Sad news. I discovered football as a kid back in 1986, and watched him at his peak in the Mexico World Cup that year. He was a force of nature in that tournament, although many English football fans can't forgive him for the handball goal he scored in the quarter final. The other goal he scored is rightly remembered as one of the best goals ever, definitely the best goal I've ever seen.

He was a troubled soul, struggled with cocaine addiction, but his place as one of the sporting greats is assured. Argentina will be mourning this loss big time today. RIP indeed.
