2. How do You educate or discipline Yourselves in the above respect? How You practically do it? I do not know: You are putting some cards everywhere with some text to remember? You make Yourself a tattoo :) like in "Memento" movie? Do You make schedules in Your mobile phones?
Well, want to know what works for You... Maybe it will also work for me...

3. How are You supporting Your motivation to do things which You had planned? How often are You giving Yourself something for a good job? Or maybe that is not the case? How You are stalking Yourself? Practically. How to find a good way of stalking myself?

Thank You if You wish to share anything from Your own experience.

Define your goal and place it in the first place, regardless of other things. No matter how it was ambitious, if you persevere, the Universe will reward you.

Hi Mikel. I agree with lux. First things first and like Gurdjieff says: do what is easy first.

This is how I do it:

*Ask and answer: What do you want out of life? We need to know if Work can help us with that.

*Then, make a conscious Aim the way Gurdjieff instructs his students how to do it.

*Then, all we do will be linked to that Aim and it will be easier to know what self-disciplines to apply.

With regard to asking questions like this, it will also be easier for members to advise you when they know your Aim. Why? Because maybe "actions" without knowing how they link to a larger context are mostly meaningless and just mechanical responses...or maybe, at least, arbitrary.

I could be wrong somewhere, though, so FWIW. :)
