Strange Explosions/booms around the world

Goldstein

A Disturbance in the Force
Not sure if this is going to work properly through my phone or not but here goes.

There have been many strange explosions (booms) being heard and felt, even seismically recorded in the US and around the world. Recently reported by RT with links to the other reports. Obviously the US military has denied any involvement. Ironically there have also been a lot of "fireballs" being recorded world wide. So I suppose my question would be: Are these "booms" cosmic in nature or "man made" (PTB, military etc)

The following is the RT article previously mentioned.

Residents of southern Arizona are baffled by mysterious booms being felt and heard across the southern part of the state, which have caused the ground to shake and pets to tremble. No one seems to have an explanation for the weird occurrences.
The spooky events happened two nights in a row – on Tuesday between 8pm and 8:30pm, and on Wednesday just after 3pm, according to Tucson News Now. It's not just one or two people who have reported the strange booms, as the media outlet says it has been “inundated” with calls, emails and Facebook messages from witnesses.

Describing one of the booms, a resident by the name of Jim Hughson said it “sounded like someone throwing boulders in a huge dumpster. Crazy.” He said he heard the boom on the northeastern side of Tucson.

Another resident named Pamela Sutherland said one of the booms “was loud and it shook the house, rattled windows, and everything hanging on the walls. It was enough to make the ground shake and frighten our dog.”

The Tuesday incident was strong enough to be registered by the seismic monitoring station at the University of Arizona Geosciences Department, with Assistant Professor Eric Kiser saying it happened between 8:11pm and 8:12pm. Although he and his colleagues examined the waveforms, he said it is “difficult to determine what the source is, using one seismic station.”

Kiser did, however, note that it likely wasn't a sonic boom, because they typically aren't so “impulsive.” He said a mine blast could be the cause, but said it would be unusual for such events to be taking place so late.

Tuscon News Now reached out to military installations to see if the incidents could be from sonic booms. However, no aircraft has reported conducting one. David-Monthan Air Force Base, located in Tucson, also told local NBC affiliate KVOA that it has no aircraft operations or explosive demolitions that would have caused the booms. The 162nd fighter wing of the Arizona National Guard is currently checking into the reports.

Meanwhile, Arizona isn't the only place to experience mysterious booms this year. More than 60 similar incidents have been reported around the globe in 2017, from Australia to the UK. Among the most recent reports were unexplained booms in the US states of Michigan, Idaho, and Alabama.

Neighborhood picking up the pieces after home explosion that injured woman
Posted 10:49 pm, May 14, 2018 (Witness description's are very interesting) Video / 02:02
CLEVELAND -- Fire investigators are trying to figure out what caused an explosion that leveled a home in Cleveland's Glenville neighborhood Monday afternoon.

The blast injured one woman and shook the entire neighborhood. The 45-year-old woman is in critical condition at MetroHealth Medical Center, officials said.

"It was such a loud blast that it shook the house. I'm several houses away from this house and it seemed like it was right there in my front room. I actually thought someone had hit our house, it was that enormous of a blast," neighbor Waynenita Perryman said.

The woman who owns the home that exploded said the injured woman is her father's girlfriend.

"When our units got on scene, she was actually standing in the street. Fire arrived, EMS arrived and then they transported her," said Cleveland Fire Chief Angelo Calvillo. "Being blown out actually probably saved her life because instead of the house coming down on her, she was blown out of one of the windows and was able to survive. So, actually a blessing I guess."

Crews from Dominion Energy turned off the gas to the home. Investigators spent the day combing through the debris, trying to figure out what caused the explosion.
FOX 8 saw investigators remove several gasoline cans from the home, although it is unclear whether they are connected to the blast.

The homeowner says a construction crew hit a gas line nearby last summer.

Perryman said she has to stay with her mother for the time being as she lost everything in the explosion.

Four feared dead and dozens injured at massive fireworks explosion in Spain
24 May 2018 Video
Four people are believed to have been killed and at least 28 injured in a massive explosion at a house packed with fireworks in Spain, The Sun reported.
The blast happened just before 4.30pm in Baldrans near Tui in the province of Pontevedra in Galicia, north west Spain.

Seven children are among the casualties - and it's feared some of those injured could be serious.

The blast is said to have shattered windows of properties in a 2.5 mile radius, destroying several homes.

Police explosives experts have been sent to the scene to try to avert any more explosions.

Distressing TV footage showed plumes of smoke rising into the air and locals running around in panic among debris scattered over the ground. Firemen were checking the area house by house to look for people hurt or killed in the incident, emergency services said.

One local known only as Sonia told radio station Radio Galega: “It was horrible. We were watching the TV and suddenly I heard a really loud noise.

“The house came down on top of us. I didn’t know whether to help my son or my daughter first but then I saw the girl’s hair and shirt was on fire.”

