Melanie Phillips, A provocative thinker.

May 5, 2013 - Melanie Phillips spoke about her eight non-fiction books and responded to viewer telephone calls and electronic communications.

I'd love this woman to meet Jordan Peterson and Camile Paglia. This is a long interview, 3hrs, but I think it's worth watching. She takes multi-culturalism apart very delicately and accurately, lamenting the abusive acts the law cannot prosecute for fear of being labelled racist. She's a good thinker, and she divides opinion in the UK, many on the left have a real dislike of her. Sitting in the centre, I enjoy her approach and have grown to respect her over the years.

Much as I struggle to contend with Jordan Peterson at times, I disagree with Philips on the issue of Israel. There's a fair bit of weeding to be done when listening to any public intellectual, and it's the same here. It's something I've experienced over the years, that Jews often take the "my country right or wrong" viewpoint, and I see some of that here too. I'm not sure if she's aware of the writings of Illan Pappe for instance, or even Shlomo Sand.

What I'm currently noticing more and more is that conservative thinkers are so often more calm and reasonable in their debate, whereas the left can often seem to be running on short fuses. It could be further evidence of Jonathan Haidt's exploration of moral tastebuds in effect.

The moment I heard "The Guardian" my alarm bell rang . Wow ...

Weeding is a good word but at the same time a problem with such people. They will talk reasonable about various topics but the moment they get on the topic of Israel you either hear sweet nothings or out right propaganda supporting this criminal state. The documentary on Dimona and the radiation issues should easily show how demented that place is.

Yep, the Guardian is a notorious paper for virtue signalling whilst being mealy mouthed on the big geopolitical topics. Like so much of the mainstream media, they are becoming increasingly obsolete, the audience is moving more and more to hard hitting sites like Sott.

A conversation between Philips and Gilad Atzmon would be very interesting too.

Israel is without question a psychopathic state. They are racist and extremely cunning, but it's becoming more exposed with every passing day, due to good work by diligent observers. Many people have opined on the UK's and USA's "special relationship", but by the same token it's especially interesting to look at the relationship between dual national Zionists and the USA. As ever, it's the elephant in the living room.

I'd say it is necessary to look at this very closely as otherwise nothing makes sense. Counterintelligence officers are known to assume that there are no coincidences. That same approach needs to be adopted with these people.

A new interview with Philllips here. She's bang on with her dissection of Brexit in this interview. There's also some chat about the erosion of culture which I found to be of interest too. She asks some straightforward questions about the constituent parts of what makes up true democracy too. She clearly has no truck with elitist champagne socialists, that's for sure, anti-democratic remainers are targets for critique here too. You ignore the will of the people at your peril, as the Labour and Lib Dems are finding out tonight here in dear old blighty!

The failings of rampant individualism in our society are looked at, leading to a kind of intuitive blowback. The purpose of life is community, amen to that, putting others before oneself. She makes a lot of sense here actually. I used to be a real lefty and once I would have disliked her purely on ideological grounds, like a reflex. Very sad thing to admit, I'm glad I've grown beyond the left. The polarising of our society is a brewing trouble though, tensions will rise eventually.

She sees a paucity of genuinely good statesmen in the west, and it's hard to disagree. No big news to us here. Some interesting points on religion in relation to black and white thinking from those on the atheist side, and she reflects a little on spiritual yearning which is left to starve in our society in the main.

It gets spicy towards the end when anti-semitism is discussed. Now this is a problem in our society among some types, although it's a kind of sour cynicism I think among some critics of Israel. I've delved into the comments on various forums and youtube and it's there for all to see. Born of frustration and cynicism though in my view. Many Zionists however, cry wolf and we all know what happened in that old story.
But I've seen the evidence in comments, some criticism of Israel crosses the line and does become hateful.

I can see why she divides opinion, I don't always agree, but I'm happy to hear her out. She is certainly someone who provokes reaction.

To hear her defense of anti-Semitism this video may give a clearer picture of her call to go back to a sense of nationalism based on Judeo-Christian values which as we here are realizing are not quite what they have been taught to be. The Zionist influence and ignorance of the Caesar/Jesus connection leave Westerners in a very vulnerable position to support what they see as a return to morality and defense against Islamic immorality via terrorism and Sharia law. Almost the perfect setup I think. The first half by Daniel Johnson is a kind of historical introduction and she does not speak until the last half of the video in case you want to save some time. Religion is being used to manipulate all sides it seems. Laura's new book could very well be a very positive influence in this time of ignorance.

It is like "Will the real manipulators please stand up". I guess the veil between 3D and 4D has to be removed for that to happen.
She says "The Jews are going to get it from all sides". Separating the "wheat from the chaff" is not such an easy task.

I think she presents her observations as best she can without having any awareness of 4D STS manipulation.
