The bigfoot/sasquatch encounters

A Disturbance in the Force
I'd like to know whether the track going into the woods I saw today was made by average animal/human or something else? Should one be watching out for the bigfoot or are they harmless to humans?

The footprints were in deep snow (I sinked over knee when tried walking there) - distance between prints was about 1,5metres and a single print was about two times as large as men's shoe, but might be a moose or such since the track was messy enough not to tell the exact shape. I live just just next to Russian border in Finland.

Were you able to take any pictures of the prints? That would help in ruling out large animals.

Here are some photos I took just a moment ago, snow has covered them a bit2925729257Not quite the knee deep after all, but still good way to it. Distance between prints is over a metre - 1,5m, I don't see how a human could walk them or run them in that deep.

On the first picture and the distance view it looks like from something that goes straight on two legs because the distances are too far for something on four feet and it has the shape of a human foot. But when looking closer it looks if two tracks are in one (like the picture with the ending 402). It is pretty hard to tell since the snow looks melted and the track are washed out.

Actually, seeing as this is your first post on the forum, we would appreciate it if you would post a brief intro about yourself in the Newbies section, telling us how you found this forum, how long you've been reading it and/or the SOTT page, whether or not you've read any of Laura's books yet, etc.

distance between prints was about 1,5metres

Have you measured it with a folding meter stick or just guessed? How many of those prints could you find? Or in other words, how long is the track? What is the average distance between one step and the other? How deep was the snow exactly? Was the snow melting at (and around) the point in time you found the prints? Have you tried to test out if you could manage to create the same distance between the tracks with your foot, in the same depth of snow, and if so, with how much effort involved and how does it compare to the prints you found in shape and form? Is it comparable? How deep is the snow compressing into the ground when you attempt something similar? Is it comparable (the size and especially the depth and form) to the prints you found? Can you guess at what point in time the prints must have been created? Next time you find something like this, it would be a good idea to gather such data and photograph it as soon as possible with something in the picture that can be used as a size comparison.
