Ward off the cold and flu

This home made elixir isn't the best tasting thing in the world but it's helped me avoid getting sick during the cold/flu season recently.

Grate (don't blend) -

1 and 1/2 onion
1 clove of garlic

Mix with one small jar of honey, refrigerate.

Eat about two or three tablespoon's of this before breakfast. As a kid I was forced to eat this all the time and hated it but I never got sick, just started back with it and it works wonders for me. But keep the Mentos or spearment gum handy...

If you're facing or recovering from illness, rice porridge (also known as jook, congee, Xi Fan or Zhou) is something of a miracle food.

To prepare congee, take one part of rice with five to eight parts of water and simmer slowly until you have a porridge. Some say it should be the consistency of watery oatmeal, personally I like a thicker consistency. I use organic brown rice, but as far as I know it can be made with any kind of rice. After two hours of cooking the rice becomes very soft and individual grains start to disintegrate, You can also add lots of garlic and ginger, as they lose their intensity during the cooking process.

It's very easy to digest and is very warming and comforting, and can be eaten at any time, not just when you feel ill. In my experience, it aids recovery and, like Telperion's recipe above, helps to ward off colds and flu.

is that the classic christmasfood you're thinking of(at least here in Finland it is)?

This works for me:

Greens, multi-vitamins (contain 70 vitamins and minerals) and very seldom a glass of colloidal silver. I cant remember being sick since 2002. I just had a few headaches because I don't drink so much water, I don't trust my carbon-filter :)