Carmen Alen, whose house in Paramos near Tui was also virtually destroyed, told a local paper: “We thought it was the end of the world. Everything began to burn.”

The Disruptive Ford F-150 Supplier Fire Had An Explosion That Threw An Employee Through The Air
David Tracy Today 9:42am
1st Gear: Official Report Describes Scary Supplier Plant Fire That Shut Down Ford F-150 Production
On Monday, the Lansing State Journal obtained a copy of the Eaton Rapids fire department’s report on the blaze at Michigan-based magnesium manufacturer, Meridian—the blaze that ultimately shut down Ford F-150 production for over a week.

The report describes just how out-of-control things got at the factory, with the fire suppression system “fueling” the fire with water, a major explosion sending an employee flying into a door jamb, and cars burning in the parking lot.

Some of the nine-page report, which you can read here, is just downright frightening:
After the second explosion it was reported that there were two employees injured one by debris that was ejected from the plant and the other employee was injured by the blast of the explosion at the south end of the plant by the scrap tunnel he stated he was thrown thru the air and hit the door jam on the way out of building.
It goes on:
We did not try to extinguish any fires at the plant because of the molten mag in the area. The roof of the re-melt building caught fire and burned, there were three machines with two crucibles each with ten thousand pounds of molten mag in them. After the explosion there were numerous vehicles in the parking lot damaged by flying debris, there were two vehicles that caught fire...

The Detroit Free Press spoke with fire chief McNutt, who said finding the initial cause of the fire has been difficult:
“With the destruction that the second and third explosions caused, it was impossible to find what caused the first explosion,” McNutt told the Free Press Monday. “The second and third explosions were the result of water and molten magnesium. That was observed by myself and employees of the plant after the first alarm was sounded.”

Water on magnesium is a bad thing, with the news site talking with Livonia fire captain Michael Magda, who described what water does to a magnesium fire:
The worker was thrown through the room because explosion causes a shock wave.
“That’s how a bomb works,” Magda said. “And this is very typical of magnesium. Once the magnesium is ignited, it explodes when water added to it. It’s going to be a very dynamic incident. A very dangerous incident for firefighters and the surrounding community. They were lucky there were no fatalities.”

The Eaton Rapids fire department’s report estimates that the blaze caused about $4 million in damage to the property and $4 million in damage to the building’s contents.

How much the blaze ultimately cost Ford and other automakers that had to delay production, we may never know.

Għargħur explosion believed to have been a bomb - police seek man who fled the scene
Malta
- A man was seriously injured when an explosion believed to have been caused by a bomb went off in a farm in Għargħur on Wednesday afternoon.

The blast, in Triq l-Isqof Gargallo, was heard over a wide area at 3.05pm

It brought down part of the roof of a room, trapping the injured man.

Well-informed sources said two other men had also been on the scene. One of them is being questioned by the police but the other one fled and is being sought.

The sources said the injured man, 42, was previously known to the police. He was operated on as soon as he arrived in hospital.

Rescuers from the Civil Protection Department and medical personnel were deployed to the scene and helped pull the man from the debris.

The sources said the bomb went off shortly after the garage door was opened.

The injured man's relatives rushed to the site but were told he was already on his way to hospital.
Two cars which were parked nearby were damaged. One had a smashed windscreen. The owners were prevented from getting near them as the area was evacuated.

Army explosives experts were also called to the scene.

Some 45 minutes after the blast the police further extended the cordon around the area, asking reporters to move further back.

The road was still closed and bomb experts were still examining the site five hours later.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli is holding an inquiry.

Another Unexplained Explosion Heard This Morning In Bucks Co.
Breaking: Another unexplained explosion was reported early this morning in Bucks Co. State and federal officials investigating, police say.
By Kara Seymour, Patch National Staff | May 22, 2018 4:10 pm E
Another unexplained explosion was reported early this morning in Bucks County.

State Police and federal authorities are now investigating the reports of the mysterious nighttime explosions, some of which have been reported to leave holes in the ground. The most recent explosion was heard around 4 a.m. Tuesday, Springfield Township Police have confirmed.

Bucks County residents from Quakertown to Point Pleasant along the Delaware River reported hearing explosions early Sunday, as well as numerous times over the past several weeks.

Springfield Township Police in a statement said their department and surrounding jurisdictions are receiving "multiple" reports of the loud explosions. Federal investigators are now involved "due to the vast area from which the complaints are being reported and the apparent size of the explosions," Springfield Township police said.

The cause or source of the explosion remains undetermined.

Richland Township Police last month acknowledged the blasts in a Facebook post after receiving inquiries from residents. But in an email to Patch Tuesday, Chief Richard J. Ficco said it has been determined none of the explosions actually happened in Richland Township.

