In the last two days happened at least and to my knowledge five plane crashes or accidents, though one helicopter crash in New York:

The crash in Nepal seems to be a mistake by the pilot and it was reported that he was confused and didn't know how to land and that he tried to turn the machine while flying.

Not to forget the recent crash of a Russian transportation machine in Syria very recently and some others from February:

Iranian cargo Boeing 707 crashes in residential area near Tehran (VIDEO)

An Iranian Boeing 707 cargo aircraft has crashed into residential areas after leaving the runway, killing 15 of the 16 people on board, the military has said. The plane had departed from Kyrgyzstan carrying cargo to Iran.

A total of 15 of the 16 people on board the ill-fated jet died in the crash, the Iranian military said in a statement. “A Boeing 707 cargo plane carrying meat from Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan had an emergency landing at Fath Airport today... the flight engineer has been dispatched to the hospital,” it confirmed.

The airplane departed from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, carrying cargo and 16 people, according to the semi-official Fars News Agency. The plane was set to land at Karaj’s Payam Airport but the pilot mistook it for the adjacent Fath airfield, which is not suited to servicing cargo aircraft.

Incidents:
The second one is kind of interesting but bizarre. It might just be due to the translation.
The article uses wording such as:
"feared a infectious disease"
“some kind of plague”
“suffocating”
"Fearing mass poisoning"

I've been on numerous flight's, (that before take off), sections of the plane would have the smell of jet exhaust.

At times the odor could be light, (and some times heavy). It's the smell of burnt JP4 fuel. It could, and can produce a panic. And the feeling's of suffocation.
Not to go off on the skids but, would this be the onset of the Airborne plague anyone?
PS: Never eat the Fish meal.

Panic swept through the cabin of the Ural Airlines flight from Moscow to Dubai about one hour 25 minutes into the journey.

One described it as “some kind of plague” and another claimed sickly passengers had “greatly dilated pupils”.

Fearing mass poisoning on board, the pilot decided to make an emergency landing in the southern Russian city of Volgograd.

Particularly affected were passengers between rows 21 and 26 in economy class.

A woman passenger said: “I was woken by a young woman screaming for assistance.”

Those with children moved them away from the rows blighted by the strange symptoms as people feared a infectious disease was sweeping through the plane.

Doctors and paramedics from five ambulances rushed on board the Airbus A321-211, videos show.

An airport official said that five people felt unwell from the mystery poisoning when the plane landed.

Anastasia Golodova, airport spokeswoman, said the Ural Airline plane of landed at 7.23 (3.23 UTC).

After treatment three decided to continue the flight but two refused and were admitted to hospital.

Two crew members died and two others were injured after a Russian Tu-22M3 supersonic strategic bomber has crashed in northwestern Russia while trying to make a landing at an air base near the city of Olenegorsk in Russia's Murmansk region during a sudden snowstorm, according to RT.

CNN reported that the incident occurred at 5:40 am ET. The aircraft had four crew members - a commander, co-pilot, navigator and operator - on board. It wasn't immediately clear which had been killed.

A horrific video of a Russian Tu-22M3 crash in Murmansk Region emerged online, showing the strategic bomber’s approach in near-zero visibility and the moment it slammed into the airstrip and snapped in half, bursting into flames.

Video of the tragedy, apparently recorded by one of the servicemen at an air base near the city of Olenegorsk and leaked online, shows heavy fog covering the area during the January 22 incident

During the crash-landing, the bomber literally broke apart, with its cabin engulfed in flames while tumbling on the ground.

Three of the four-pilot crew died on the spot, while the commander miraculously survived. He was urgently hospitalized with serious injuries. An investigation has been opened to determine the cause of the crash.

The fatal flight in blizzard conditions was a routine training mission, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, which initially said that the bomber carried no weapons during the incident. However, later reports indicate the jet was armed with one Kh-22 long-range anti-ship missile and several hundred aircraft cannon ammo.

The Tupolev-22M3 is the modern version of the supersonic long-range strategic and maritime strike bomber that first entered service in the 1970s. The latest, the M3M, unveiled last August, boasts upgraded avionics, new digital radio-navigation equipment, and a new communications system – and is set to become another carrier of the cutting-edge hypersonic Kinzhal missiles. The plane involved in the fatal accident was produced 33 years ago, but underwent a major overhaul in 2012 and was reportedly due for further modernization.

According to Sun (UK), a Channel Islands Air Search aircraft spokeswoman confirmed they had received reports of sightings of red flares relayed by Guerney Coastguard.

"During the search, reports of sighting of red flares were relayed by Guernsey Coastguard near to the island Burhou, however nothing of significance was found," she said.

Chief officer of Channel Islands Air Search, John Fitzgerald said they had not seen anything around the area despite the reports. "Planes and helicopters have been over many times since Monday night, but they have not seen anything in that area," he said."It is only a few hundred metres long and it has been saturated by helicopters and fixed wing aircraft," Fitzgerald added.

Fitzgerald ruled out the flares as possibly just aircraft trails and Guernsey Police later confirmed they had searched the island high and low and found nothing. "The island of Burhou has been searched by foot. No trace of the aircaft has been found," Guernsey Police tweeted.
