Skyrock: What does it means?

Here in France there is a radio station called Skyrock. At some point in time the motto (slogan) of the radio was "Skyrock first in rap music".

A lot of people basically thought that it was stupid to put "rock" in the name of a radio that broadcast mostly rap music.

Some of them said that to a radio host guy whom would basically answer "Your the stupid, a skyrock is just a big radio antenna, it has nothing to do with rock music.« (If I remember correctly.)

When you look at the definition on "skyrocket" that would make some sense. But, when I do a search to find some corroboration to that idea the closest thing I find is on urbandictionnary.com:

sky-rock

1. loud music coming from above or upstairs.

Can someone enlighten me?

Is "skyrock" a term that is/was used to describe a radio antenna or something?

Perhaps the idea was simply to usher people listening rock&roll and then brainwash them with rap music :-D I said that because yeaaaars ago I listened Skyrock a bit and I never realized it was about rap.

But you did a good find in the urban dictionary so it's perhaps the real reason.

Interestingly, in the Wikipedia page we can read that the name of the radio was originally "La Voix du Lézard" (The voice of the lizard)...
So perhaps Skyrock name is just a derivative of the Skynet name. ;-)