State Police are investigating this, "as it appears that all of the explosions are occurring in the areas they cover," Ficco said.

State Police have not yet returned a request from Patch seeking comment.

A representative with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) confirmed the agency is assisting State Police with the investigation. The lead in the investigation, however, is Pennsylvania State Police, ATF spokeswoman Charlene Hennessy said.

'Large explosion' at Kentucky UPS facility leaves 2 with non-life threatening injuries, officials say
Lexington Kt. (Blue Sky Pkwy) 5-30-18
A “large explosion” ripped through a UPS vehicle maintenance facility in Kentucky on Wednesday leaving at least two people with non-life threatening injuries, officials said.
The two who were injured were transported to a local hospital, while at least six others were taken to the hospital as a precaution, Lexington fire battalion Chief Jason Wells said.

The victims were conscious and talking on their way to the hospital, he said.

Lexington police said the explosion that occurred at the facility near the Blue Sky Parkway was accidental and that Lexington fire personnel were on the scene.

Welding tanks appeared to have exploded blowing a huge hole through the roof of the facility, Wells said, adding that the cause was still under investigation.

There was nothing that led investigators to believe that the cause was anything more than accidental, Wells said.

The explosion caused significant structural damage to the building and there was a small fire when personnel arrived at the facility, Wells said.

Did you hear or feel it? Massive boom heard in Ozarks and northern Arkansas
Published 10:30 p.m. UTC Jun 6, 2018
A boom so strong it shook ceiling tiles in the West Plains area was heard and felt over much of the Ozarks shortly after noon.

It may have been a meteor exploding high in the atmosphere.

edJV9f6j

This famous image of a meteor exploding over Chelyabinsk, Russia, was taken in 2013. Did a smaller one just explode high over the Ozarks? Yekaterina Pustynnikova, AP

At least that's a working theory at the National Weather Service in Springfield, which received several calls about the 12:15 p.m. event.

"We first realized it when we got a call from the Little Rock office that they were getting all these reports from the Mountain Home area about a very loud, shaking boom," said Mike Griffin, meteorologist at the Springfield NWS office. "We talked to the Howell County dispatch center and they were taking a tremendous amount of calls, powerful enough it shook ceiling tiles."

Griffin said he had seen reports on social media of people hearing and feeling the boom in Bolivar, West Plains and Houston, Missouri, as well as Mountain Home, Arkansas, Gainesville, Bakersfield and Salem.

"I checked with the U.S. Geological Survey and they had nothing register as an earthquake, so that can be ruled out," Griffin said.Steve Gleghorn, administrator of Howell County 911, said he was outside when the boom happened.

"It was a fairly loud boom, a fairly good concussion," Gleghorn said. "A police officer said he saw a contrail about that time then heard the boom. I just spoke with him again and he said he saw two short contrails northwest of West Plains, but never saw an airplane. Then, and I'm quoting him, 'it went 'BOOM' and it scared the hell out of me.' "

Willow Springs resident Lloyd Ebert said he saw a contrail near the edge of a cloud "that looked like smoke all around it."

"I felt the ground shake and wondered what in the world?" Ebert said. "I looked for something to fall out of the sky but I didn't see anything."

Ebert said he assumed it was a sonic boom, though he never saw an airplane. He just saw the smoke trail, heard the boom and the ground shook beneath his feet.

Gleghorn said the 911 center received about 10 phone calls from people wondering what had happened.

The logical conclusion could be a sonic boom from a jet flying faster than the speed of sound. But Griffin, at the NWS office, said the wide range of reports indicated the boom must have occurred very high in the atmosphere, higher than military planes normally fly.

He said a sonic boom from an aircraft flying at 30,000 to 40,000 feet would typically be heard 30 to 40 miles beneath the jet's flight path. Wednesday's boom was heard at much farther distances.

"It possibly had to be higher up, like 100,000 feet or more," to spread such a wide swath of "boom," Griffin said. "Sometimes you can see a streak on radar of a meteor burning up in the atmosphere."

Griffin said he looked at weather service radar but found no streaks. However, the regional weather radar only looks up to about 65,000 feet.

"If something came in at 100,000 feet or higher, our radar doesn't see that high," he said.

Freight train derails & explodes in Indiana causing propane-fueled inferno (PHOTOS, VIDEO)
18 Jun, 2018 14:19
A freight train derailment that resulted in a large explosion and fire has forced some residents of an Indiana town to evacuate. Authorities are still struggling to contain the blaze 12 hours after the accident.
Witnesses have been posting photos and videos of the fire, which started Sunday evening. The train, which was carrying 89 loaded rail cars and nine empty rail cars, derailed at around 7:20pm local time.

