German Federal Police on Saturday said there was a knife attack on a train in the southern German state of Bavaria resulting in several injuries.

The train was travelling near Neumarkt between the cities of Regensburg and Nuremberg at the time of the attack.

Bild newspaper said three people were injured, two seriously.

The attacker has been arrested, police said later, and the threat is over.

A police spokesman told BR24 public broadcaster that the details of the attack was unclear, but that police received a call around 9:20 a.m. (0820 UTC).

Bild said investigators are currently ruling out a terrorist background.

The train was then stopped near the town of Seubersdorf in the Upper Palatinate region of the state of Bavaria, police said.

A spokesman for German rail operator Deutsche Bahn said the railway line between the two cities has been shut down since about 9 a.m.

"At the moment, trains are being held back at suitable stations," the spokesman said.

A knife attack occurred on Saturday morning on a train line connecting Regensburg and Nuremberg. It left three people injured, one of them seriously, according to local media.

The perpetrator was apprehended and identified as a 27-year-old man of Arab origin with a record of mental illness, the tabloid Bild reported.

The attack happened around 9:30am local time, the newspaper said. The Intercity Express (ICE) train was carrying around 300 passengers at the time of the incident. It was moved to a station in the municipality of Seubersdorf, southeast of Nuremberg.

Upper Palatinate district police are handling the investigation.

Police confirmed one arrest in the incident, but did not immediately confirm the number of victims or disclose their state.

German rail operator Deutsche Bahn said the route between Nuremberg and Regensburg was temporarily closed.

Cartel gunfire erupted on the beach of a high-end resort in Cancun, Mexico, on Thursday. Hundreds of tourists, including Americans, fled the beach area after a shootout between rival gangs left two drug dealers dead.
"Dozens and dozens of shots," eyewitness Troy Petenbrink told TODAY on Friday. "Everyone came running off the beach towards us. It was rather surreal."
Mike Sington, a guest at the Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun, tweeted, "I've never been so scared, literally shaking."
"I'm fine now, barricaded in my hotel room for the night, just trying to decompress," Sington said.

Well, what do you expect? Cancun is located in the lawless Mexican state of Quintana Roo, where cartels have been fiercely battling each other to control the drug trade to tourists.

The attorney general's office for Quintana Roo said cartels faced off on the beach in Bahía Petempich that left two dead:

"About 15 people arrived on the beach to assassinate two men who had showed up saying they were the new dealers in the area," the head prosecutor of Quintana Roo state, Oscar Montes de Oca, told the Radio Formula station.
The cartel shootout is the latest incident frequent by American tourists. About two hours south in Tulum, a resort town popular with celebrities, Instagram influencers, and millennials, has been descending into a chaotic hellhole this year as cartels wage war against each other for control. Last week, two tourists were killed in a shootout, and three others were injured.
Remember, earlier this year, we posted exclusive photos of protests that show Tulum locals marching down the street holding a sign that read "Tourist You are NOT safe in Tulum."

In short, why risk your life for cheap cervezas and tacos as increasing cartel activity is becoming more prevalent at or near high-end resorts.

Update (1230ET): In a very strange turn of events, TMZ is reporting that the frenzy could have been a targeted attack:
A source connected to Astroworld tells TMZ, someone in the crowd went crazy and began injecting people with some sort of drug, which caused panic and then a surge.
The source says authorities are trying to determine if those who went into cardiac arrest were the ones injected. We're told one of those who died is a 10-year-old.
The source says it appears to be a targeted attack.
We have not confirmed this report, but the source is a key person involved in the festival.

And perhaps worst of all, some concert-goers climbed the stage and implored staff to "stop the show"...

As Tom Ozimek detailed earlier for The Epoch Times, police officials said at least eight people were killed and many others injured in a crush when fans surged toward the stage at the Astroworld music festival in Houston on Nov. 5 while rapper Travis Scott was performing.

“This is a tragic night,” Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña told a news conference outside NRG Park, the event venue.
“Eight confirmed fatalities, and we had scores of individuals that were injured,” he added, describing what occurred as a “mass casualty incident.”