A statement from CSX Transportation, which operates the train, said that one of the rail cars appeared to be leaking propane.
Authorities ordered a mandatory resident evacuation within a one-mile radius of Princeton, Indiana shortly after the train derailed, with CSX reportedly providing hotel accommodation. Photos taken at the scene Monday morning show that the fire has not been fully extinguished.

Evacuation lifted, roads being reopened after train derailment

It is not yet clear why the train derailed. No injuries have been reported so far.

The sound was enough to wake at least one neighbor and prompted the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office to begin an investigation into the cause of the resulting fire, according to various reports.

A press release issued Monday morning by the sheriff's department made no mention of an explosion, but the Town of Vernon Fire Department confirmed authorities are looking into that probability based on the damage and other reports.

"That's kind of what they think," Vernon Fire Department Lt. Jake Machajewski said Monday. "It's under investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, so we're not a hundred percent sure on that."
The sheriff's office reported the Waukesha County Communications Center received multiple calls about the fire, prompting an immediate response by deputies as well as the Vernon Fire Department.

By the time deputies arrived, the house was already fully engulfed in flames, said Lt. Aaron Bogie of the Sheriff's Department. They quickly located a 28-year-old man, the sole occupant of the house. He was taken by Flight for Life to SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Madison for treatment of burns on his body.

Despite the extreme damage, firefighters, who remained on the scene for roughly five hours, faced few obstacles as they doused the flames.

"Nothing really too troubling outside of the water-supply issues, but that's pretty normal for this rural area," Machajewski said.

Assistance was also provided by the City of Waukesha Police Department and fire departments from the cities of Brookfield, New Berlin and Waukesha, villages of Big Bend, Elm Grove and North Prairie, towns of Brookfield, Delafield, Lisbon and Waukesha, as well as Eagle, East Troy, Mukwonago, Tess Corners, Tichigan RIC, Wales/Genesee and Western Lakes.

It happened around 8:15 a.m. in the 400 block of North 20th Street.

The woman has been identified as 36-year-old Vernice D. Hill. The man has yet to be identified.

Columbia Gas has been notified and firefighters are working to shut the gas off.

Investigators are on the scene working to determine the cause of the fire. A preliminary investigation determined that a gas leak involving scrappers taking metal from the house caused the explosion.

"The two destroyed units were vacated a week ago to prepare for renovations and residents relocated as part of our remodeling process," Charles Hillman, President and CEO of the Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority, said.

"Vacated units in a separate, adjacent building also suffered some damage as well. The units were locked, and our property management team has been on site since the units were vacated."

12 injured in ‘fuel storage’ blast near Cairo airport (PHOTOS, VIDEO)
Edited time: 13 Jul, 2018 03:11 Snip:
At least 12 people have been injured in a massive explosion just outside Cairo International Airport. Images shared on social media showed large plumes of smoke rising up in the air.

The wounded are believed to be the employees of Heliopolis Chemical Industries, which is located in a military zone near the international airport. Egyptian army spokesman Col. Tamer Rifai issued a brief statement on Twitter, explaining that the explosion probably occurred because of the 'rise in temperature' in one of the on-site fuel storage facilities.

Civil defense authorities deployed to the scene reportedly managed to bring the blaze under control in less than an hour. Police vehicles, security services and ambulances also rushed to the area of the incident.

The explosion, which happened around 10:30 pm local time, occurred at two fuel storage tanks outside the airport, Egypt's Civil Aviation Minister said, according to Reuters. The minister also denied initial reports that air traffic at the airport was affected.

Pipe explosion fills Manhattan streets with steam (PHOTO, VIDEO)
Edited time: 19 Jul, 2018 13:09
More than a hundred firefighters have been called on site to respond to a huge steam pipe explosion in the Flatiron District in Manhattan, New York.

The incident occurred at around 6:40 AM on the on Fifth Avenue between 22nd and 21st streets, the CBS reports.

The blast ripped the pavement apart, with massive plumes of steam coming from the crack. At least, five high-pressure steam pipes exploded in Flatiron District, according to the New York Post.

Fifth Avenue was closed to traffic from 30th to 14th Street due to the blast, while R and W trains bypassed 23rd Street in both directions to turn the morning rush hour into a nightmare.

The explosion in Manhattan was “pretty violent,” an eye witness told New York Daily News. “The steam was shooting up into the air about 70 feet… The cars around were coated in mud... It left a huge crater in the middle of the street.”

There have been no fatalities of injuries reported so far, but the New York authorities have evacuated the people from the nearby buildings as a precaution.

Two hours after the blast, the emergencies services have been unable to contain the steam leakage, the NBC reported.

Con Edison, which provides steam service in Manhattan, said that it was conducting environmental testing for asbestos and other contaminants near the site. The Company also urged anyone, who was affected by the debris, to take a shower and change their cloths

Actually, this thread is for strange explosions that might be related to fireballs/meteorites.