Around 50,000 fans were in attendance at the festival, Peña said, when at around 9 p.m. “the crowd began to compress towards the front of the stage, and that caused some panic, and it started causing some injuries.”

“People began to fall out, become unconscious, and it created additional panic,” he said, adding that emergency response teams transported 17 people to area hospitals, with 11 of the victims in cardiac arrest.
Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo said that some of those taken to hospital were as young as ten years old.
“Tonight’s focus … needs to be on the families and on the lives that we lost,” Hidalgo said. “Many of them extremely young, tragically young.”
Our hearts are broken. People go to these events looking for a good time, a chance to unwind, to make memories,” Hidalgo said. “It’s not the kind of event you go to to find out about fatalities.”

The fire chief said the cause of death of the 8 deceased will not be officially known until the medical examiner has completed an investigation.

Houston Police Executive Assistant Chief Larry Satterwhite who was near the front of the crowd and told reporters at the press conference that the surge happened suddenly and played out over the course “of just a few minutes.”

“Suddenly we had several people down on the ground, experiencing some type of cardiac arrest or some type of medical episode,” Satterwhite said.
“And so we immediately started doing CPR, and moving people right then, and that’s when I went and met with the promoters, and Live Nation, and they agreed to end early in the interest of public safety.”
The fire chief said that the event organizers had a “medical component” on hand to deal with emergencies, but “they were quickly overwhelmed when the crowd started falling out.”

Over 300 people were treated at an emergency field hospital set up at the venue, Peña said, with over 55 Houston Fire Department units later stepping in to provide assistance.

The show was canceled shortly after the incident, and the Houston Office of Emergency Management later announced that the Astroworld event had been canceled for Saturday.

“Please keep the eight victims and the hundreds injured in your thoughts and prayers,” the agency wrote in a tweet.
Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said “it’s very important that none of us speculate” about what caused the surge and to allow investigators to complete their work.

“Nobody has all the answers tonight,” he said. “We just don’t know. And we will find out. So, pray for these families.”

On the TMZ link, a picture shows the stage, and on the stage background is projected: 'See you on the other side'. Probably the lyrics to the song.

And even before the concert, during the day, crowds were storming the barriers to get in early.

Here's a link to Astroworld Festival FAQ:

Apparently, it is like a carnival with rides and games as well as a concert. And admission is one time per ticket, so you can't leave and re-enter.

One more detail I found from KHOU

Is there a COVID policy?

Attendees must have a printed negative COVID-19 test or proof of full vaccination along with a valid state-issued ID.

I'm thinking the unruliness may in part, be due to covid-19 restrictions.
On the astroworld FAQ page, I didn't see any reference to covid restrictions, and they give a detailed list of allowed items, rules, ect.

There are rumors going around that this was a Satanic rite.

It would be interesting to know if there were 4D STS forces at work here.

Rap music seems like it is married to the fashion industry. The rap culture is fashion oriented, although it is stuff like hoodies, baggy pants, bling, shoes, ect.... and so it is always changing musical headliners the way the fashion industry makes models famous.

The music itself is centric to a fashion attitude and so it is not very memorable, but makes a lifestyle 'in fashion' thus fashion merchandize 'in style'.

And so fashion helps rap, and rap helps fashion. On their own, each has to struggle because the music isn't classical, and fashion must necessarily change, and it isn't practical. But as a team, the two combine to sell merchandize at inflated prices. With branding.

So it isn't just music, or fashion, but merchandizing. And with that comes a growing list of industries, wanting a piece of the action. But as rap has a gangster attitude, this is the means to succeed in this entertainment venue: gangsterism. And so rappers come and go in quick fashion, as they are eaten by larger prey - who are always the means to success, and give them fame in order to capitalize on it. And as a famous rapper, who's life span of fame is short, and his money and fame at its height, a incident like this concert tragedy is like a harvesting.

Strange days!

A heavy police and EMS presence was spotted near the pool after the helicopter took off, with officers later cordoning off the area as they interviewed witnesses. A witness who captured some of the footage making the rounds online said that, despite spending a significant amount of time in the area around the Lincoln Memorial before the evacuation, they had not heard any gunshots, leaving it unclear where the purported shooting took place.
